Getting enough liquids in?
Whatever works!

Just found out my husband is trying to cheat!
What bothers me most about these types of scenarios are the "other women" involved. What are they thinking? Are they so desperate that they would destroy someone's marriage? Do they really think a man who would leave his wife and children is worth having? Would a woman who would seduce a married man be worth anything? I know we can't control the acts of other people, but as women we need to keep our female friends and family in check. The fantasy is never worth destroying the sanctity of marriage.

Can & Can'ts of Gastic sleeve
coffee, nuts, and raw fruits and veggies are banned for me until I hit the 3 month mark. The only other things that are completely a no-no are carbonated beverages and drinking through a straw.

My Journey
Good luck! I have seen a lot of people have these types of revisions on here with a lot of success.

***FYI on Sleeve***
This was a condition of my surgeon's office, not insurance.

Question about care credit
A credit card with very high interest, based on my recollection.

One year later and 125 pounds lighter - with pictures!
This is the coolest, hot stuff! Great job.

2 days post op
My only words consolation are it will get better and better with every passing day. Also, I used a heating pad on my shoulder because the air caused it to ache, and that helped a lot.

Insomnia-sleeping with a partner
Because my husband is an occasional insomniac, total light-sleeper, I enjoy the spring, summer, and fall when he will sleep in our sun-room instead of in bed with me. It makes me much happier since my sleep is not interrupted by his need to wake me at the slightest noise. We have been happily married for nearly 12 years, living together for 16, and I think sleeping apart from him is the best decision we have ever made. I bed down with a little doggie, a cat or 2, and an occasional child, and am happy as a bug in a rug!

Good luck! We'll be thinking of ya!

Sleeve surgery booked for March 14th - lets do this!
I have kept most of it private from work friends. A few questions about how I am feeling and a few comments about how well I am looking is far better for me than the stigma of WLS among the uninformed. Best of luck to you! You will be so glad you did it!

Having Trouble Eating
I wish I knew how to help you. The stress you must be feeling with every fiber of your being! My only thought is to do what you can to relieve some of the stress, and think of the food as medication you need to survive. Keep whatever you can see as the most palatable on hand and quick to grab--yogurt cups, protein bars, string cheese, anything. You need the calories/protein and the fluids or you'll end up in the E.R., which will only make matters worse. Sending some cyber love your way. Hope it gets better soon!

mirena and post op period
Interesting. I have had the Mirena for 7 yrs. and had the same experience. I chalked mine up to the fact that I am now on Pradaxa, a blood thinner. The first time I noticed a period, I went out and bought pads and liners and tampons, but it was unnecessary. I only need an occasional pantyliner when my period hits. (But I never really needed those before surgery.)

How much weight did you loose, before you could really notice a change in your apperance?
After I lost about 15 pounds, my family noticed because I lost it all in my face, neck, upper arms, and shoulders. Once I hit 25 pounds, I noticed it in my waist. (Which used to stick out further than my hips, now they are pretty much a straight line.) When I have lost weight in the past, I never noticed my shape changing, but this time around I had so much more to lose, so even 26 pounds shows quite a difference.

Cold feet and fear of lack of discipline
The morbidity rate of someone who has a 50 BMI is higher than the potential for complications with WLS. Someone once said, "How many people do you see walking around at 70 who are over 250 pounds?"For what it's worth, I have seen many people who have been successful with WLS, and none of them looked ill or waxy. I know I am looking pretty damn good! That being said, if you are not ready for this surgery, don't let anyone force you into it. You will only be bitter, and if you're not committed to the work necessary to make it succeed, it won't.

I'd slow down in terms of amount. Lobster is pretty tender, and before you know it, you've eaten more than a half cup portion. (Which is what I assume you are probably eating right now.) Also, my program says no shellfish until you're at least 8 weeks out. (I have no idea why, and I tend not to et it, so I didn't ask...) I hope you're feeling better!

Bread/pasta question
My thin, healthy, vegan hair stylist has chosen to avoid grains and focuses on nuts, fruits, and vegetables. She told me that after a while, she stopped craving them, and I've found that true for me too. I was a total starch addict. I still eat beans, and I imagine eventually I will need the fiber of oatmeal, and a little slice of pizza for fun, but for now I am satisfied avoiding grains. I really miss sushi, and I love the idea of riceless rolls! Why didn't I think of that????

Quest bars are Poo Bombs
Personally, I would love a poo bomb right now. My ammo. is dangerously low and I fear a blocked cannon. And I've been eating Quest bars regularly.

How far out from surgery are you? You most likely didn't "stretch" your pouch, but that's a lot of food for someone to consume with a new sleeve. Has the discomfort eased? If not, call your doctor.
