June 25th.....just got approved yesterday.....so my 2week liquid diet has been drastically reduced

This is for my late june sleevers....those of us that are pushing through that liquid phase this last week..
If your getting sick of sweet Protein Shakes and popsicles, but can't find an edible broth try the little flavor packets that come in the ramen noodles...their 20cents at Wal-Mart, you can add unflavored Protein, and they taste pretty good. Just make sure you drink enough Water bc they have a high amount of salt.

The information I got was 1 week of liquids pre-op. My plan is to use the HMR shakes. I don't anticipate it being too bad, since 10 years ago I did them for 6 months. Lost 100 pounds, but gained them back. Hopefully the surgery will be the tool to resolve my binge eating disorder and yo-yo dieting. This won't be my first rodeo... I've lost over 100 pounds 3 times with diet and exercise. They say when you lose it, you find it, so this time I'm getting rid of it !!!! My plan is to post my beginning stats the day I start my pre-op liquid diet. My surgery is scheduled for Aug. 1st.

My surgeon doesn't do a pre-op liquid diet of any kind. When I questioned my NUT about it, she said "their outlook in this Center of Excellence is that the post-op liquid diet is challenging enough; we simply expect you to have liquids-only after dinnertime the night before surgery, and nothing at all to eat or drink past midnight."
That's about as different as can be from a one or two-week pre-op liquid diet!

Hello again my people, its been a while. I just wanna say to everyone who is having second thoughts about getting sleeved...... Yes it is a tough journey in the beginning, only because you're making a life altering decision. Not only are you changing your appearance, you're changing your health and mentality. With that said.......think of this , for my health alone it was well worth it. But as a bonus I feel better than I ever have. My diabetes.....gone........high blood pressure.....gone......sleep apnea.......gone. so if you're having second thoughts just re-evaluate your personal situation, and see what it would be worth to you. Its your life and only yours. But I can honestly say its the best decision of my life so far. Iwas sleeved 9/04/12 and i started out at about 419-420lbs, today I'm 203lbs. And no worries if u follow the docs and dietitians advice plus trial and error, you will find what makes your journey more comfortable. Oh and the changes don't take long to get used to the first month is the hardest but its also the time you lose the most. So family I say think about it, and pray about it. You'll find your answer. Submitted to insurance on June 10th. Called insurance everyday to no avail...then I called today an low and behold 5:12 on Friday figured i'd call one more...when the guy said "APPROVED", I literally had a rush of emotions....thank you Jesus surgery is scheduled for Tuesday

Remember everyone I know we are all dying to taste some real food but please do your best to follow your doctors instructions. I keep telling myself I am stronger than the food that I have consumed all these years that helped me blossom to 303 pds. Mind over matter..We are stronger than the food we put into our mouths. Take a walk, read a book, watch a movie, drink a few sips of your favorite Protein Shake (we can never get enough of those good ole Protein drinks) or just take a nap. Be strong

Approved in one day! Date aet for July 8th! Two weeks! Nervous and excited!

I received the call yesterday that I was approved for surgery! So I started trying to get my ducks in a row on all my copays, deductibles, and other expenses so I would be prepared when they give me my date.
Called the surgeon's office, I owed a 1$ for my portion bc I had a credit with them!
Called the hospital, I owe $320.00 and I have already met my $150.00 deductible so all I owed the day if surgery was $100.00!! So for $101.00 I will have my surgery!!!

I'm June 19th too!! YAY
I'm nervous and hearing all these positive stories gives me hope. Praying for all the sleevers out there.

With surgery just a few days away, I decided to write this post and PROMISE to post my immediate pre and post op experience. I have followed several "pre sleevers" only to have them stop posting once they had their surgeries. I get it. We all have lives and have those things that come up. I place no blame. But, I also know that there are others, who have upcoming surgeries, that will benefit from seeing the experience of others posted immediately. If I can calm the nerves of just one person, well then I would be happy.
So to my fellow June Sleevers....... I promise to post my daily experience (God willling..... and I soooooo hope he is!) on this thread for the entire month of June.
In closing, I hope you will join me on this journey. Cheers to a new you!!!!!!!

If they give me a choice, I may opt for a catheter...makes life so much easier! Glad to hear your surgery went well & that you're already bouncing back! Hope I'm as fortunate as you when I get sleeved!

I was up and walking about 3 hours after surgery. Very tired and I do have gas pain in shoulder and at drain site but otherwise fine. No problems sipping my Water and G2. Even ate a little Jello. The Iv fluids are making me have to pee constantly which is annoying. So far better than expected. No buyer's remorse

I have Anthem. My doctor's office submitted it Friday before memorial day, and I called insurance to check the status on Tuesday afternoon and it was approved.
I didn't have to wait on the insurance at all... it was the doctor's office that dragged their feet. But I'm scheduled now, so all is forgiven.

I just called and they told me to call back tomorrow. I talked to a super nice lady.
Not even five minutes later she called me back!
I'm APPROVED! I started crying. Wow.

This seems to have the potential for some serious consequences. But what I hear you saying is that you are frustrated and want to be thin now. I am craving a piece of toast with Peanut Butter and berries on it, but none of those items are on my approved list of foods. So I will have a Protein drink (yuck).

I fit into a pair of levi's I have held onto since 2001 !!!!!!!!!!!!! I CANT BELIEVE IT !!!!!!!!!!!!!! HAPPY DANCE .....

That's a big NSV! Congrats. I have a pair or two of old jeans/pants/capris winking at me, while waiting to be conquered. Good for you!

My date is scheduled for July 1st. I was very excited but now am having second thoughts based on different Threads. Praying this feeling will pass. So Glad to have found this particular Thread????????????????????
