That is so great that you were able to have fun at the water park!! I'm also happy about your relationship with the gym, weight training and cardio. I hope to be in your shoes by next summer (preferably sooner). I just love your description of the scale - it's true it is unreliable - yet such an important part of our life and self esteem

Glad this is not life threatening - but I would want to know the cause too. If they find out what the cause is, please update us

I have also seen some of the younger sleevers finally look their age after they've lost weight. I'm 53 - if I lose alot of weight in my face, I may look older, but it's a small price to pay for feeling good and having my health. Then again, there's always plastics...
  6. I know that regain after surgery is possible. I am ready to follow Drs orders. I too think it's ridiculous to wait, go thru all the hoops, finally get the surgery - then a week out asking how soon they can have a beer and a hot dog. I have done the research, weighed the pros and cons, and am ready to be obsessed with food until the point that eating what i'm supposed to is second-nature. I'm with you pal, I just want to get it done!!
  7. My therapist suggested I just do the pre-op instructions and lose the weight that way and of course - not have the surgery. I laughed and said - sure, so I can gain it back and then some??? I told her I am having the surgery!!!
  8. Yay!! No place for the weight to go but DOWN!!

I'm so sorry to hear that - I hope it works out
  16. I guess I don't understand why the pain pills have anything to do with whether you lose weight or not. I was always told that if you're in pain after surgery, take the pain meds.

    Yay!!! no more hunger
  18. Hi! I'm from New Haven IN - am having surgery July 30th in Mexicali, Mexico. Does anyone from Fort Wayne know if Lutheran Hospital has a Bariatric Support group. Being self-pay I don't have to go through all the pre-surgery hoops. It would be nice to have a group locally.
  19. Outstanding!!! Not only do you rock the bikini - you look like a happy girl!!!
  20. I can't wait to be "busy with my happy life, buying clothes and looking great" - that's my goal - that's a great reason not to have posted for a while
  21. congrats on being able to enjoy shopping - great NSV
  22. You know, everyone says to try different protein drinks and shakes to see what you like - but, after surgery I guess your taste can change and you can't drink what you thought you liked - so, individual packets make the most sense
