  4. Beantown...yes to joining the YMCA!!! Just make sure you see how busy it is at the times you want to go there. My YMCA is fairly empty in the mornings but it can get full in the evenings. Swiming is SOOOO good for you. Running and cycling is all about being 'scrunched up' when you exercise...little short movements and swimming is the opposite it stretches you out and is all about effiecy (11yrs you prolly know all this).
  5. Wendy...it will get easyier one day. Keep it slow. I think week 5 or 6 it started to get easyier. And i think on week 7 i ACTUALLY enjoyed it! I didnt thnk that would ever happen! I repeated a few of the weeks though too. Bonnie...phe glad your going to slow down girlie! I was a little worried about you going 5.0! my gosh thats fast. I am loving your picture btw.
  6. Bonnie! 5.0 is FAST LADY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Slow down!! my goodness. I would estimate you shouldnt be running faster than 4.5mph and walking around 3mph. Hey even if you run at 4.0mph that is still good! YOu gota slow down!!!! THats the hardest thing to learn at this...GO SLOW. GOod job though! Hey you will be up kinda near me! (Well 3hrs away) Try and keep it up at the hotel. I travel alot and to keep up workouts when i travel was a big challange i had to get over.
  7. ok it showed up last night. I am still waiting for the lil shoe thingie as i dont have nike plus running shoes. But it sure looks cool. Ended up being $59 plus shipping.
  8. Hey i just found this thread and i wanna join. Way back Jachut inspired me to run and now Salsa keeps me going:)

  14. O Amanda!I am not anything special!!! I am just busting my junk trying to burn all the too many calories i eat:) Look at you!! you only got 69lbs to go!!!!! I got 100 pounds prolly and they are going SLOW now! It scares the crap out of me im almost the same weight as i was a month ago but my body is changing. I cant WAIT till FRIDAY!!
  15. you ROCK Amanda! Way to conquer that hill. Your doing great. Thanks for the insperation.
  16. And yes i agree Tracy is a Super Milf
  17. Yes i have a 5k on July 4th a Duathlon on July 12th a Triathlon on August 23rd a Duathlon on September 21st These are ones im actually signed up for but they be a couple more inbetween. Believe me i have tried with my wife. But i hate pushing her into to exercise. It is a personal choice. There is a 90 mile bike ride in August that im thinking about but i still a lill fraidy of 90miles---and no IPOD allowed ill die of boredom. I would have to strap a speaker to the handlebars
  18. Inspiration? lol! Thanks! Its hard to think of myself that way as i am just struggling along with the rest of you. I want to encouarge you to do better though...so you can have a higher quailty of life and achieve your goals. Any big change in your life takes hard work but it also is hard to stay the same and be miserable and not be able to do the things you want to do. So pick KEEP GOING LADIES. Fight for everyday. Maybe nobody told you your life is going to be a fight but it is...so lets get on with it.
  19. Good job stranger!!! When i finished week 9 i remember thinking..hmmm what now? You are doing exactly what you need to do!
  20. Phew! Smart ladies!!! Believe me when i get into someting i want to go ALL in and work on it as much as i can. I learned the hard way you have to hold back a little. Thanks for being so open to hearing me out! I JUST want what best for you.
  21. The fastest i can go is 7mph right now..and i can only keep that up for 10mins till i go back down to 6.5. It gets easier. (Kinda)
  22. That sounds COLD
  23. Ladies....Your speeds are FINE! Seriously!!!! DOnt worry about going faster right now. Its all about building up the muscles in your legs and around your knees. Im begging you not to speed it up. As the weeks go by it WILL get more challanging. Right now you are running for time not speed. Dont burn yourself out or even get an injury! You are doing exactly what you need to be doing. The hardest thing on the program is not rushing ahead. Keep it slow and steady right now. Let you body get used to it. I really dont mean to sound mean i just want you to hang in there. Your all doing great so far. And REST you gotta use the rest days. YOu can swim or bike or weight lift or something on your rest days but dont run everyday. Keep It up!!! YOUR DOING FANTASTIC!
  24. Gosh i SOOOO want to do the Muddy Buddy in Chicago ...darn it with the wifes birthday...next year! Good to see you two running!
