Anyone have any info on what happens to the staples long term after surgery? Just curious if they are know to cause problem later, or if they stretch and break? I don't know any info on how the body deals with them not only right after the surgery but years later. Is there less or more likely "leaking" over time ect?

I hear you both. All day I'm walking around like please god let me fit on every ride. I've had a few close calls but so far been ok. I can totally relate to not wanting people to see you. I'm embarrassed of myself and don't want my poor husband to be associated with me I'm glad you'll be taking your trip next year. If I wasn't so heavy I'd really be enjoying this trip so much more. I'll be putting on my best attitude tomorrow so hopefully I won't be in as much pain.

I'm bipolar as well so I worry about my emotions too. I also worry about how I'll handle my 5 day Clear Liquids only pre op diet without hurting anyone lol. I'm approved and scheduled for 10/3. Pre op appt is sep 16.

Yes you can put unflavored Protein powder in ur crystal light. I tried it with the fruit punch, it's not bad. Sorry u are having trouble with your shakes. Unjury also makes a protein chicken broth that is pretty good.

I could've wrote this! I don't know how I'm coping, not well really. I have anxiety normally so this is putting it off the charts. I'm scheduled for 10/3 and I'm freaking out. But the more I read here the better I feel. Lots of people have great outcomes and I want that for me too. We will do ok, I figure as long as the pain meds keep my pain manageable and keep my nausea under control I'll be ok. I'm not quite as worried about the eating part after. I just want to survive the surgery. When is your date?

Doesn't hurt at all. I too was terrified, all for nothing. Only thing that hurt was the IV. You will do just fine, no worries

I'm right there with you! Just remember, we're newbies, and we have a brand new stomach we've got to adjust to. A friend of mine who had the surgery several months ago said it's completely normal to go through a "oh no, what have I done?" stage, but that it passes and it's totally worth it.

The Sleeve is safer than any WLS and has the smallest chance of side affects.

I am 8 weeks post op and to this point its been a breeze including great weight loss. All of a sudden have developed a mild constant nausea. Nothing specific about diet change that I can figure but have cut back on Protein Shakes. I have probably not kept up my Water intake would this be a possible cause? Has anybody experienced a similar situation?
