  1. I'm in the same boat...was anything suggested for post op? This morning I was hobbling along, and boy did I want to take something and tylenol just doesn't cut it. ADARGIE, sorry for your pain.....I had a headache that first day and extra strength tylenol helped.
  2. I can't find appropriate clothes to wear to the office this morning......my pants are too big! I've tried putting a belt on them, but the pants just hang from the belt and look silly I haven't lost much weight, but looks like it's all in my waist....now if my hips would shrink at the same rate, I could go down a size LOL For TJohnson.....I think we all have our fears.....best wishes to you.
  3. I think this is normal.... About the nausea....someone on here suggested that before surgery you ask for something for nausea....I had my preop at the hospital today, and asked the anesthesia person about this, and she said to ask before surgery and they would give me something. Just thought I'd share......I don't see any reason to be nauseous after surgery if we don't have to be, right? Good luck!
  4. I did one for my sister.....nothing fancy..an 8x8...took pictures every month of her and put one on each page with a date, her weight loss, and some embellishments.....I wish I had recorded what her thoughts were each month, too....oh well, hind sight is 20/20, right? Good luck!
  5. Just like JerseyGirl, I can't help ya there.............but welcome!!!!
  6. Loftyleo, welcome! How exciting that it's happening so quickly for you! Welcome to the 8/6 Club!
  7. Good luck Altzma!
  8. Oh my gosh you are teeny tiny....what a transformation.....and inspiration. Thank you for sharing your pics.
  9. Welcome to VST!!!! Congrats on the date! I was just the opposite....nervous and doubting myself for months....then I was finally at peace.....and now one week away, I have anxiety again......I know this is the best thing for me, but I'm still anxious. I think the doubting is normal.....this is a huge change.
  10. I also had tubes tied, ablation, and last year was put on a medicine whose side effect is no periods...and I started spotting today......hopefully that's all.....I wonder if it's anxiety about surgery or if it's the small weight loss. Good news is this won't stop the surgery. Good luck on Wed.!
  11. YAY, you did it!!!! AND more importantly, you look AMAZING!!!!!! You said you hope you can do this.....but you ARE doing it, and very well I might add....good for you, and thank you for sharing your pictures.....so very encouraging......Thanks for sharing!
  12. I think this whole journey is going to be hard for awhile. I'm on day 7 -- When things got tough, I'd remind myself that it's only 2 weeks, and I can do this for 2 weeks...And, I stay busy. Luckily I can have broth/boullion.....I use one boullion cube in 16 ounces of Water.....and I think it helps... Call your doctor to see if you can add boullion.....Good luck....you got this!
  13. You may be right about the protein.....the BA has 27 grams per serving.....so I'm getting a total of 103 grams of protein on my plan (3 shakes, 2 nonfat, plain yogurts) I've been mixing BA in the yogurt for a "pudding".....tolerable........however, the Premier Protein RTD drinks are good (30 grams per serving).......by themselves, I like the chocolate better......BUT I like to mix the vanilla in with 4 oz of decaf coffee.....and pour it over lots of ice.......yum! the PP RTD's can be found at walgreens in a 4 pack and at costco in an 18 pack (I purchased it from walgreens first rather than investing in a huge pack from costco)..... Good luck!
  14. Wow, it's difficult to comprehend 3 months can make such a big difference.....congratulations....keep up the good work!!!!
  15. When you start a topic, there should be a link underneath to add a file.....right now as I reply this, I have 2 options "post" and "more reply options".....if I were to hit more reply options, it would allow me to include a picture......hope this helps.
  16. That's the whole thing.....it will be drastic (hopefully) and very noticeable....I like your response. Thanks.
  17. So happy for all of our upcoming sleevers this week.......wishing everyone a great surgery & quick recovery!!!! Looking forward to hearing all about it afterwards!
  18. I've struggled with telling people from the start of this journey. Mostly because I dread the negative reactions and rude comments. Another issue that I have is a direct result from a traumatic event that happened a few years ago. People focused on that constantly, for a couple of years....and it gets old---you try to heal, move on, live a normal life, and they can't help but ask about it, comment about it, and it can be a downer (even if their intentions are good). I don't want people to focus on this (I do enough of it on my own ) This morning I've figured at some point I may tell the truth when asked, but I won't put out a banner announcing it......and gmanbat's post below couldn't have come at a better time. THANK YOU GMANBAT! Source: VSG: status symbol?
  19. So, August 6th is going to be here real soon, and this week I'm preparing things to stash in the freezer for DH to nuke that first week after surgery....'cuz mama's taking a break. I'm thinking pulled pork for sandwiches, cooked spiced chicken for tacos, meatballs, shepherds pie. Anyone else doing the same? or are you families self sufficient? My DH will dust, vacuum, clean the bathroom, laundry.....pretty much everything, but he can't cook.
  20. You an me both.....I think my DH will be thrilled once 8/6 is over and done with LOL I have told one sister and DH, and that's it.....this board is my support and sounding board....Good luck...........and yay for nor more melting in the summer!
  21. I had an EKG in April @ my physical......I was told I needed an EKG before surgery/approval by a cardiologist clearing me for surgery.....so I had one in May......this week at my pre-op appointment, they told me I have to have another because that's too far out.....I wish they'd have told me to schedule the cardiologist appointment closer to the surgery date.....what a waste, ya know? So I have an appointment on Tues. @ the hospital for pre-op testing....they'll do an EGK, blood work, and a chest X-ray. Plus I'll meet with the anesthesiologist.
  22. I wasn't given any exercise limitations.....so I've kept up my exercise regimen, 4X a week
  23. I have told hubby and 1 sibling......using vacation time..., so not telling the office.....haven't told my parents--mom will share it to the aunts/uncles etc....but there are a few people that see me every week, at the gym, etc......and I just don't know what I'm going to say...also trying to figure out what to say to explain a 3 week hiatus from one activity.....
  24. Wow, what a difference a month can make......crossing the knees and baggy jeans.....that IS exciting!!!
