I'm just 3 days post op and having trouble getting my protein in. All I can stomach are chocolate Muscle Milk and water! Reading all these blogs has been so encouraging and helpful. I'm waiting for intake to get easier, I really had no idea how tiny our sips have to be for the first few weeks post-op! Please keep posting and sharing your milestones!

@Tudor Lol thank you for sharing that! It's the unknown and loss of control that's frightening. I hope my surgeon engages with me like that too! That should help with nerves

I'm sure it's super common to be anxious the few weeks before surgery, but I'm terrified. I'm so afraid of the anesthesia. Not afraid at all of the surgery, just afraid of the sedation. I joined a group for September 2013 Sleevers so I hope to connect with more people who are doing the liquid diet and going into surgery around the same time as me. Don't have much to say today other than I'm getting really nervous. Maybe it's because I've never had surgery before. Not sure. (Don't get me wrong, I'm happy and excited for this awesome change that's taking place and I'm so grateful for the opportunity, just scared) Sigh.

@Inspiredsmile That period right before I found out my date was the hardest stretch! I was so anxious. I got my date on July 19th and my date is Sept 3, so I was very surprised how little time there was between the two dates! It'll move fast! Keep in touch, I'm interested in seeing when your surgery date is!!

My very first blog on the Vertical Sleeve forum. My surgery is approaching. I'm scheduled for Sept. 3, 2013. 28 days away and I'm getting more anxious by the minute. I've been super lucky to have so many friends and family who are supportive of this decision, but ultimately I'm here because I'd like to communicate more with people who are actually experiencing these things. As I told my surgeon, this is the single most important decision I've ever made, and will ever make, regarding my health. The hardest part of it all so far has been explaining myself to the people who say "you've lost 30 lbs on your own, you don't need the surgery." I struggle with finding a response for these statements. I'd been considering this surgery for a year before I talked to my PCP, and have been meeting with my surgeon since February. I've never been more certain about anything. This week I'd like to start working on my profile. I'd really like to start connecting with people! Pictures and bio: coming soon
