Shakes
I used to like some of the shakes, including the Premier Protein, but now they all gross me out. I have to choke them down. I'm just over 2 weeks out and starting cottage cheese, Icelandic and Greek yogurt, bean purees, and other sources of soft protein to meet my minimums. I still choke down one shake in the morning. Blecchhhh!

Beans and carbs
Personally, I love beans, lentils, split peas, etc. It's a great way to get protein and fiber and vitamins if you are vegetarian/vegan and if you like them, of course. If you don't like them, skip it LOL, there are other ways to get the same nutrients. I just think they are really tasty and I love how many different ways you can prepare legumes.

Pickles?
I did this the other day. I worried that the vinegar would upset my tummy, but I took little sips and it was fabulous to have something sour and salty. Didn't have more than an ounce or so.

How to use tofu.....
I like silken tofu cold with soy sauce or firm tofu served hot in pasta sauce (tomato sauces may be too much early on). It's also good heated with a touch of olive oil and herbs, salt and pepper. I love to throw it in Ratatouille. Looking forward to being able to eat that again.

Two weeks full liquid stage
My dr and nut said when you are on full liquids, the ban on liquids during meals doesn't matter since the full liquid diet moves right through and don't hang around. Once we get to soft food we have to start with the no liquid during meals. That said, doctors vary, so I would ask your nut for clarification. I am supposed to keep to around 4 oz for soups, which is about what I do. Can't get much more down, unless it is broth.

Dr requires SF Instant Breakfast mixed with Beneprotein
Yes, El Paso. I've tried switching to other proteins, since I figure it was better to have one they didn't like than be short on protein.

So sick of protein shakes I could barf
Thanks, everyone. I'll try some of Gamergirl's soup recipes. I've been having soup, but mostly strained or blended vegs or beans. Haven't tried blending any protein. Can't wait for scrambled eggs, that's going to help. I'm even getting sick of Greek Yogurt.

So sick of protein shakes I could barf
2 weeks today and I'm so sick of protein shakes. I have a varied selection of different brands and flavors, I even got a range of SF Torani syrups, but it is like torture to get them down now. Hopefully will move to soft foods after my dr visit on Thursday and graduate to cottage cheese and blended soft meats. Anyone else in this boat? Suggestions?

- Fecal Impaction... tmi... HELP!
My dr had me on Bariatric chewable probiotics from the start. I think that helps. However, I noticed that after taking iron I was getting constipated, so I take a Colace on iron days. I also have puréed veg soup.- help me I'm hungry
I was hungry the first couple days, too, but it passes. I'm at 10 days and have to force myself to eat and get liquids down now.- In Mexicali
It gets better, every day. Just be patient and take it easy on yourself.- wow
Whatever it is, it's awesome !- The Journey of a Lifetime (My story 8 months post)
Thanks for posting, very inspirational- Liquids
No it doesn't. It is hard but it gets better.- Vitamin frustration
I'm using Nature's Plus Source of Life liquid vitamins during my full liquids stage. Tastes a bit odd but not awful. Bought it on Amazon. Normally I use Trader Joes chewable multivitamin and plan to return to them when I can.- Couple of items my Dr. Recommended that I haven't seen elsewhere - thought I would share in case it might help others
My dr has me on chewable probiotics. Aren't you supposed to suck zinc, not chew it?- stuck feeling
Try warm or hot tea, that helped me...- Day 8 overdid it
Wow, I really overdid it today. Went back to work, then had to leave after 3 hours. So faint I couldn't stand, sweaty, weak. I had 2 glasses of water, Greek yogurt, and a few sips of protein drink early in the morning, but it was bad. Went home and slept for a couple of hours and had a nice lunch (bean purée, a bite of cream soup) and I'm feeling better now. Keeping the water up so I don't get dehydrated. Anyone else overdo it?- Wondering......
Hmmm, not sure I agree with that article completely. My dr showed stats of 60% average excess weight lost through wls. Perhaps this article uses stats from the band, which everyone is now learning is not the great tool thought at the beginning.- first party I went to since sleeved
You should be so proud of yourself.- Help Going to Italian Restaurant During Puree Stage
Call the restaurant ahead and tell them you can only have puréed food and what do they suggest. I think they'll try to work with you.- Weight regain & non-supportive family members
Honey, moving back home is a bad step. I bet if you change your environment for the better, the weight will come off again. First, stop expecting help from your parents. It sounds like they've pretty much shown you none is coming from that direction. Move on emotionally and that will help you while you are living at home. Second, spend as little time at home as possible. Just sleep and bathe there. Never eat there, take your food with you to school. Get a cooler for your car. You can do this. You've come this far, and you can finish the journey and stay healthy. Good luck and prayers for you.- To tell or not to tell, that's the question
