  1. You should still check with your nut though, all the doctors seem to be a little different.
  2. Lol, it could be right side. My main point was that it could be serious and she should see a doctor.
  3. sounds like it could be appendicitis, if it continues go see your doctor
  4. Thanks folks, this is encouraging. Looks like I'm not the only one who hates narcotic painkillers.
  5. You go! We've got your back!
  6. I've had the (not) pleasure of several surgeries and hospital stays, and I have found that pain meds like vicodin, morphine, etc. make me very, very constipated. After my car accident in 2006 the constipation was so bad, I stopped the pain meds and went cold turkey and the constipation stopped. I have read a lot about people having terrible constipation after their VSG surgery and I'm thinking I will just suffer through the pain rather than subject myself to that again, given that my tummy is already going to be pretty unhappy after surgery. Please share your experience. Thanks.
  7. what a darling baby
  8. This is an interesting topic. As a pre-sleever, I really appreciate all the knowledge I get on these forums, and sure, the glamour stories are awesome. However, for me, the best stories are from people who have kept the weight off (the longer the better), not how fast they lost it.
  9. Walking is the best, I agree. I downloaded a great Android App called Accuped that makes your phone into a pedometer. It rocks! I find myself checking it all the time lol. I think it eats batteries, though.
  10. This is hilarious. You really brightened my day.
  11. Globe, I so heartily sympathize with you. I'm not in the same place, and goodness, you do have a major situation where you are located now, but I do have an interesting story. In my mid-30's I decided to go power blonde. I'm naturally medium brown. As soon as I went blonde, people treated me so differently, it was just bizarre. Men suddenly took much greater care of me, such as personally showing me where things were in the grocery store instead of saying, "it's in aisle 9." I also saw a huge difference in the way women treated me. They were rude! I mean, total strangers were actually rude to me. So weird! And I also couldn't get a job for months. I was in Technology at the time. I remember one job fair where a recruiter said to me, "you aren't really technical, are you?" I dyed my hair red and got a job a week later. No particular lessons from the blonde experiment, but I thought you'd find it interesting. And you blonde ladies out there, try a dark wig for 3 months and see how the other side lives! Good luck to you, Globe, and stay safe.
  12. really, you look great. Look at those collar bones!
  13. When you feel comfortable enough to try it, there are special massage techniques like myofascial and Rolfing that work on muscle memory that could be good for you, based on your last post.
  14. Friends, be strong! From what I hear, the first 6 months are your best opportunity to get the most weight off and it's slower after that. Don't sabotage yourselves by not following doctor's orders when you have put so much into this. If you find yourself sliding, come online and the group will help you.
  15. NeverBe, your tale has me hooked. And you are so beautiful! You don't need a bad influence like that. Can't wait to hear what happens next. I'm guessing these monologues take a lot out of you to write, but I hope it gives you some peace to get it out.

Poor baby! That sounds exactly like an allergic reaction.Benadryl is the way to go. Do you think you might have a latex allergy?
  17. My nut said 4-5 grams of sugar max per meal, and 20 max grams of carbs per meal (and no using leftover sugar or carbs from one meal to the next meal).
  18. Use fat-free ricotta and mozzarella, and I'd cut the parmesan down. Also, sugar-free sauce is best (either homemade or light Pasta sauce that sauce sugar-free). It's amazing how many carbs are in regular sauce!
  19. If you post it to MFP, please make it public
  20. Congrats all of you. It is so inspiring to read this, you give me courage and confidence.
  21. Thanks, Curves, I'll try it. I'm looking for something to add to soup.
  22. I started researching 2 - 3 years ago and first looked into the band, but soon realized (after my first seminar) that VSG made much more sense for me, and that was even before all the news has come out about poor long term outcomes for the band. My reasons for the sleeve: No malabsorption or dumping like bypass Better outcomes than lap band No foreign objects like lap band No continual visits for filling the band Sleeve removes most of your ghrelin (hunger hormone) areas of your stomach, making long term success much more attainable (some hunger does come back I understand)
  23. Congrats Momo! I hope it continues well for you.
  24. I have a Droid 4. Happy to test.
  25. amazing! congrats!
