  1. I'm sorry those hurtful things were said to you.

I don't see in your picture that you look like a little old man...other than the fact you are wearing light colored jeans...ha! Maybe it's time for a fashion make over ;) So my suggestion...go shopping and buy clothes that are a little more "in"...dark, skinny jeans to go with your new body. Flip through some magazines and see what's "in" for guys in their thirties, and go with it.

Get rid of the little old man image of light jeans and polos...ha!

You have done an amazing job. Be proud of yourself...we are!

  2. What airline are you flying with? Check their "customers of size" policy on their website.

Airline seats are 17 to 18" wide. If you aren't flying with a person who is smaller than you and you can "share" their space (like I did with my little bitty husband), then for your comfort and the people next to you, you probably do want to buy 2 seats. Some airlines will refund the cost of the second seat if the flight isn't full.

Even my arse at 260 and 5'8" is wider than 17" when seated. (to check yours, simply sit on a tape measurer. And it's not just the width of your arse, it's the broadness of your shoulders. If they are going to be over the line and into the next person's seat, then it is best to buy 2 seats (or fly business class if you have airline points or the funds).

It sucks, but it's another "cost" of being obese.

    Happy flying!

  3. Well, let's see.... not only are you asking your body to just live on minimal energy, but you are asking also asking it to workout on minimal energy. Your body needs food. Yes it can use fat to "survive", but it's going it's not going to be "energetic". You have got to eat the minimal 600 - 800 calories (the top of that range if you are working out), and you have to get in the required fluids and protein.

So no, it's not normal to feel weak & tired if you are following the eating guidelines.... but yes you will feel weak & tired if you are not giving your body what it needs. Also, are you taking those Vitamins including B-12??

Give your body what it needs, and it will give you the energy you need. :)

  4. I already have really thin hair (pre surgery), so I'm being diligent to take my biotin, multivitamins and vitamin e every day before surgery, as well as getting in atleast 80 to 100 grams of protein per day. I don't know if it will help or not, but it sure won't hurt to try ;)

  5. Good decision buts its not a quick fix. The discipline of the pre-op diet was hard for me and then to realize its a mainstay afterwards caught me by surprise. I guess I never really thought beyond the surgery, the pain, and recovery. I was so focused on pre and post surgery. However, after the doctor gave me the green light this week to begin regular food I'm realizing that how I eat and what I eat is very different. It's all good but the surgery forces a lifestyle change that is forever. I think I missed the forever part.

I wish you much success and a successful surgery. Even with a couple of minor complications, I would do the surgery again. I want to be healthy.

I'm very ready for the change in eating habits forever. I know it won't be a pleasant process, but it is so much better than the yo-yoing. And once I get that truely "adventure ready" body, I won't want to give it up.
