I'm already thinking of my mushy stage. Does anyone know if pressure cooked foods are ok? Do the meats get soft enough? Thanks!

Ive read lots of posts about ur situation n ur not alone, but the better news is, that everyone gets passed it, I've not read one single post where a postop is still on liquids or suffering from lack thereof. It's hard now but reading the postopers stories reassures me nd I hope now you, that all will be ok. I'm not sleeved yet, going threw the hoops first, but ik what to possibly expect thx to the people here! I just hope if n when its my turn, I don't forget their advice :/. Stay strong:). Like its always been said, we didn't put the weight on overnight, and though some may lose at a different rate, we are all different. Don't beat urself up, just think, have u ever lost 26lbs so quickly prior to wls? So ur doing gr8! Just don't let the scales decide ur success. Just remember that uve had the surgery, now u have a tool to be more successful at losn than u ever had b4! You are, can, and will do this, just give ur body time to adjust to such a major change and don't kill urself w zumba...I use to do it b4 my bad knees. Hopefully after surgery, i'll b back at it. Good luck n God Bless You. Dee Dee:)

Still sweetie, u don't need that non support. So really search for someone else, I mean, y let insurance reimburse this idiot and he's not supporting ur choice? Newhoo, there are a lot of successful people whose gone threw the surgery and doing / did gr8! Chin up n keep reading n if u have to stay w that jerk NUT(literally as well ) then prove him wrong, not bc u have too but bc u CAN/WILL!! bye4now, Dee Dee:))

For me, I couldn't agree more. That is part of what got me in trouble in the second place. The first part was getting to the point where the dieting became necessary. I am done with "diets." Period. One of the things that my surgeon and NUT stress and why I thought I was a good fit with this thinking is that life is not a diet, it's a way of eating. Getting to goal in 4-6 months is NOT the goal. What happens then? I have to "transition" to the new normal. It may take longer to get to goal, or whatever my body deems goal, but I will have had 9 months, a year or whatever it is of lifestyle change under my belt, not having to start over the the dreaded transition.
I don't track my food and won't unless I see bad habits sneaking in. If that happens, (I'm only 3 months out so I realize the hardest part is yet to come but so far, so good) I will track faster than you can say myfitnesspal! I don't limit my carbs. My carbs are naturally low only because of the normal eating practices of the sleeved person, Protein first, veggies/fruits second and starches and carbs last.
I have not yet consumed any breads, chips, crackers, refined sugars or rice. They are out of my system and I am going to see if I can go to the end of the year before trying them. Those are the things that are a slippery slope for me. I don't crave them any longer so it's not really giving anything up. It no longer bothers me to go to a Mexican restaurant and not have chips. I won't say I'll never have them again, all I can say for now, is I'm more than happy not to have them.
I enjoy wine on the weekends, only red though and only wine I enjoy and not nearly as much as pre surgery. I am not feeling like this is a diet, I feel like this is a plan I can be on board with. Down the road, my goal is to eat well 85% of the time, eat fine, 10% and eat goooood! 5%.
I just know for me, I had to change, my mind had to change and I could no longer continue to lose 30 pounds every year, just to gain it back. Dieting just has to be a thing of the past for me. I know this doesn't work for everyone and my motto is: Do what works best for you! We may all be on the same journey with the same goals but everyone's path is different.
Here's to us all reaching our goals, whatever path we may take!

I so understand where you are coming from. I was sleeved on the 7th. I also had a hiatal hernia and 2 umbilical hernias. I left the hospital a little dehydrated and with a sprained neck. My worse pain came from the umbilical hernias. I sprained my neck getting either into or outta bed using my arms to either push my around or pull me up in bed. I have slept in my recliner since I got home. And it was my general practitioner that told me my neck was sprained.
I have sooooo had buyer's remorse but it is getting better. On the 6th day I was finally able to get in all my fluids and about half of the Protein. I still have neck pain, but that is going away. I'm finally able to start seeing the end of the pain. I have to say I really love not being hungry ALL the time.
Good luck folks. It's hard and painful but it does get better. You'll wake up one day not needing pain meds and then you'll be able to conquer the world!

If you did the surgery to get healthy then why not try to quit smoking for your health??? I quit...3 months ago. A month and a half before surgery...and I feel much better. Its easier to excercise.

I agree with the others, the drug issue is the larger problem. Has he always acted this down and out? Is it more recent? If this is a new behavior, then I am inclined to think he is using something. Part of the marriage counseling should be a drug test. If he is using, go to a safe place with your child. The behavior will only get worse, meaning more violent.
Prayers for you and your child.
PS. an affair is not worth it, IMHO. I have never had one, but my ex did. The impact it had on me was near suicidal, and he lost everything: his friends, job, reputation, family, etc. Now he goes to counseling to deal with the guilt.

I went to my first wl meeting two days ago. The first thing talked about by the nutritionist was no smoking at all. She said that is one thing that will disqualify you from having the surgery because of its effects on healing call the ulcers in the stomach and it can really b a problem for the sleeve initially nd n the long run. She said not just cigarette smoke but any kind nicotine n any form. Then the doctor came in he started out by saying if any of you smoke you will be disqualified from the surgery not just by smoking it anyway you can come to your body including the gum, Patches e-cigs. And he also said if the nutritionist not tell you we do test to see whether or not you have nicotine in your system, so if you are planning on having surgery anytime within the next four to six months stop smoking or using nicotine of any kind right now. And he said anytime during the six months at all, they have the right to test again for it. Not bc they hate u or don't want u to have the surgery, but bc they have seen results. He about a lady who had surgery, lied about smoking bc they didn't use to test, and now she has a big hole in her stomach which can not get fixed until she stops bc it will nit heal or help her right now. So I say, go n get some health from ur surgeon bc ik its hard to quit cold turkey, so learn the gruesome facts n maybe it'll help give u all strength to stop. God bless.
