  1. GIVE IT TIME!! It DOES get better, especially once you can have solid food again. The only thing I regret is that I allow myself to 'graze' too often, so I am only maintaining at 150 lbs lost instead of losing. I am 5 years out from a vertical sleeve gastrectomy, with no complications.

    AM I WASTING MY TIME?

My problem is that I've really been accessing this from my phone most of the time, and the new beta of the app still doesn't let me access posts from private groups. I'm still here, though!
  3. I was wearing 54 DDD Playtexwhen I started losing, but I now know I was measuring wrong. Now I am wearing 42 GG. Went through a 46 K in between. Read it and weep, girls - I hope I get down to a 36 C!

    Triple Milestone Today!

I attended my first informational meeting on May 5, 2012. I lost 60 lbs in 10 months pre-surgery. Surgery was February 12, 2013. I've lost 90 additional pounds on just over 7 months since then. I know I'm not the fastest loser on here, but I am confident that I will be able to keep it going until I reach my goal!
  5. As of this morning, I have 1) lost over 150 pounds since I began this weight loss journey, 2) lost over 50% of my "excess weight" (above my goal), and 3) reached under 300 pounds for the first time in over 20 years (since my oldest child was conceived)! Yay me!!! Woo hoo!!!

    Sleevers over 300lbs?

    Started program May 5, 2012 at 450 lbs. Lost 60 lbs pre-surgery. Had surgery February 12, 2013. Today (6 months + 2 weeks post-surgery) I am down a total of 142 lbs.
  7. I am 6 months and 11 days past surgery - lost 60 pre-surgery and as of this morning am down another 82.4 for a total of 142.4 lbs lost! 7.6 more pounds and I will be halfway to my goal of 300 lbs lost!

When u eat food on the puréed stage does it hurt?

If it hurts, you're eating too much, too fast, or not pureed enough!
  9. Funny. My 4 month surgiversary was this past Wednesday, and I was down 60 lbs, too!

    Question for all you ladies...

I agree - sounds like a possible UTI. Any pain when urinating? Difficulty doing so?

    Food in throat

Also - I find sometimes I forget and take too big a bite, or don't chew enough and get that feeling.

    NSV shout outs

Today I received the results of my first Hemoglobin A1C test since my surgery, nearly 4 months ago. I was taken off 2 different oral medications for the diabetes when I got out of the hospital - 2000 mg/day of Metformin XR and 45 mg/day of Actos. After over 3 months off meds, my level was 6.0% - lower than it's ever been, and actually within the normal range! Woo hoo!!! Added June 11 - I took my measurements yesterday. I've lost 10 inches in my hips and a full foot (yes, 12 inches!) In my waist since the end of last July. As of this morning, I'm down 120 lbs since starting my program in May, 2012, 60 of those since surgery on February 12, 2013. Double Woo hoo!
  13. I've been stalled for over 3 weeks now - getting frustrated. At least I have lost 54 lbs since surgery on 2/12.
