Help! Protein is killing me!
You have a lower starting weight than a lot of people. (You're like me!) And you lost 10 pounds in 9 days. That's over a pound a day--a terrific loss! If you have a lower BMI to start with, you're closer to goal, so you won't lose as fast. You are doing nothing wrong!

Help! Protein is killing me!
Have you tried WonderSlim Protein drinks? They have a mint hot cocoa, which is great. And right now I am drinking the Tangy Orange Protein Drink. Mixed with Water, it's basically like Crystal Light with protein. Also like the shakes that you can make into puddings by adding less water are pretty good. Their stuff has been my saving grace! http://www.dietdirect.com/wonderslim-weight-loss-products-82.html#. BTW, I was sleeved on the 18th--my sleeve buddy! Amy

Not feeling full
I am shocked at the size of your servings. I was told 1/3 c. -1/4c. in week 3. I'd also rethink oatmeal and mashed potatoes. Are you still able to get in your protein? That should be priority #1!

Oh Baby sleeve--I think I loove you!
Day 6.5 post-op and I feel good! Not just mildly good, I'm talking standing, sitting, walking, wrapping, singing, pooping (TMI?) good. My nausea is gone, so are the meds, liquids and jello consistency food going down without a problem, incisions seem fine. I am so glad. There were moments immediately after I woke up in the hospital that I felt I had made a mistake. A lot of it is mind over matter, and I'm glad my body is cooperating. Merry Christmas everyone! Amy

Hurt feelings and now I want to stuff it down with bad food...HELP
Is it possible to allow yourself a few bites of something without sliding? Sometimes it is, sometimes it's not. I just worry that if you succumb to the food, you will feel even worse. (Like when any addict comes down from the high.) I don't know if I am very helpful here, but I know how you feel, and I hope you will feel better soon!

Is broth important?
Broth is just a liquid alternative--no real nutrients to speak of. I have found vegetable broth a lot easier than chicken broth. Welcome home! I got home on Saturday, and it does get better every day.

5 Days post-op. The chronicles of UGH to Woo Hoo!
OK--it's true what they tell you. Every day gets better. Surgery is not fun, and yes, I had a moment or 2 there in the hospital when I regretted it . My side effects were nausea, nausea, and more nausea. It felt like I made the decision to give myself the flu, and I doubted it would ever go away. I am currently weaning myself off the 4 nausea drugs that were sent home with me, and so happy to report I have been drinking, eating sugar-free popsicles, and a bit of cottage cheese. The Ugh: 1. My Afib acted up during surgery, so I ended up on the cardiac floor for 4 days. Not fun. 2. Trying to drink and retching non-stop. 3. The barium swallow. 4. Feeling at times like I was hit upside the head by a 2x4. The Woo Hoo!: 1. I did it! 2. Nausea is better. 3. Drinking Water gives me a great sense of accomplishment. 4. Every day is so much better than the last. 5. Incisions don't hurt too much, and I imagine I will have few scars. 6. On my way to a healthier new me! Amy

Something poking out of one of my incisions?
It sounds like a suture. Don't mess with it. You don't want to make it too small for the surgeon to repair if necessary. Just give the doc's office a call before your appt. I'm sure it isn't anything to worry about.

Illegal Stomach Immigration
Your post reminds me that everyone wondering what "sub-standard food" means should watch the documentary "food Inc." (you can find it on Netflix/Youtube.) It's fascinating to see what we are really eating and how the health of Americans is sacrificed for the good 'ole American dollar.
