I know when I did mine they put tons of little stickers and wires on my scalp. Would your weave make it so they couldn't access your scalp?

    Post op day 12 pain

Yep. I'm pod19. That's where I hurt the most too. I think it's gas and also that's where it hurts when I start to get full. Buy sometimes it hurts there when I drink water. Or stay in one position too long. It's gotten a little less painful each day. Good luck.

    Liquid diet - depression

Oh!! If you're preop I suppose you can ignore the advice about crushing your meds. But maybe add it I the list I questions for your doc. I wish I had.

    Liquid diet - depression

I'm on Zoloft and I wondered the same thing. I was sooo irritable. I was also getting headaches, like the ones I when I forget to take my Zoloft. It made question if I was getting anything from my pills. I started crushing them and the headaches went away. The irritability is about halfway gone.

    2 days till surgery!

I do okay swallowing pills. My main problem is just feeling discomfort when I drink and eat. I feel like everything is all jumbled inside of me. I need to get out and walk more. At least it's not snowing this week!

You must be busy!! Can you handle the isopures? They are the only thing I can do because they aren't chunky. The apple ones aren't bad.

    2 days till surgery!

I can't wait to be able to eat or drink more easily. Drinking more so than the eating. It's such a chore to get down one Isopure and Water. And the food-I haven't thrown up so I'm glad about that but it's still so uncomfortable to eat. God help me- if I wasn't loosing weight I would hate this. The weight loss is very encouraging. Enough to think that I made the right decision. My surgeon never talked to me about what kind of weight loss I'd see and I never looked into it too much. I just myself to hope for 10 pounds a month. I mean, they told me the 65% thing but in my head I thought that was a year out. I've lost 20. I didn't realize how fast it would go. I keep bracing myself for a stall and telling myself that this is more than I ever hoped for so if I whine after loosing over a pound a day I need someone to slap me or something. JK I've had some down times. Week one was the hardest. It was really hard not to eat with my son. He's 10. We live 5 blocks from a little Caesars pizza an for the first time we walked to get the pizza. I've been telling myself to do that for 2 years. Anyway it was too much. The smell was too tempting. I took the cheese topping chewed it and spit it out. That was my low point. I haven't bothered sharing that on here because people are so negative. Week 2 was better. I'm getting used to mind hunger and not craving things I smell. I'm learning the difference between being full and being satisfied. Which for me means eating very very tiny bites. Sorry, this is getting rather long. One last thing-my family is being more supportive of the surgery and my decision. Maybe they're just glad I made it through the surgery. ? The buffet sounds good-and great job-I haven't gone out for a meal yet...kinda nervous. Happy birthday! How old is your son? Mine's 10.

    2 days till surgery!

How are you doing now? We're only 15 days out, can't decide if it feels like more or less than that. I think more.
  10. That looks great. I've been covering my sons spaghetti and I think this may be my answer. I might try melting some cheese on it. Apparently cheese is part of my NUT's purée plan...

    Recovery

For the record:I've never had a surgery before and anesthesia was not kind to me. Sounds like you're some what prepared for that so maybe it'll be easier for you. But I still say plan for help-it'll be easier to send help home than scramble to find it.

    Recovery

I have a 10 year old and I had his dad take him for a week-I was exhausted after my hospital stay and surgery. Surgery was on a Monday and I was out on Wednesday. I'm now at day 16-I feel even weaker than I did then, but I'm off pain meds so I can drive to and from school so I'm back to having him. If you have someone you trust to care for your children-take their help. You'll need it.

    3 1/2 weeks post op-HELP

I'm 2 weeks out, so I haven't hit a stall yet, but everyone says that when you start to stall it is your body going into starvation mode. you should up your calories to get your body burning fat again. And up your protein if it was lower than it should be. I did have a couple of days around 300 calories and I noticed I didn't loose as much so I added a protein drink with real sugar to get in some more calories and protein. It seemed to do the trick-at least until I can take in a bit more at meals.
