I also am a slower looser. I know that I am also doing what I'm supposed to be and have lost 45 lb since April 29th. I had a 5 week stall and then the scale started moving again. My Dr was also doubtful I have been following the NUT's diet, but I really had. For the first time in my life I am not crazy about food, and have great control keeping calories below 800-900 day. My guess is your body w ill catch up and youll probably loose in spurts, your body will catch up, and then loose somemore...
  2. I'm really excited for you and your husband to be doing this together. What a wonderful support for one another! I was sleeved April 29th and my husband is going to be sleeved Aug. 9th. It would have been so much better to do it together. He still tries to get me to go out to eat with him all the time, and its really hard. As a matter of fact the only time I have overeaten with the sleeve is at a restaurants. When he is sleeved he will see what a waste of time restaurants are!
  3. Since the start I have gotten nauseated by cold liquids. The cold protien shakes don't bother me though. I leave my bottled water out on the counter to get room temperature. I do agree with taking the Prilosec it really does help.
  4. I've been asking myself these same questions lately. I had surgery on April 29th and Im down 28 lbs. I was hoping to be doing a little better. I log every calorie, and max out my calories about 600-700 per day and exercise 30-60 min. per day. I have a friend who is losing much more than me, not counting any calories, just drinking her protien shakes throught the day and eating a small dinner at night. She has lost 70 lbs in 4 months. Im really thinking of just giving up food and going her route.
  5. NEVER, but if I was going to want to gain weight I would start drinking milkshakes, really good ones!

I know its frustrating having to wait for the surgery, but be glad they found it. I'm an Endoscopy nurse and a recent sleeve patient. What meds do they have you on? The ulcers will clear up with proper antibiotics and prescription strenth ppi's. If left untreated they could cause pre-cancerous cells leading to cancerous cells over time if undetected. It was a blessing you decided to have this surgery. Also after your sleeve when you have only 15-20% of your stomach left, most of the areas that are ulcer prone will be removed so reoccurence of the ulcers are unlikely. Look at this as a good thing. It could be worse my husband went in to be sleeved 2 weeks ago and when preping for the surgery they found a heart arrythmia on his EKG. He was soooo dissapointed. Again we are so lucky he decided to have the surgery because we had no idea. Now he is getting treatment, under control, and will be sleeved in one month.
