  1. I can start having creamy soups in two days. Can I just make potato soup, but healthier? Is it ok to have salt and pepper and onions in it?
  2. when you start with thicker food, you will get the full feeling. The feeling may or may not be what you are used to. I had it one time so far and didn't realize it at first, but it was enough to make me quit eating what I was and I did get nauseous, but didn't vomit. Now I know what it feels like.
  3. I have the craving too. I think everyone does. I would LOVE a pulled pork sandwich right now! I am able to eat a whole fudgesicle and then I go right to drinking my tea. I eat/drink one thing at a time. Just take it easy and you will be ok.
  4. everyone is told so many different things. I was sleeved on the 3rd. I am allowed to eat: flavored water (less then 10 calories) Tea and can add sugar sub. SF Popsicles, fudgesicles ( I have been living off of fudgesicles (40 calories) SF jello broth crystal light I can have any of that till day 10
  5. I see so many of us are allow to eat many different things as the same stage post-op. I am 8 days post-op and would like to know what ya'll are/were allow to eat this week? I am only allowed clear fluids till day 10. Then I can try Diet V8, milk, yogurt, pudding, cream soups, and apple sauce.
  6. they are all gross! I am the same as you. It is actually the one like that almost made me not have surgery because I hate it that bad. I will see I think you would do so much better with the premixed ones. I have found one that I can drink alittle at a time. It is a premixed choc. and I put it in the freezer to get it very cold with ice sickles in it. I get a cup and pour alittle at a time so the rest can stay in the freezer and stay cold. The name is EAS myoplex original. I have the choc. and it is VERY creamy and choc taste. 17ozs and 42g protein. It is going to be hard since you don't have the money to get something else to try.
  7. I did the same thing about wanting food around the day 6 mark. I am at day 7 and feeling much better. Just wait till you go to the doctor and weigh in on the scale and you will see why we are doing this and you will feel better. Just take your time. This is not just another surgery! This is the rest of your life! and it goes by fast enough, so don't rush! Sit back and enjoy your new healthy life and body!
  8. I am down to 216 from 235 in one week! 19 pounds gone! I have not weighed this in years. My husband has never seen me this small, I love it! The doctor said everything was good and then I had to talk to the nutritionist. she said to start taking some vitamins and start my protein shake.
  9. Went to my one week appointment this morning and was shocked when it showed I weighed 216! One week ago I weighed 235! I am so happy. I was wondering though, what did others lose at their one week post-op?
  10. feeling a bit depressed. I feel so good as if nothing has happened and keep thinking to myself: Oh, my hubby and I could go eat this or that and I have to remind myself that I can't!
  11. Never owned a scale and it will most likely stay that way. I don't really care what it says. I depend on clothes!
  12. I have a bottle that has ozs on it. I feel it up and drink it through out the day. It only goes up to 25 ozs so I have to refill it . I also keep of with what I have eaten that day and take into account about how much fluids that would be to.
  13. momofjal posted a blog entry in momofjal's Blog
Feeling much better today! I took my pain pump out last night and finally had a BM this morning. My vision is getting better since the pump is gone. Go Monday for post-op. Can't wait to see how good my sleeve is working!
  14. I have been very nauseous today and have not got my 40ozs in today. I also have problems with seeing things. Things that are up close are very blurry, but I can see thing far away a little bit better. I have never had eye problem. I have slowed up on pain meds and hoped it would help with the eye problems, but it has not worked so far. Also hoping that I can finally go to the bathroom and bloating will go away.
  15. I have been doing very well. I love my doctor for sending me home with liquid pain meds and a pain pump. I feel that I have been eating all day! I have had around 20ozs of water, 2 sf popsicles, 1 fudgesicle, broth, and some jello. I ate a the popsicles and the fudgesicle. A little bit of the broth and jello. I have not gotten sick and hope I don't! I also have not felt full yet either! Will give an update later in the week. Carla
  16. I too had surgery Monday. I was very sore, but doing good other wise. I have been walking since the night of my surgery. I have been taking Gas X chewables. If the pills and strips don't work. The chewables have been doing well for me. My doctor sent me home with Loratab liquid and a pain pump that is inserted in my stomach and is good for 5 days. Now I am just waiting on bowel movement. I have been keeping something by me at all times and sipping on it to stay hydrated. Good Luck!
  17. Just wondered everyone get the same size tummy after surgery? Do they decide per person or do they have a tool that is a guide for the doctors to use on anyone?
  18. I am on day one of post-op also. I feel alittle rough, but not to bad. Hope you start to feel better.
  19. First time to ever blog! Today is clear fluids only and is the only day that I had to do it pre-op. Tomorrow is surgery day! Have to be at the hospital around 2:30pm. I am ready to be healthy not only for myself, but my three kids, husband and body! I can't wait to see what the future holds for me and my beautiful family! Carla
  20. leaving for the hospital tomorrow. Gotta be there for 2:30pm! Who's with me?
  21. I too am having surgery on June 3rd. and don't have to do a preop diet. Only clear liquids the day before. Just hope and pray for the best! Good Luck!
  22. June 3rd from Louisiana! Very nervous, but hoping and praying for the best! Can't wait to see everyone elses progress as we grow smaller together
  23. I am 26 years old with three kids (two boys 5 yo & 2 yo, one girl 1yo) and a husband of two years. I am from Louisiana and my surgery date is June 3rd. I need to have this done to get healthy for my family. I have a fatty liver which may not seem like much, but my mom found out she has cirrhosis from her having a fatty liver for so long! I am a nervous wreck thinking about surgery. Yes I have had other surgeries before, but this is different. I wish us all a long healthy life!
