You are already eating cottage cheese?? Gees...that's not on my eating list until 20 days out. With you only being 4 days out, I would think you'd still be on Clear liquids only...but I know every doc is different.
Either way, I'm not sure that caused your fatigue. Are you getting in your fluids? Hope you feel better soon.
And "dumping" would equal you being on a toilet as your body "dumps" your stomach's contents.

Experiences vary from person to person but yours sounds similar to mine. At first I could only drink half an ounce of Water but was able to progress to a full ounce then a few gulps at a time. Never had any issue with Protein Shakes and can drink one now as fast as I could preop.
Don't push your luck, however. Now is not a good time to test whether you can eat actual food. I hope that you continue to have a noneventful recovery.

The 1st one I can think of is: I won't feel hungry after surgery.
Sure the part of our stomach that produces ghrelin is gone and our physical hunger is reduced or even eliminated... but no one can tell me that "head hunger" doesn't feel real and powerful!

I only use about 10 eggs which makes a dozen muffins for me. I use a cup of shredded cheddar, green and red peppers, green onions, and Smokey River meat Company turkey Breakfast sausages. With the way I make them, stats are approximately
    126Cal 3g Carbs 12g fat 9g Protein 1g Fiber 0g sugar
These are super delicious, like scrambled eggs to go!
    Egg Muffins Revisited
(Makes 12 muffins, recipe created by Kalyn with inspiration from The South Beach Diet book.
    Ingredients:
15 eggs (for silicone muffin pans, use 12 eggs for metal muffin tins or individual silicone cups. You can use less egg yolks and more egg white if you prefer.)
1-2 tsp. Spike Seasoning (optional, if you have food allergies or don't have Spike, use any type of seasoning blend that's good with eggs.)
1-2 cups grated low fat cheese (I like sharp cheddar or a blend of cheddar/Jack cheese, use less cheese if using meat)
Optional, but highly recommended, 3 green onions diced small.
Optional: chopped veggies such as blanched broccoli, red pepper, zucchini, mushrooms, etc. (Using veggies will reduce the fat content)
Optional: diced Canadian bacon, lean ham, or crumbled cooked turkey sausage
    Instructions:
Preheat oven to 375 F. Use regular or silicone muffin pan, 12 muffin size. If using silicone pan, spray with nonstick spray. If using regular muffin pan, put two paper liners into each slot, then spray liner with nonstick spray.
In the bottom of the muffin cups layer diced meat, if using, vegetables, if using, cheese and green onions. You want the muffin cups to be about 2/3 full, with just enough room to pour a little egg around the other ingredients. Break eggs into large measuring bowl with pour spout, add Spike, and beat well. (I used to add a bit of half and half or milk, but lately I like the way they turn out without it.) Pour egg into each muffin cup until it is 3/4 full. I like to stir slightly with a fork. Bake 25-35 minutes until muffins have risen and are slightly browned and set.- See more at: http://www.kalynskit...h.NejoLn4U.dpuf

rebecca_dsu reacted to jzipzip in First appointment with doc post-op, SUPER HAPPY
I just had my first appointment with surgeon after being sleeved on June 7th, and in those six days I'VE LOST 17 LBS!!!!!
CRAZYYY! I am pretty floored. I weighed myself the morning of surgery and I was 446, got on the doctor's scale (after being too afraid to get on this week) and it read 429!!! It made me super duper happy!
My recovery was actually much better than I anticipated. I don't have ANY pain anymore (and when I did the first 2 days I took an advil). I think it has something to do with the doc using robotics for the surgery. He was able to see a 3D image rather than 2D which allowed his movements to be more precise.

Folks. all this is just temporary. Your life after sleeve is pretty much normal. You won't be busting out at the buffet, or knocking back a large pie with extra cheese, but you can resume living and I promise you will live much better than your are now. Try to hang in there and focus on the long run. This process is equally tough mentally as it is physically.
just so you know, I went to lunch today with a friend. She wanted to go mexican, so we did. I had a nice, but healthy lunch and totally enjoyed the conversation and company. You'll be fine. If this is making you crazy/depressed etc. take the opportunity to figure out why. Maybe that reason is why you are going through the WLS process......

I got rid of a bunch of clothes in the good will but I soon realized I couldn't continue to do this. So I bought a sewing machine on craiglist for $20. Little by little, I am altering everything. No wonder rich people like custom made clothes, they fit perfect. Thanks Mom for teaching me to sew. Even doing the hubby's things.

As for drinking... try taking a sip, and then taking a deep breath afterwards... I learned this trick during the barium test (the doc showed me), and it makes the Fluid go on down in to your stomach. (Can't hurt to try).
Sorry you are feeling bad, it will get better... so as WilsonPhillips would say "Hold on for one more day, day, day...."

I went to work for my nephew who has a Deck and Dock business here in Tampa, Florida. He needed help packing Water retainers in 2 backyards. The job consisted of a dump truck dropping a huge mound of dirt in the driveway, the dirt being shoveled into heavy wheel barrows and wheeled to the backyard and dumped into the form, and then tamped down with a heavy tamper....all day.
I worked 6-7 hours a day, Monday- Wednesday with 2 guys in their 20's in 93 degree humid Florida air. My young fellow workers complained the whole time and took frequent breaks, even took off to McDonalds to "go to the bathroom". Old Gman just kept plodding along only stopping for Water and a Peanut Butter sandwich. I told them stories of my long life and had great fun with them.
It's been a year and a half since my surgery. I have lost 85 pounds since then, 115 all together. Before the surgery I could barely walk up the stairs. I have been working out for the last year, stepping up the intensity every chance I could. I didn't know if I could do this job, working out is quite different from working all day in blazing hot sunlight and stifling humidity.
    I stood the test. I am 64.

Hi everyone. Rebecca here. I am in the very beginning stages of getting ready for pre-surgery. I'm pretty certain I am going with Dr. Aceves in Mexicali. If you have any thoughts on him, let me know, though I've seen lots of positive comments about him on this forum. I am having to pay out of pocket because my insurance does not cover any bariatric surgeries.
My story goes something like this: I've been obese since I was 5. In 5th grade I weighed roughly 165. By the time I was 18 I was around 275. In 2005 at age 25, I reached my high of 320, and finally started working on my health. Over the next 2 years I dropped 75lbs by simple lifestyle changes, eating less, incorporating exercise. Then from mid 2008 til now, I have struggled beyond belief every day through gain/loss cycles trying everything from Weight Watchers, Medifast, The Eat Clean diet, Calorie counting on MyFitnessPal, etc only to roller coaster up and down between 256 and 215. (5' 8")
215 is the lowest I ever saw (and was the lowest in my adult/teen life), and it only lasted 1 week before I shot back up. It's so frustrating. Finally, a few weeks ago, weight loss surgery came to mind and I began researching like mad. I was sad to find my insurance didn't cover the surgery, so I started "shopping around". To have the surgery here in east Tn, I'm looking at $18k by the time all is said and done. If I fly out to San Diego total cost including the flight I've chosen is going to be around $10,000. It's worth it to me to fly out.
I know how to eat right. I know how to cook healthy real meals. I know how to exercise. What I can not do is tame my appetite and this large stomach which takes forever to fill. You can only eat so much raw broccoli and spinach in an attempt to fill this thing before you get frustrate
Thank you all for sharing your experiences and successes. It means so much.
