A creamy, fruit-based soft serve dessert! Ingredients 1 fresh pineapple, peeled, cored and chopped 1 cup almond milk 1 tablespoon honey (optional, for authentic sweetness)
Instructions To get started, you’ll want to freeze the pineapple chunks. I chopped mine a day ahead of time, and froze the chunks overnight. You could also purchase frozen pineapple, if you prefer. As you can see from the picture below, the frozen pineapple reached the 6.5 – 7 cup mark on my blender pitcher. This recipe works best in a high-speed blender, like the Vitamix, because you’ll need to be able to pulverize the frozen pineapple into an ice-cream-like consistency. A normal blender will most likely not work, but a food processor might. Combine the frozen pineapple with the almond milk and honey, then blend until a frozen sorbet texture is achieved. For an authentic Dole Whip presentation, transfer the frozen dessert to a large plastic bag, and cut off the tip to create a piping bag. Pipe the pineapple whip into 4-6 dishes, and serve immediately! Any leftovers can be frozen in an ice cube tray, and used in smoothies later.

Absolutely. Dr. Illan and his team completely transformed my life. I still say they offered the best medical care I've ever had in my life. I would feel comfortable recommending any of my loved ones to go to him and genuinely wish he did plastics so that I could go back myself!
Omar is also completely fantastic. In addition to taking superhuman care of his patients (seriously, I don't know how he manages to be so attentive to everyone at once), he noticed that the husband of a patient of a different doctor had nothing to eat and took that man out for food.
They completely go above and beyond in every way!

I also used Baja & Dr. Illan & my expectations were also exceeded. I am a researcher & was going to spend twice as much on one of the "famed" /veteran Mexican surgeons if my research didn't lead me to feeling my safety & success wouldn't be as good or better with Dr. Illan. The whole team is very detail oriented & professional & they are determined that you come away happy about your experience, your choice of surgeon & Mexico in general. I was low BMI & have lost approximately 75% of my excess weight in 2.5 months (and all but 5lbs of that has been fat). My cholesterol has gone from 215-ish to 150 and I can't manage to get anything but a normal blood pressure reading no matter how many times I try.
One side note: I would definitely deem Dr. Illan the surgeon to use if you have a loved one who is spooked about your going to Mexico... the practice unofficially specializes in skyping & communicating with prospective patients & their loved ones before scheduling and they ALSO seem to have a sort of mission statement to flood each patient & his/her family member(s) with amazing personal attention & care once there.

Dr. Illan is a very talented surgeon and his WHOLE team is amazing! I took a family member back in January to be sleeved and would recommend his team to anyone. While in Tijuana I met other patients from different doctors and noticed they didn't have someone there checking in to make sure their spouse/friend/family member had eaten or was ok. When out shopping with Omar I ran into the same people who had to take a cab and had no idea what to do or where to shop. The Baja Bariatric team goes OVER & BEYOND anything you can even think of during your stay. I've lost 101 lbs thus far and am beyond thrilled with my surgery and support I have received from Baja Bariatrics

I had a great experience with Dr. Illan Fraijo. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him and his team. I just got back from having them perform a somewhat complicated band to sleeve revision, and the experience was better than I've had in the US. I can totally understand where you are coming from on both sides. I would never say I don’t have a food addiction or emotional response with food. However, I have been very diligent with diets and exercise numerous times and had such poor results, I didn’t have it in me to keep it going. I had a trainer for a very long time and followed a very strict diet set by a nutritionist and after several months the trainer told me that there was just no point in continuing because I had only lost 3 pounds and clearly wasn’t trying. I had worked so hard and it was so devastating, food addiction here I come.

I went sightseeing and shopped and had an amazing massage. I didn’t have to take the pain pills and everything since I have been home has been great too. Dr.Illan and Omar is the greatest! I was sleeved by Dr. Garcia is Feb. I have lost 72 pounds it was a good experience! But my daughter had the surgery with Dr. Illan last month and if i would have known about Dr. Illan then, i would have used Dr. Illan...the care is most personalized. Alma was great...but I never laid my eyes on her..Omar was there from beginning...during and after..and he still checking on us....my daughter has had NO issues. . I appreciate both experiences..But thought Dr. Illan was the best!

I'm 6 weeks out and still not hungry. I literally have a time schedule for eating, drinking, and Vitamins. I never really had nausea but I can't eat some things I ate before. BBQ just doesn't taste good at all now. There are other things I've tried and didn't really like but I can't remember what exactly at this moment. Oh, fruit juice was another big one. I can't stand anything sweet.

Sure - one of my responsibilities of being further out as a post op is to share information which others in order to help breed success. I am happy to do this. These techniques I have mentioned above have really helped me with tightening up the core section. The day will come when I can breath a sigh of relief and say "goal accomplished!" In the meantime, i am diligently working at this goal of getting a tight core daily. I am looking forward to having a rock hard core where I am proud of my shirt off without resorting to a TT.

I posited this question on one of the Facebook pages the other day and it is like talking about a leak is akin to having a black cat walk across your path. There appears to be a variety of thoughts from "always-the rest of your life" to " a year". And then there is always the one person who tells you the horror story of a sudden development of a leak 2+ years out and the veteran who uses the question as a cautionary lesson in "following your plan and never straying from it". My question was based on curiosity as it seems to me that the healing process of the body will eventually result in diminishing leak risks. My conclusion is I am going to the horses mouth and going to just ask my surgeon his opinion. (and of course do my own review of the research on the subject. )
Ultimately, I think if I was willing to have 85% of a healthy stomach removed, then worrying about a leak now is like shutting the barn after the horse gets out.

I agree with kalee. Walk away the pounds has DVDs with several different distances to choose from and you can use 2 pound weights to help with your arms while you walk and to increase effort. She also has 'jogging' videos.
