snochick2005 got a reaction from A_ReNUDE_me in How dangerous is vomiting?
When I was in the hospital after my surgery, one of my nurses had also been sleeved. She said she spent her first 3 days vomiting and everything for her was fine. She said that wasn't common but it happens to some people who don't react well to pain meds.
That being said, I had a lot of nausea with the surgery. However the anti-nausea meds and walking kept me from vomiting. I dry heaved a few times which hurt...
I never actually vomited though until I was about 4 weeks out and certain soft foods did not agree with my tummy. The thought scared me too, but knowing that my nurse had been vomiting right away after surgery seemed to make it not as scary and more normal.

Last night, I had 3 rum and diets... With a straw! I stirred them so it was fairly flat, but da*m it was been a rough week at school. Kids were naughty little boogers! My colleagues and I needed to let off some steam. I was just going to have one, but... OPPS!! At least no appetizers were included :-)

There is a method of determine whether you are big boned. Most drs measure using your fingers around your wrist. Here is a website that actually gives you the inches http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/imagepages/17182.htm
Personally, I'm actually am big boned, its not just a fat excuse. When I was skinny, at 5'8.5, I was at the top of my healthy weight range (165-170), wearing a size 6/8, and looking very healthy. Because of my hips/bone structure, I don't think it would be healthy for me to be much less then that. Everyone is different!!

snochick2005 got a reaction from ArnoldS in HELP---Having doubts---pre op
Everyone is scared. I kept having this dream that they would wheel me into the OR and I would change my mind. My surgery day came and when they wheeled me in, I didn't change my mind. Personally, it has been the best decision I could have made. Seven weeks later, 30 lbs lighter, my knees no longer kill me ever time I stand up. I'm actually seeing a light at the end of my long weight loss tunnel! I still have a ways to go and I know that it's not always going to be easy, but finally being able to say that I'm not morbidly obese after only this short among of time has been worth it.
Remember the sleeve is a tool. If you want to gain weight back there certainly are ways to do it. Obviously for health reasons its not recommended! You will always have choices.

Some meds are not crushable tho, particularly if they are "extended release" tablets. You will have to talk to your primary doctor about comparable pills that are crushable or in the capsule that can be taken apart. Most meds are offered in various forms :-)

Well at least I know its normal! Thanks for sharing!
If you have any advice that will make it less frequent I'm all ears. It woke me up every hr -45 mins last night to run to the bathroom... I'll try taking Imodium once a day until I see my doctor on Monday for the 1 week.
Now to focus on the positive reasons I had the surgery like not eventually getting diabetics, feeling comfy in a wedding dress, riding amusement park rides, and feeling good about myself

I very much second the previous statement of go to the ER right now!! That sounds like it could be very serious and you DO NOT want to chance it.

snochick2005 got a reaction from TES in Care Credit
When I applied, I was approved the same day. I wasn't married, but I am a home owner with average credit. I used it for my boyfriend when he did not have dental insurance a few years ago. One thing to be careful of is if you use it and you don't pay it off during the 0% time limit (depends on the doctors office) you have to back pay the interest. It can be a big whammy!

snochick2005 got a reaction from Goddardgo in Approved and possible August date
I was approved by insurance! Actually I was approved the same day it was submitted, 2 days ago, but I found out today when I called my insurance to ask... I called my clinic and I have a preop date of July 29th and might have a surgery date of August 2nd! the surgery dates not final yet though. I wi meet with nutritionist to start the preop diet on July 23rd. It's scheduled kinda goofy because I'm a teacher and I start back to work August 16th. Luckily they are willing to schedule it like that for me so I don't have to take extra time off.
I'm so happy right now :-D

No pre-op diet yet... I will finally have a date for the surgery by the end of the week. My clinic won't even let you meet with the surgeon until you have insurance approval... I've been wanting this for a few years and to finally know when it's going to happen it going to be such a relief!
Bay girl~ I hope we both hear back before the end of the week! I will keep my fingers, arms, toes, legs, eyes, and butt cheeks crossed!!
