I have hit a stall! I think because TOM, but I don't care I'm still thankful for my current progress. I lost 13lbs in 12 days post opt and 26 total from my starting weight! Again I'm happy! Praise God!

I am Aug 21st too! I think I would want to smack her for bringing that donut by me. My husband said I was cranky yesterday. I am on my 3rd day pre-op diet. The first went ok, I was hungry throughout the day and went to bed hungry. Yesterday my stomach wasn't begging as much for some "regular" food and today was better than yesterday. I hope it continues to get better. You can get through this...a lot of people have gone before us and have been successful.

Post-op diet day 2. Today was much better than yesterday. Tonight I am not going to bed hungry and I ate/drank less today than yesterday. For a few hours this afternoon my husband noticed I was a little irritable but it passed. It finally hit my husband tonight that we will not be enjoying food together for quite some time.

August 20!! Originally mid September but they had a cancellation so I am completely thrilled! Only 12 days to go :-)

Hello everyone! I am a RN and have been a nurse for 9 yrs. My nursing career began in Mother/Baby then to L&D. Moved up into management at the hospital and decided to spread my wings to being a manager at a women’s health clinic. Due to a move to Texas I am now a high risk maternity case manager….LOVE IT!!!
My surgery date is August 21st. I started my liquid pre-op diet today and I am going to bed hungry. I hope I can continue to stay positive until my surgery.

I was sleeved almost 4 months ago. I've lost 46 lbs. I probably could lose more if I actual exercise. I have had my ups & downs especially with food but at the end I don't regret having this surgery. Good luck to all of you sleevers!!

Good luck today you guys. Just imagine, when you wake up, surgery will be over and you'll start the next leg of your journey. I'm tomorrow at 9:30. Right behind you.

Had my last pre-op hoop to jump through today...hope to get my surgery date when I meet with the surgeon's PA on Tuesday. I think it would be unusual not to swing to polar opposites emotionally as we approach our respective dates.
This is a pretty radical choice we've made afterall, isn't it?
We can do this...we see success stories on this wonderful forum everyday. We also see the hardships we are about to encounter, and we see people rise above and keep moving forward. These are the things that empower us, and give us the inspiration and the courage to do something so very radical. I think this is the reason most of us are on this site in the first place...folks reaching out to one another in support and friendship.

You'll get a lot of answers to this one.. I will respectfully disagree with Travelbug, I know there are a bunch of folks that adopt this option, but at least an equal amount that don't. I was in the second group. No judgements, to each his own on this one. Just giving another persepctive.
Once I made the decision to move forward with surgery, I took a hard line. joined weight watchers (again) and vowed to do my best. During the lead time to surgery I was able to lose 55 pounds. I felt I owed it to myself to do all I could (granted I had a long way to go). This surgery for me was a last resort after 30+ years of never ending dieting. food controlled me for a long time. I didn't want my decisions taken from me because of surgery. Don't get me wrong, I am beyond thrilled that my restriction is firmly in place and doing its job. I made my peace with my eating /overeating issue before surgery and for me that was a huge help. I never once have felt I "Can't" have something, I'm making the best decisions I can. Not to say I don't struggle at times, but pre-op was my chance to tackle so many of the issues that have plagued me.

It's really not that bad!!! I'm sore but not excruciating....I'm in my hospital bed now and wanted to do updates!!! Feeling great! It was scary waiting for the doctor more then it was once I was awl wake!! Tomorrow starts liqueds!!! Eek! Hopefull elall my other 8/1 sleeve buddies are doing well!!! Prayers your way

So I just had a lady who hardly knows me stop me and say.....you should really reconsider surgery....this is a big deal....a big change....and you look great the way you are.....WHAT DO YOU EVEN SAY TO THAT??? for that 4 minutes I really thought about what she said.....what if shes right?!?!?! Im venting of course....cause no one else understands but my sleeve buddies

Two greatest moments of Day 1 in my pre-op diet:
1. My co-worker chose not mention that there was pizza for everyone in our office's kitchen area. :Avoided temptation:
2. Watching my 5-year old son push his cake away to eat SF Jello with me. :-)
Taking things day by day....

Met with my surgeon today, and picked up my pre-op shakes....only 28 days until I am sleeved! Small victory for me today, I have lost 7lbs since my lab appointment :D

Me three. Not worried about the surgery.. Worried about the liquid diet.more so for my family than myself!

Love this...all of these women weigh the same weight...even though we KNOW this intuitively, it is a nice reminder that we shouldn't be a slave to the actual number that the scale says because it means very little.
