  1. i never have....you probably need to up your fiber intake. when im not low carbing, i barely ever eat my veggies....but when i cut out the starches, the veggies increase and that keeps things regular. maybe you can add a fiber supplement, or just get more greens?
  2. i had my first fill with dr. meihlan under fluroscopy....it was interesting! they dont all have to be that way, but the option is there.
  3. today, for the first time in over a year, I stepped on my home scale and a number popped up!! I have been too heavy for my home scale for soooooooo long! I am super psyched! I am getting some new boots in celebration of this momentous occasion!
  4. I had my one week check up and things are going swimmingly! Healing well, minimal pain and down 13 pounds! I'm almost to the point where I'm no longer too fat for my home scale! I planned a reward of some new boots when I finally get down to home scale weight! I'm super psyched!
  5. Not only could feel it at that point, but everyone could hear it! Lol....this surgery is slowly but surely teaching me to respect the hunger!
  6. I have that same fear. I had my first post op check up yesterday and I was terrified that I hadnt lost any weight and had put myself through all this pain and discomfort for nothing. But then I got on the scale and was down 13 pounds. All I'm saying is, don't drive yourself too nuts with the fears!
  7. Fiber choice chewables work well for me
  8. im feeling SO MUCH better than last week....still not out of the woods, but i got up off the sofa with NO pain this morning! i have to admit, i was scared for a little bit that pain was gonna be my new way of life...
  9. i feel like im going to scratch my midsection raw! is there something that you all use or have heard of to make that inevitable itching that happens with healing wounds a little less crazy-making?
  10. oh, and i have aetna too!
  11. when i first started this process last year, i had a bmi of 65. my surgeon, up until the hours before surgery, wanted me to reconsider and get gastric bypass. i wasnt sure my insurance would even cover me for the band because of my high bmi. i had my band done last week. at the time of surgery it was under 60. if you have a 3 or 6 month waiting period, make it count! your bmi is 67 now, but if you start to adopt the lifestyle changes you will need after surgery, it will help you lose before surgery.
  12. im looking for something i can put in creamy soups.
  13. Anyone else with sugery this past week wish to check in? Hope all is well in your worlds! I'm doing alright, each day is better than the last.
  14. That wifi scale sounds awesome!
  15. ack! another two weeks?!?! i would fling myself into oncoming traffic! lol...i was on clears for the first 3 and from now until the end of two weeks, its full liquids, which includes yogurt
  16. the gas pain seems to feel more like pressure than aching. this feels like ive been run through with a red hot aluminum pole! it starts with a contraction feeling in the stomach and then a hot/achy/hollow feeling in the center of my chest. if i eat something it stops, so i assume thats hunger. the gas pain is usually higher...i'll feel like i want to burp, but the traditional way i used to be able to make myself burp fails and hurts. but only lasts a few seconds. i hope this isnt how its going to be forever, but if it is, i will just have to devise a structured eating plan that makes it so i never have to feel THAT level of hunger....ive been good at that in the past. kinda hope i dont have to, though.
  17. im about 4 days post-op...early, i know. its like an aching in the center of me....i thought before it was surgery pain, but its not. yogurt makes it go away. it hurts a lot.
  18. it feels a bit excruciating for me also, im finding myself getting hungry but feeling disinclined to eat/drink anything.
  19. it says it can only be viewed by invited readers. how do i get on the list?
  20. Well I hope your dreams come true!
  21. I Took two weeks off. My job is emotionally taxing but not physically so. I'm sure I'll be fine long before then, but dangit I needed a break!!

  23. I understand exactly what youre saying. My mom came to be with me for surgery and the week following....she is driving me insane! "should you be eating that?" "WOULD I be eating that if I shouldn't?!?!" I mean, good lord! I'm three days out! I'm not going to eat a steak! And this is AFTER she went to the hospital caf and came back to my room and started eating! Then acts all hurt because I got pissed! "well what are you gonna do at work when people eat in front of you?!?!?" Seriously woman!?!? And now she wants to be the authority on what I should be eating. That's rich. I love living alone.
  24. tami, they gave me no such thing! but thank you for the tip, cuz now im watching 30 Rock!
  25. dont watch episodes of Conan O'Brien the day after your surgery. just sayin! *excessive laughter kills*
