I am 19 months post op and I can truly say I have absolutely no regrets! My life has been made anew and am so grateful for this chance! I waited a long time to do this and knew when I did it I had to be ready. It is a total and complete life long life change that you must stick with. Having said that I have days that are tougher than others but they are few and far apart. If you can say you a truly ready you will never regret it........I feel that their are some who rush into without the full realization of the life change and what it takes to keep it up. Those sadly are the ones who gain their weight back and struggle on a daily basis. However they to can succeed when they accept the change and power through the tough days. I wish you the best!

Wow, great question! And a great answer! As someone who is within 10 lbs of goal, this is fascinating. I'm still going for the goal, but it makes one wonder.....

@@beach lover, When I had my Tummy Tuck I was not big. I had a little pooch (and I do mean little) that would never go away because of a previous c-section. My plastic surgeon removed 5 lbs of skin. I'm still blown away by that. My pooch wasn't even big enough to grab; pinch yes, grab no, and it wasn't loose, hanging skin.
So the answer to your question is yes, you probably are at your goal weight minus the skin. The best way to find out is to start going to plastic surgery consultations. The surgeon needs to physically palpate (feel) your fat to gauge whether it is dense or not.
Skin that does not have a lot of dense fat will produce amazing results in the right surgeon's hands. Once I was all healed up and the swelling had subsided, I was exactly (to the ounce) 5 pounds smaller than my weight the morning of surgery.

Hang in there! It honestly took me 9 weeks to get my stamina back again. This is a major change to your system and it takes some time to get back into the swing of things. I really don't believe those 2 pounds are going to stay. I would call them a fluctuation that you had the unfortunate timing to weigh in at the doctor's office. You will lose weight..........You don't have a choice at this point! Have you tried Premier Protein shakes? They give you 30g of Protein and are only 16o calories and delicious. You can get them at Sam's......best price, costco, and small packs at Walgreens, Kroger and Walmart. Keep taking your Vitamins that is crucial. You are going to be fine once you get past the adjustment.......I promise!

My friend tells me that I'd probably be below 200 lbs if I had plastics. I weighed in at 203 today, so if I had the excess skin removed I probably would be below 200. But since I don't really know what the excess skin weighs, I don't try to handicap my weight.
To determine if I want to lose more weight, I look in the mirror and try to evaluate how I look. I ask my best friend (who I completely trust to be honest) how he thinks I look. Then I decide if I want to lose more weight.

Okay, I am 19 months post op. I am one pound away from goal but I have an ultimate goal of 10 pounds lighter. When people have plastic surgery to remove the extra skin it is usually 12 pounds or more removed which in turns makes them lighter. Now here is the question.................Am I actually closer to my ultimate goal of 150 (I weigh 161 without the surgery) should I start maintaining or continue and lose another 10 pounds? Has anyone ever asked themselves this question? I definitely have extra skin all over the place!

Telling people at first was very hard and very private. I am now 19 months out and when asked what I did I just tell them the truth. I admit that I have a moments pause gather my courage and tell the truth. I have done a fantastic job and irregardless of how I did it.........I did it! I haven't gotten a negative response yet. Going out for dinner with someone who is paying the bill be it a date or a family member I am just very carefully about what I order and do my best. I was very concerned about this at first but as time goes on you can eat more. Give yourself some time and it will get easier. Just make wise choices and ditch the potato for another veggie side and pace yourself. It will be fine. Best of luck to you!

you the very best. This is just one of many test in life we have to conqueror. food, cigarettes, alcohol have always been a the go to relief. This is the part that you have to figure out how to handle without using one of these vises. I know you will figure it out!

Starting weight 161 Goal 158 for a 3 pound goal. This would put be below goal...............Hope I can do it!

This was a game changer for me! The only regret I ever had was momentary right after the surgery and this is very very common. You think you made the biggest mistake of your life but it quickly goes away. When I had the surgery I literally turned away from my old life and will not allow any of my past behaviors back into my life. I try to be very aware of my mental thoughts that govern my eating habits. Thanksgiving was a lot easier than I what I was expecting. I ate what I wanted which didn't amount to much which was only a momentary bummer. Later I allowed myself a piece of pie and it wasn't cheating because I planned it for myself. That is a big difference from the old me. Eating something because I wanted it versus eating something because I planned it allowed me to enjoy it without regret. NO regrets for me!
