Getting Nervous but excited to start my new life!

Try to stay busy and keep your mind off food. It's hard when your tummy is rumbling but remind yourself about the life choice you are making. It helped me to make a list of the things I wanted to accomplish when losing weight, other can focusing on the scale and numbers. I kept the list in front of me. Now, after surgery, I'm finally checking some things off that list. It feels so good. You can do the pre op diet. You got this.

    Month 3....72lbs down

You look awesome! Congrats on the weight loss.
  6. It does get easier each day. And remember, now that the "pre-surgery" and "surgery" high has worn off, and things return to normal, you'll experience that sense of "let down" and wonder if the surgery was worth it. It was! Before long you'll feel better and can do all the things you missed...well...except maybe eat that cheeseburger. You got this. You can do it. Be gentle with yourself and remember that you don't have to be perfect.

    Almost there!

Yeah! I know you are excited. I like the Premier shakes that you can purchase from Costco. I've tried most of the protein shakes and Premier is one of the better tasting options. I tried Muscle Milk. Yuck. Yuck. Yuck. Good luck with your surgery date!

    Warm rash but it itches

Try gauze with Neosporin. Use a roll of surgical tape (paper tape variety is easier on the skin) to hold the gauze. Definitely call your doctor, even on call, and tell him or her about the redness.

    coffee drinkers?

As a coffee snob prior to surgery, I worried about this too. Let's just say a quad Grande Skinny vanilla Latte was my passion each morning. Yep...a quad. Sometimes I had more coffee in the afternoon, of course nothing as mundane as the grocery story brand (did I mention coffee snob). Sooo....after surgery....five weeks later, I ordered my old standby and found, to my dismay, that coffee didn't have the same appeal. I took a few sips and my tummy (sleeve) said, "Ok...that's enough." Now, I drink maybe 1/4 cup of just black coffee from the work breakroom...yep, the store brand. Things change after surgery.

    Food progressio?

That's about normal. You definitely want to err on the side of caution. I'm 5 weeks out and still taking a few bites. Eating too fast or too much causes the dreaded "foamies" for me.
  25. Now that's success and determination in action! Great job and thank you for sharing.
