mytime2shine reacted to Carole Flower in Houston-SETX Sleevers?!
Hi,
I had my VS on April 4, 2013 and I can now say "I love my sleeve!"
Every day is wonderful and then again not. Right now it’s a day by day process. I'm still trying to find out what works for me as far as scheduling my meals and Snacks. I have found, if I drink something in the AM before I eat Breakfast. It throws everything out of whack. I eat breakfast and have my Protein Drink later in the morning. I'm still not eating that much but I do get my Protein in, fluids intake daily and my Vitamins. This is the most important thing to do for me. I have not really started to exercise. It's on my list of things to do tomorrow. I have lost 60 lbs. My mother is 86 and I hope I will be around at least that long.If I can do this you can too I had my VS in Sugarland. SW of Houston

Talked to Dr today. He told me not to worry about calories. Keep Protein & fluids in check. Body is adjusting & weight loss will happen. Made me feel a little better :@)

Yep. Three week stall. Happens to the majority as far as I've seen.
I lost 15lbs in the first two weeks and then didn't budge for two, almost three, weeks after that. Since then I've lost 2-3lbs a week quite steadily!
Don't worry, it WILL start moving again. Just keep your Water and Protein intake up and definitely start some moderate exercise like walking.

As the others have said it is very common to have stalls throughout the journey, a lot of times you can see your progress if you look at things other then the scale. But know that if you are eating 600 calories a day you will most definitely keep losing and one day you will wake up and find a sizable loss after your stall. Good Luck, enjoy your journey, stay positive.

mytime2shine reacted to feedyoureye in how long is the 3 week stall?
Some never get this stall, but mine was 4 weeks long. How can you NOT lose weight eating only 300 calories a day? Thats the magic of the three week stall! It will start coming off again, I promise.. just keep up the good work. If you follow the docs rules.... you can search the three week stall here too for many stories.

When I was in first few months of post op and trying to get it all in, I made sugarfree pudding and mixed in Protein powder. I would add a scoop or two of Protein Powder and blend it for a couple of seconds and then add the pudding. Getting the Protein from the skim milk and the powder really helped me get those calories and protein up to where it should be.
Good luck, it will get better each week.
P.S. also try to get in more fluids, you are a bit short on that.
