I'm October 8th!! Yay!

I feel them. For the first time, in....idk, EVER. But I'm conflicted. I'm not sure if I like them all. The jaw bone, collar bone, wrist and ankles are much appreciated. But this pelvis I've never felt seems absolutely obnoxious. Along with these hip bones...that seem to get sharper as the weeks go by....I'm grateful that walking seems so graceful and effortless...but I am definitely afraid that these bones are now unprotected and extremely vulnerable. And....Sometimes I miss my fat, and my stomach, and various Fativities like eating in bed, buffets, and food comas. Idk. All of this is just so strange! Lol. I guess I'll adjust.

I know this is SOOO very long but it is what I live by now and figured it may help some people out. Feel free to even briefly browse it to answer some questions. I know every surgeon is different but I'm biased and think mine is the best lets be honest tho, who doesn't think their surgeon is the best?

So before surgery I had high cholesterol (254), high triglycerides (370+), high blood pressure and heart rate (average 150/100 with hr over 105) and was concidered pre diabetic.
As of today being almost 5 months post op and down almost 60lbs I have great bp and hr (120/80 with hr of 75 to 85; ive been off meds since month 1), normal triglycerides (low 200)and normal sugars. Unfortunately my cholesterol is exactly the same but that is a cruddy thing about genetics. Ive dropped 2 pants sizes and fit into all my old clothes that I put away a year ago when I couldnt fit in them anymore. It feels great. My doc wants me to drop 8 more lbs by my 6 month check up oct 21st, which is doable, but I cant do the gym for another 10 days because of having my gallbladder out only 2 weeks ago.

Suzy, I blogged about my first 9 days. Here is a link to the first six days. Yes there was remorse, hormones, sadness, crying, anger, snapping. And it's best for your family to be prepared and know it's normal and not want you to "snap out of it".

The surgery was fine, actually. Not painless, but I didn't experience much pain at all. I was off the pain meds by three days out and working from work at 9 days. (Don't tell my doc.) My knees don't even feel like the same joints I had two months ago, there's such a big difference. I have only needed to take Tylenol one time for knee pain since the surgery, and I had been a 6-Advil-A-Day habit. NO regrets.

I really like the chocolate Premier Protein shake, but the vanilla was starting to get on my nerves so I've been playing around with flavors trying to make it more enjoyable. This morning's experiment was a keeper!
I threw all this in the blender
One ready to drink Vanilla Premier Protein Shake
One scoop Unjury unflavored powder
2 Tbs PB2 Peanut Butter Powder (bought on the advice of folks here, found it at Kroger in the organic section)
Some Water and ice
It tasted fantastic!!! The PB2 is awesome. It was close to 16 ounces so it took a while to drink but it was yummy.

Strange the things I get excited about these days ... It used to be "I can eat an entire McD's Cheeseburger in one bite" now it's "I got in 56 grams of Protein before 9am"

Big sleeve is a guy so he prolly thinks its 12 inches.

This morning my husband forgot his bag at home that contains all of his things for work..
So he called and asked me "How much do you love me?"
He's an ER PA so he said just pull up to the ER bay and call, I can run out and meet you.
You see he's worked there for going on six years and I've never stepped foot in there because of embarrassment about my weight..
He's never been embarrassed about me but I have. some the nurses and techs tease him about not really having a wife because they have never seen me (no holiday parties for me).
Today at 6:15am, fresh out of bed and looking that way! I pulled up to the ER, parked and walked into my husbands work like a normal spouse delivering something to their husband

He took me around to meet people and show me his office.
NSV? I would say normal life, and it felt good to be "normal" doing the little things you never would of done.
