Lindzee got a reaction from 1gorgeousgodzilla in What should i pack?
Toothbrush and toothpaste (the hospital didn't give me any even though I was there for more than 24 hours) , Chapstick, and flip flops or shoes that are easy to slide on to walk through the hospital. I packed a bunch a stuff, but didn't use much other than those. Good luck!

Here I am the night before surgery, and then 3 months later!
I see the biggest difference in my stomach and my back. I have a long way to go, but I know I'll get there.

Lindzee got a reaction from CCRNonherway in Surgery tomorrow....
I'm being sleeved this Thursday. I'd be lying if I did't think long and hard about my decision again in the past week. It's extra hard being on this pre op diet and I think I'm kind of going through a food mourning. This will change our lives forever, but I know I want to be healthy and I know this will get me here. Try to keeps the reasons why you want/need this done and your ultimate goal in mind. Keep strong! Sounds like you've done your research and you know what's best for you. Good luck tomorrow!

My surgery is next Friday Im very determined to use my sleeve as a tool. It's not going to be easy. its going to take eating right and exercise , but to me the pros out weigh the cons. I want to get off most of my meds and have a healthier inside. I also want a healthy looking outside. I want to go shopping NOT at a plus size store and I want to fit into some cute clothes. Im 46 yrs. old and I told myself I would not be this size when I'm 50 ! Someone said this and it stuck in my head -- Be good to your sleeve and your sleeve will be good to you !

Lindzee got a reaction from tisha chapron in Per-op Day 1
Had my EGD Tuesday. Everything went well. I guess I was a feisty un cooperative patient under anesthesia. Oops. No ulcers, or hernia. I am cleared for surgery!
Today is the first day of my pre op diet. So far, it's going ok. The Protein drink my Dr.'s office doesn't taste too bad. But I do not suggest smelling the actual powder....Not pleasent!!! I got the vanilla flavor because they were out of the chocolate. vanilla was good too, but they suggested to mix it with light chocolate soy milk for a chocolate flavor. That's good as well. Besides 3 shakes a day I can have light yogurt, sugar free Jello, a lettuce salad with 1 tbsp. of fat free dressing. At least I get to have some crunch. All liquids might have been rough for 2 weeks. The weekend may be hard for me, especially with family gatherings for fathers day.
I can't believe that 2 weeks from today I'll be sleeved. I know that this is the best decision for me and my health. But anytime I have any doubts reading all of the posts immediately makes me feel better about my decision and makes me excited to start my new life. I'm thankful to have found this blog and for everyone sharing their stories, questions and answers along the way, and success. Great motivation!!!
