Thanks newat52 & traycrow! Ill be praying for your surgery on thursday, tray & for everyone on here who's going thru this. Im still scared. I do pray & my faith is strong, but i still get the fear bug now & again. In the bible, God says "be not afraid" 365 times. He knew we 'd need to hear it repeatedly! . I know we'll all be fine. I will be so happy when I've got one week under my belt like newat52. Will try to post tomorrow after surgery....or maybe the next day. :-0

I realize, as a guy, that women are treated more unfairly than men with all aspects weight, particularly by other women. That said, and though I'm not screaming it from the rooftops, I will tell anyone who inquires about my weight loss that I've had this procedure. Though it wouldn't be lying to say I've decreased my carbs and calories, upped my liquids, etc, it wouldn't be the whole truth either.
Everyone knows someone struggling with their weight. Suppose I saw a client who congratulated me on my weight loss and asked how I did it. Let's say I told them all of the reasons except for the one main reason, the reason we are all here, how I lost weight. Wouldn't that give them fuel to say to their overweight daughter, son, sister, mother, whoever that BVL did it on his own, why can't you? That just doesn't seem fair to me.

I dont understand why you are exercising twice per day... If your personal trainer told you to do that you need to get a new one ASAP. From some other post you have made I can tell you are not giving it 100%... dont think anyone on this site does, were only human. Eating a piece of salmon can not "literally" cause you to gain a pound unless you are eating 16oz at a time which is impossible with the sleeve. Who is advising you to take diet pills? They are garbage and mostly caffine.
Veggies are great is you are eating the right kinds at the right times. If you eating a lot of things like carrots or cron those are not good veggies to be eating while trying to lose weight. Also with juiceing you are going to be consuming a ton of carbs and sugars which will likey not be burned off throughout the day. It takes about 6 oranges to make a glass of fresh orange juice... how many times would you eat 6 oranges in 1 sitting? Juicing is great once you are at goal and maintaining... very limited on what you can juice when trying to lose weight. You seem to be spending money on things you dont need. You should use those finds for a good nutritionist. If you have a good one you dont have to see them every week... maybe monthly. If they want to see you every week they are ripping you off.
Your carlorie intake is double than what your average sleever trying to lose is consuming
Thats a big one actually. Getting your Water in isn`t just for hydration purposes. Up your water intake to more than the minimum required. 64oz of water really isnt a lot especially if your exercising.
You are no were close to goal and you have plastics scheduled already? You dont want to ``waste money`` on a doctor or nutritionist because ``that money could go towards something else medically in case of emergency``. Is lipo and abdominoplaty considered an emergency especially when its not the right time to do it. I would seriously consider your Dr is he is advising you to do these procedures with no much still to lose.
``No, I don't have a lot of weight to lose`` You have a BMI of over 41+ and need to lose another 85lbs to be on the heavy side of a normal BMI.

Hey y'all sorry for a delayed response. I had my sleeve done on 2/21. It's going good so far. I was self pay and I don't know if its because I'm self pay but I feel lost in this journey. Surgery went great except for a bad bout of needing to throw up a few hours after surgery with nothing inside. It scared me because I thought it would bust a staple. But it didn't. I got through it. You know when your body wants to throw up so bad but nothing is coming up. Lol. Bellanger's staff is very nice. Just ask tons of questions no matter how stupid they seem. And go to the support meetings. I go to Women's Hospital. They have one next Wednesday at 6. I've only been once. I can't wait till next week they are supposed to be recipe sharing. They say they usually have speakers too. Last month was about exercise and you meet people at all stages from just curious to 5+ years out. I'd love for us to follow each other.cause I know I sure need the support. The first couple days were droggy and a reoccurring sharp pain on my left side but it went away after about 3 days. I was off pain meds after my 2nd day home. I could barely eat but I was ok. Protein was hard to get down because the "clear liquid" type was disgusting. But it was ok. I drank Water and got some sf Jello in and sf Popsicles. My kids were jealous. Lol. I'm 2 weeks and almost 2 days and I feel great now that I'm not eating all that bad food I used to eat. And I'm about 25lbs down. I'm starting my walking regimen now and feeling great. I was back to work about a week later kinda part time for a few days (as much as I could tolerate ) now last week I'm back full time unless I'm just really exhausted or I screwed up eating to fast and I'm hurting.
I'm new to this forum but however we can follow each other would be nice to do. Let me know how if you know. -Laura

I can't wait to use one hand to shave both legs. I can't wait to not be the fat girl at work. I can't wait for boots that come up my calves, dresses that are not like tents and pants that are not too long (I'm 5'3). I cant wait to be able to see all the places I shave. I want to wear sundresses and strappy sandles. I want bras and panties that match. I don't want to be fearful of folding chairs, skinny chairs and other peoples furniture in general. I hate that our couch looks like it does because of me. I want to go to amusement and Water parks. I am just ready to not be fat anymore.

I have too much weight to lose before surgery so I did 3 months of an 800 calorie VLCD instead of food funerals... If I didn't have to lose all this weight pre-surgery I'm still not sure I would have been pigging out though. I've NEVER been one to eat a lot right before starting a diet because I just think that every additional pound I put on, is just ONE MORE that has to come off.

I don't really think a closed group would stop minor arguments or tiffs from occurring. What would be the difference between this open forum and a closed one? The people allowed in?
What if there are lurkers who gain information and insight from reading these vet topics, but don't want to post? If I wanted the opinion of a certain select few, I would PM just those people, I'd imagine. I post publicly, so that anyone with an opinion or advice can give it.
Am I missing something? What exactly are we upset about that is warranting a closed group?

JolieBug reacted to NtvTxn in Low BMI of 38 would you do the surgery or have you done the sleeve?
I had a bariatric nurse tell me about the same thing. I think a lot of it might have to do with we have no or at least fewer health issues going into surgery. That would hold true for ANY surgery we were going to have. I had no health issues at all, and had zero problems with the surgery. Easy greasy! I remember having my tonsils removed in my early 20's - I was a lot more uncomfortable!

The real answer here is that no one is going to be able to give you the answer. I am 5'1, I weighed in this morning at 254. That puts my BMI at 48. If I could get down to your BMI and no comorbidties, I'd be dancing for joy. I really wouldn't consider WLS at your size, especially not something permanent like the sleeve. But I understand the emotional pain of feeling too fat for the world around you and the desperation of not being able to do it on your own. But I know it's all a matter of perspective and our personal starting point. But please, please spend some time reading through the complications section of this forum before you make your decision. We need to know the risks we open ourselves up to, no matter how desperately we need this surgery.

Jealous, jealous , oh did I say she is jealous ? Right now she is happy because she is thinner than you, no competition. She does not want you to be thin and beautiful and her devil horns are showing. You will find some like this on your journey, just pay no attention. Right now you need only supportive, positive people in your life. I chose to only have my husband and myself know and I still have encountered some jealousies. My skinnier friends love the new me. My fellow chubby friends....not so much. But a couple are now dieting so that is a good thing:). Distance from her for awhile and if she is a true friend she will come back to you.

If you pick one thing; one thing at all it is Gas-X strips!! They are amazing! I used them as a pain pill almost! When the gas pain got too much I would take one an the gas would come right off and the pain would go down.
Also a heating pad is wonderful!
