Hello all, im Dee Dee. I just wanted to add and hopefully be welcomed here, I am a revision from the sleeve Dec 30, 2013. Since i woke from that surgery, ive had complications, so this is the method they've decided would help me. Although i lost 84 lbs, ive had difficulties with MAJOR ACID REFLUX, putting it lightly! So, Lord willing, I'm sceduled for Dec 4. Started liquids Nov 21st, did early thanksgiving for family last week. Although I've been down this road, it's still difficult bc of the head n eye hunger, leftover thanksgiving, ugh! Im scared being its my second one and increase chance of problems. But I've prayed for relief so that i can enjoy this journey finally, so tho I'm scared i have faith that this is my answer. I've been more than miserable for almost 2yrs post sleeve and it's time for relief. God bless all of ya'll on this journey and your surgeons. Gl from Virginia!

Hello Rebecca, i do pray that all goes great with you as well. Just a few hours ago, i was questioning my decision again as well. I asked my husband, quality over quantity of life. ..he said, "I've watched you suffer for almost 2 years since day one, if i had to choose for you, I'd say quality". So for right now Rebecca, I'm sticking with having the surgery but I'm still scared. I'm on day 3 of liquids but I've been nauseated for about a month now, I'm scared there might be something else wrong with the sleeve, never been nauseated before, ugh. Wondering if it's trying to tell me something about the gbs, ughhh!!

I planted a garden and started canning. Things taste so much better and are healthier when you can control the ingredients. Cranberry Sauce or that congealed log is always a thanksgiving favorite. Here's a healthy version that I hope you'll enjoy: Make it yours!
    Cranberry Sauce Vers 2.0
    8 serv, 15' prep, 15' cook time.
2- 12 oz bags fresh cranberries
    3/4 cp pineapple juice
    1/2 cp no sugar applesauce
    1/2 cp Water
juice n zest of 1 orange
3-4 Tbsp of honey or to taste (optional)
    Instructions
    1. Put cranberries, pineapple juice, apple sauce and Water in a saucepan and bring to a boil.
    2. Keep on medium heat, stirring constantly until the cranberries start to explode about 10 to 15 minutes.
    3. Reduce to simmer and pour the juice and zest over the cranberry mixture.
    4. Simmer 10 to 15 minutes and remove from heat.
    5. Cool completely and store in fridge at least 4 hours but preferably overnight before serving.
    6. Note: this is not as sweet as store versions. Taste at the end of cooking. It is naturally sweetened from the fruit juice and the applesauce but you can add more honey or stevia to taste if needed.
    Enjoy and Happy Thanksgiving.

@@TXMissy, it depends on your goal.
If your goal is losing then following the protocol prescribed by your surgeon to lose weight is what you should do.
If your goal is to maintain weight, then following your surgeon's protocol to maintain weight (which will by definition be higher calorie) is what you should do.

If it's not too late plz add me 164.6, GW 155. I've been apart of several of your challenges and ty. Unfortunately tho, I'll have revision to gbp surgery on Dec 4 Lord willing, due to continuous problems associated with my sleeve since day one Dec 30, 2013. They decided last month to revise. Started 2 week liquids today, still challenging as b4, but mostly head stuff bc i really don't get hungry. I pray that all goes better and I'll have updates on loss. Gl all and thx either way if I'm able to join you.

    Calico Dip
A magtart family favorite. This is served at all family events. We have to at least quadruple the recipe as we have a large extended family.
    Serves 6
Ingredients 1 cup low fat cottage cheese ( small curd preferred) 1 cup low fat sour cream 1/2 cup low fat Mayonnaise 1/2 teaspoon sugar (optional) 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/4 cup green onion, minced 1/4 cup radish, minced 1/4 cup cucumber, seeded and minced 1/4 cup green pepper, minced 1 garlic clove, minced Directions Combine cottage cheese, sour cream, and mayonnaise. Add in sugar (if using), salt, minced garlic, and all the veggies. Stir well and refrigerate for at least an hour to blend flavors. Serve with celery sticks, carrot sticks, or any other veggie dippers -- great with potato chips too!

Hmmmm... hate to say this - but why did you marry her in the first place? Did you love her only because of weight? You had WLS and it is working for you - and that is great! WLS is a huge decision as you know - and a personal one. Perhaps in time she will see the benefits of it and look into it - or perhaps it wouldn't be the right thing for her. Perhaps you need to cut her some slack and not expect something from her just because you have had WLS.
I know you probably want her to lose the weight because you love and care for her and want her around in the years to come. Nevertheless, you might want to re-examine the things about her that you do love and not judge her because she is not falling in line with what you have done about your weight.
