I'm October 3! I start my ten day liquid diet on Monday. I'm sooooo ready!

I'm October 8th!! Yay!

OCTOBER 9TH!!!!! YIPPIE!!!

Everything was a breeze! My surgery is a go! 7 more days!!!!

I get my official surgery date for October today at 3pm!!!! Yippie!!! So excited and looking forward to it. Thinking week of October 18th but we will see. This has been an amazing journey with so much more to come!

Its official...November 19th...so far, yet so close....1 more appt with surgeon 2 weeks before then a little blood work & I am done!!! A lone haul since March....

If I get down to a size 10 (maybe I should say when-lol) I will probably faint first...then get up and dance! Amazing experience I would guess. Congrats! Keep up the great work!

Who just shimmied her former fat ass into a size 10 pair of GV jeans and had enough room to sit and even have a meal without busting out? Who? Who?

Insurance approved my surgery today. I'm so excited even though I don't have a surgery date yet.
Next time you hear from me will be when I get my date! Woohoo!

We went to a hibachi grill. The one that cooks the food in front of you. Well this place apparently puts teriyaki sauce on EVERYTHING. Ugg. My scallops & shrimp blew out my a 15 minutes later in their bathroom. Later when I took my daughter to the bathroom they had an 'out of order' sign on the door! LOL. Seriously? It's not like I **** all over the wall.... I didn't miss the toilet. I PROMISE! We made a hasty retreat and never went back. Sorry Kobe Grill.

::hugs:: that really sucks. Maybe you could go down to party city & get some luea stuff & make a staycation? Get a bucket of sand to put your feet in, a poster of Hawaii, cd of music, make a pork roast... Etc.

I start my presurgery liquid diet tomorrow for a week. I cannot believe in 1 short week, my life is going to change completely! I've been prepping, preparing, and DREAMING about this for years!!! However, as excited as I am, I'm finding myself equally nervous and scared. I know I'm not alone in this. Any words of advice from the "pros" who have gone through this on how to calm the nerves? I'm feeling a bit like Rapunzel in Tangled where she goes through intense happiness to extreme panic. Help a girl out!

Wow i cant believe i started this journey way back in april. It was long and short at the same time if that makes sense. I just scheduled my second and final consultation with my surgeon for 9/26! I am freaking out! This weekend i have my final weigh in with my PCP at which ill finally get clearance from her and whatever else she has to give me and next monday i have my final appt scheduled for the gastroenterologist clearance! Im so nervous and excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Still keeping my fingers crossed for an oct surgery date but we will see. Thanks so much to all those along the way who have been so helpful and supportive.

Nope... see/call the MD. You want this resolved. I am lucky, after the first couple weeks I have been OK. (PS, there's never TMI here...)

Today I had my pulmonary function testing done. It is the last clearance I need before my paperwork is submitted to insurance!!!! I am really hoping for a quick approval and to be scheduled sometime in October. That is my prayer. I am an October baby anyway. It would be great if I could have the same month for my "rebirth" of sorts too! I am so hopeful and excited. Fingers crossed and God willing...

I recently had my Gastric Sleeve Surgery on August 26, 2013 with Doctor Pete Rantis at Alexians Brothers Hospital. He did a FANTASTIC JOB!! What a Great Surgeon, I could not believe how fast my recovery was. I was walking 10,000 steps the day of surgery with minimal pain. My starting weight was 417 with a BMI of 58.2. I was diagnosed with a severe case of sleep apnea which has improved with the little weight loss to date, My current weight is 375 with a BMI of 52.3. I’m very excited with my choice so far.
I’m currently in the pureed phase about to start my soft foods. Any good recommendations for what soft foods to start on?

My thighs have always been big, even at a size 2, they were larger than most because if genetics and soccer. Now that I am losing weight, my thighs resemble melting candle wax. It's actually kind of amusing although I do hope the skin catches up with the weight loss, even a little. Instead of chub rub, I now have flap slap when I do martial arts. I can actually hear them slapping together when I do spinning kicks. GROSSSSSSSS!!!!
