Couch to 5k.....come join me!!
This is a fairly doable goal. But it might be rough too. You may feel like you have to repeat some weeks. I think you would be able to do it but you are going to have to be super slow and pace yourself. Its hard to do that on an organized run because you get soo excited at the start with all the excitement you can tend to run to fast to start with. But im behind you all the way!!! Yu can sign up on the day normally so dont feel like you have to pre register.

Couch to 5k.....come join me!!
Actually the C25k program builds up your knees slowly. that why its such a good program. YOu migh think you slowly getting yourself fit but you are building up the muscles around your knees and ankles slowly so you dont get injurys. Thats why the rest day is SOOO important. You have to rest. You going to be tempted to do no rest days sometimes but this is when you can hurt yourself. I would swim or weight lift on days off.

thanks She!

Couch to 5k.....come join me!!
Wow you ladies are rocking. Welcome all the new ones too. For those that dont know me i did the C25K program over Oct,nov 07 so i am here to encouarge you. I can run a 10k now without too much problem. I love Triathlons! There my fav. I would do them every week if i could. I run about 3 5k's a week and try and fit in 1 10k a week. I started when i was around 360lbs or so. Ang: 20mins is super scary. I remember almost panicing when i was on the treadmill ready to start it. But you will shcock your self. Go super slow. You will Love the feeling after. MC Green: It took me till about 6 or 7 weeks to actually enjoy it. When i run 5k's now def the first mile is the worst. Then you kind of get into it. Bonnie: CONGRATS on week 2 being done!!!!!! Way to go! Your doing awesome for yourself.

you know...i get the bowel problem to when i run along way. I wish i knew how to stop. Not gross! Bricks are hard! My worst ever was last weeks Duathlon. 5k run that started uphill 1/2mile straight up..after the hard 20mile bike the same uphill 5k to do. I about died. but as you can tell i didnt. Kudos for taking your husband with you!! Smart Lass!

woooo hooo Amanda! You ROCK! lol! Good for you. Chris! that was a great post! I really enjoyed the 3% rule. Alot of people have told me i am very inspiring. I know there are Lapbanders on here like boo boo kitty that inspired me when i first got my band. My Triathon session got canned last night because of a thunder storm so i went to the YMCA instead. I wanted to try the Fart thing So i ran at 5mph to warm up for 10 mins. Then did 5 mins at 7mph then 5min at 5.0 and 5 at 7.0mph and so on for 45 mins....WOW! it was so cool to go 7.0mph for 5 mins Thanks to you Amanda! ! Then i swam for 45 mins.

Training for a triathlon...
Chris: I just started doing this kind of thing to. Every Weds i work out with a USA Triathlete coach and we do this kind of thing. I only did it one week so far but honestly...when i ran a 5k the next day i felt like i could run a little faster! Interval training is important. In the pool too. If you just run 30mins at the same speed every day you wont ever get any faster type theory. The rest of the week i do just run 5k or 10k or whatever but the interval training once a week is key i think.

100 Pounds in 5 Months!
Thanks all!! YEs Froggi you can...even being a girl.. Eating: I am NO saint when it comes to eating. I have really learned it comes to choices. When i want to snack do i pick a Twix or a granola bar? things like that. And ye i have picked the Twix sometimes. My exercise is the big factor here. I just am very active now. The more weight i lose the easier it is. Stay away from Soft foods!! i do cal count on Sparkspeople in the day when i am at work. I just want ppl that are really high weight to know that 12 months makes a WORLD of difference. Georgia Girl: I remeber you from some of my early days...keep it up! Keep working out...

Thanks Cera!!!! I agree we are pretty close. i been in the same 275-265 for the last 3 months but i have stepped up my game a little and my waist keeps shrinking even though not much weight loss. I need to work out like that P90X stuff but on my own program. I not going to do DVD's. I get into some XL's not all.

there are loads of heart rate monitor watches out there. either with a chest strap or no chest strap. Nothing beats a finger on the neck and a stopwatch.
