  1. My MD allowed me to swallow pills (one at a time, wait 5 minutes before another pill) the day after surgery. Every physician seems to differ with post-op instructions.
  2. Thanks - this is great - really gets your heart going and is fun and easy!!!!
  3. Congrats - must have been fun shopping.
  4. You have to take care of yourself first - you are still early - has MD seen your incisions? Hope all goes well - listen to your body. 32 pounds is quite a large amount for 2 months - congrats.
  5. Such a beautiful young lady - you look great and glad to hear you are feeling great - thanks for the positive post!
  6. What a difference - you look amazing - congrats.
  7. At one week post-op I went for the one week check-up, told MD that I was worried about protein amounts - he stated not to worry about protein for first 3 weeks - just sip, sip, sip.
  8. I agree with Bonnie, losing 56 pounds is quite an achievement. Remember muscle weighs more than fat - have you taken your measurements? Stay in touch with the group - you will find support. You are worth the effort - think of what a good role model you are for your children. Best wishes.
  9. No one will ever love you like your dad, but I know what you mean about well intended, irritating comments. My mom still asks if I'm on my diet. I know she means well - just wish she wouldn't go there.
  10. My surgeon uses a slightly larger tool for gauging the stomach size. His reasons were to reduce discomfort and nausea. (keep in mind this is only slightly larger than the usual size). I can still only eat about 5 bites of solid food before feeling full. I can drink about 8 ounces slowly. Hope this helps.
  11. I remember eating one saltine cracker at that stage - chewed, chewed and drink liquids - no problem. I would be careful with a biscuit - they can be very soft and doughy - maybe a small bite to satisfy your taste buds.
  12. Congrats on a great job. I agree, these are truly inspirational. Thanks for sharing.
  13. Sorry to hear you and your family have been so ill. Your health comes first - it sounds like you are a strong person and you will start losing again. Many blessings to you and your family.

  15. I take lyrica for my fibro - my surgeon had me take (4) 75 mg capsules in pre-op. That knocked my butt out for the rest of the day and night - helped with surgical pain and fibro. Normally, I only take 1 capsule every 4-6 hours.

  17. There are the risks associated with any major surgery. If you feel really concerned, speak with your MD - he/she knows your history. Have you ever had general anesthesia? Odds are on your side, everyone on this site who had the sx put themselves at some level of risk - you could also die of heart attack, stroke and/or diabetes related illnesses. You have be informed and make the best decision for you.
  18. Unfortunately, there are many who are afraid of there own weight issues (most women gain each year until they reach a point that it is unhealthy - just go to a public event and look at how big we as a nation have and are becoming). The fact that you have taken a major step to control your eating and allow you to choose healthier food choices and amounts is threatening to many. This is why I shared my sx with only 3 people. Remember everyone while have an opinion of you, so just develop thick skin and focus on yourself (which is hard for women to do). Congrats on your weight loss and keep up the good work.
  19. GREAT JOB - CONGRATS - YOU ARE PROOF THAT THIS WORKS.
  20. MY SX WAS ABOUT 2 MOS 3 WKS AGO - RECENTLY EXPERIENCED LOW ENERGY DESPITE ADEQUATE H20 INTAKE AND PROTEIN - STARTED TAKING 2 GUMMY CHEWS OF B COMPLEX BY NATUREMADE - WHAT A HUGE DIFFERENCE IN ENERGY. THIS HAS REALLY HELPED ME AND WANTED TO SHARE FOR THOSE INTERESTED.
  21. Last month, I traveled to Florida for 8 days and packed enough protein bars to make sure I had something. Surprisingly, the convenience store had greek yogurt and string cheese. You could always order scrambled eggs from the hotel restaurant (that seems to keep me full several hours). Make sure you carry a water bottle on your day trips and you should be fine. Have fun.
  22. Just a note - you can buy the vials and syringes at Amazon.com.
  23. Happy birthday - congrats on the weight loss.
  24. Thanks for this reminder. I can tell u spoke from ur heart. We can all use this type of support.
