Please don't let fear drive you. If I did, I'd also not have made this decision. My story is a little different. I had complications, and two surgeries and spent 4x as long in the hospital as the normal patient. I came home Sunday.. But, trusted my doctor/surgeon and put my life in God's hands. Because if He didn't want this for me, I wouldn't have the option. I'm going to have a little longer recovery, but I am sure things are going to work out. Good luck and you can PM me if you like. Here is my experience. I was sleeved on Monday 5/20/2013. Leak tested on 5/21/13 with no leaks and cleared for release. I came home on Tuesday afternon after I could keep down ice chiips, popcicles etc. The rest of the day I slept. Wednesday night I couldn't sleep all night, I couldn't get confortable. I take meds for anxiety and thught that was the problem. At 4 am, the pain became sudden and severe and I woke my husband and told him we need to go to the hospital, and that is what we did. They did a CT Scan to make sure I didn''t have an pulmmonary embolism. Then they did a leak test, and that came out positive. So off to the OR I went. Regarding the pain it is fine. Thanks for asking this question. I'm being sleeved on Thursday and I'm a worrier. I know that the most likely complication from the surgery (aside from dehydration) is a leak, so I was wondering what it felt like so I could tell the normal aches and pains from a leak.
It sounds like a "if you have it, you'll know it" situation -- it doesn't sound like the symptoms are at all subtle.

Oh I agree with you Mommyradd. I am 51 and wish I would have done this 15 years ago....

I didn't lose weight my first three weeks, in fact I maintained the hospital five pound weight gain. Now its six weeks and about forty pounds down. Be patient with your body and kind to yourself. Good luck, it will come.

Wow that is terrific that you are feeling so well this soon after surgery! Mine is in 10 days and I hope it is as easy for me. Prayers that your recovery continues to be smooth!

Hello may sleevers! I am done. I was out it for a couple if days but now I am back and doing well. Woke up from surgery in a lot of pain but once they gave me meds I felt better. Gas has been unbearable but it get easier when you walk. Not eating much but I am not Hungary. Just trying to force my Water down and Protein shakes!!!! Doing better than yesterday. How is everyone e else?

5/20 in DFW wth Dr. David Kim!! I'm nervous but ready. I still feel like maybe someething will come up to stop this from happening for me....

I just met with my surgeon today. .I had all intents of doing the band and after meeting with him and answering some questions I've decided on the sleeve. My surgery is on May 23rd so excited!

My surgery anniversary is May 20th. Its been almost a year and I am down 103 lbs so far.... 6 lbs to onederland!!! you all will do amazing

I was sleeved 23/4. Discharged 25/4. Was on clear fluids and started Protein Shakes, Soups etc yesterday 26/4.
I found walking helping alot. Felt heaps better after actually sleeping in my own bed. Never took pain meds yesterday and hopefully it can continue.
Battling to get the volumes in but seems with each meal and depending on how dense the food is, determines how much I am able to have.
Started my B12 dots, Multivitamin and losec yesterday. Takes a bit if getting used to as surprisingly that also fills you up.
I think this is a gift and will be a challenging journey, but take it a step at a time, follow your drs orders, you have us all for support and above all keep your chin up and keep smiling! ????
