How often do you weigh yourself?
I weigh every day, first thing in the morning, after using the bathroom , and before I step into the shower . Now that i wrote it down , it looks a little OCD to me. Oh well I am a creature of habit .

Doctor wants to make a poster of my 5 month "transformation" as he calls it!
I was asked to sign a limited release form, which I did . He gave me his email address for if and when I decide to send him the photos. I haven't even reached my goal yet . This is so weird to me!

Feeling frusterated
I hope that since you both are finding the same thing, you will see that this is normal. Try to measure your losses by the month rather than the day. You are so early in, your body is still trying to figure out what is going on. Focus on doing things correctly and success will follow

Doctor wants to make a poster of my 5 month "transformation" as he calls it!
At my 6 month post -op visit (I went 2 weeks early) my surgeon wants to make a poster of my 5 month pictures.. He called it a "total transformation". I find this ironic since I have never willingly showed pictures of myself in the past. I only made my before and after for this forum. I definitely have some body conscious issues and I am trying to work on them. I work for the same company that is associated with the hospital where I had my surgery, so it is pretty awkward for me. I'm a nurse at a sister medical center so many coworkers would see this. I have not kept my VGS a secret, but I hadn't broadcast it, either . While I am flattered, I kind of feel like it's flying my bloomers up a flag pole! What do you think?

Disappointing show, everyone still fat!
Seela, that would have bummed me out also. I went to our hospital support group last night and came out feeling like you. Very few superstars there . I am sympathetic to the support aspect of the group but each session turns into a "band " vs "sleeve " rally. Which one is best ??? Blah blah blah . That's a question for the surgeon - not strangers . Just my opinion ... I like it here much better .

good news for me!

struggling everyday
I have found that most of my " munchy" attacks are actually hydration cues . I have never been a water drinker and still struggle to hit my daily fluid goal. My strange brain sends out hungry signals when it means I'm thirsty. My suggestion is to try to drink something first before you pick up a salty/sweet snack. Another great alternative is to have some Babybel or laughing cow cheese in the fridge. They serve double duty as snack and protein. Good luck!

Anyone have Barrett's?
I was diagnosed with severe Barrett's on my preop work up . None of my docs tried to talk me out of my surgery. In fact the bariatric surgeon explained that he would be working on that portion of my lower esophagus to improve the Barrett's situation. I will tell you , pre-op , I snored freakishly loud . From the first day post-op , no more snoring! That was not promised or even suggested, what a great surprise ! Almost 6 months later, still no snoring and my reflux is under much better control than before, almost no symptoms whatsoever . Lots of luck to you.

Blood work
You probably mean your PTT is elevated. That can happen for a number of reasons, but common culprits are aspirin, excessive Vitamin c, and some antihistamines. If meds are eliminated as the cause, than a hematologist evaluation may be necessary. You definitely need to know if you have true clotting problem before you have surgery. As for the H pylori; It is a fairly common bacteria in the stomach. It usually resolves after one or 2 rounds of a "prev-pack" which is stomach medicine plus antibiotics. It's important to treat this because H pylori can cause ulcers and this could cause post op complications if not addressed. I had h pylori and was treated pre-op and post-op . Everything went very well for me, and without delays . I hope the same for you.
