Why am I a Slowwwwwwwww loser?

I have lost 60 lbs since jan. 18. I am not sure if that is slow or not. I know many are losing much faster than me! However, my face is the thinnest it has been in years...and guess what? I don't have jowls of excess skin. And today I looked in the mirror at my bare back. I don't have fat rolls anymore...and no lose skin. So I am ok with the way I am losing.

    Mexican Pizza :)

So I saw a recipe on Facebook for Mexican Pizzas. They looked amazing. So I went to the store and found low carb soft tortillas. They had 3 net carbs ea. I put refried Beans, taco meat and cheese on the tortillas and baked at 450 for 8 min. They were amazing!!! The best part was the tortilla got crunchy! There isn't much you can eat low carb that is crunchy! I will eventually try the cauliflower pizza crust, but for today...this was fan-freaking-tastic!!!

    Mexican Pizza :)

I imagine you will be able to, but it will probably be more like a 1/2 of a quesadilla. Ha ha.
  6. I live in Topeka, KS. While I love my community, the one thing I detest about living here is Fred Phelps and the Westboro Baptist Church. If you aren't familiar with their name - these are the people that picket funerals with their hate signs targeting homosexuality. Recently someone bought the house across the street from the Westboro Baptist Church compound. Today they painted it rainbow, just like the gay pride flag. it is very colorful, and awesome. It will now the be the first thing the phelps will see when they come and go! I am sorry for crashing this section of the forum when I am straight..,but it made my day and I figured some in here might get a little joy, too!
  7. I was drinking Snapple by them. My doctor didn't want me to have caffeine until 2 weeks out. I think there is a little caffeine in the half and half and the peach tea. Try it and see if you can tolerate it. Also anyone living near a Dillon's or Kroger, Snapple is 10 for $10 this week.

    Mexican Pizza :)

I used Mama Lupe Low Carb tortillas. They are ea. 60 calories/5 grams of protein/7 carb/4 dietary Fiber. These are the taco sized ones. I put 1/4 of a cub of refried Beans, 1/4 of a cup of taco meat, and ten sprinkled with cheese. I ate one and was very full. I didn't put any salsa or anything else on mine. My husband put salsa on his.

    editing profile is a pain

Yeah...and the crazy thing is...the last time I knew that it happened to Laura, she hasn't even participated in the conversation. A user got mad at me and another poster and then knocked her stars down (along with lessofmeismore). Petty is a good word for it. Not my favorite part of this board.
  13. Yeah. I love the diet Snapple half & half. (Half lemonade & half tea)

    editing profile is a pain

I use my phone, so I don't see any of that stuff. I do know that there is a star rating system, where other users can rate you. I know this because there is a user who goes and gives 1 star to anyone who says anything she doesn't like and the group of people she doesn't like. So you could say I learned that the hard way. Ha ha.

Relationhip with dh is different now

There is some great advice here! Kind of restores the idea of why we all come to this website for support. When I get irritated with my husband or friends about the eating thing...I try to remember two things. 1. They didn't change. I did. If they put up with me before, I can learn to change my attitude about minor irritations with them now. 2. My attitude is my choice. I can't control what anyone in this world does, but i can control the way I react to them. I saw a sign the other day that said "no one can drive you crazy, if you don't give them the keys."

    Adorable Hair Baby

Crazily...I lose almost this much hair every week before I had surgery. Kind of scared what it will be like when I start losing hair. Will it be enough to form a Cousin It that will try to eat me?
  17. Yeah the whole constipation thing sucks! But it is absolutely something many suffer from!

In the first page or two Sannah tells of get whole experience, including the symptoms she had. It is a very interesting story, and she had some unusual symptoms.
  19. I read a poster one time about all the native effects of soda on your body. It had both diet and regular. There is no question that there are much better things to drink. I personally haven't had a soda since 2 weeks before my surgery, which was 8 weeks ago. But as one user put it..,it isn't like you are falling off the wagon by having a flat diet coke. One thing to remember tho..,is that the sweetener in diet coke is known to stimulate hunger. Not sure how that affects sleevers, since we had the part of our stomach removed that creates the "hungry" feelings. My point about being nice was that if someone posts a question and people aren't nice in their response..,how long do you think the user will feel comfortable coming back here for support and help? My guess is not very. What is black and white to one poster, may not be to another. For example, I decided not to drink diet soda after surgery, on my own. Neither my bariatric surgeon or my gastro doc have any issue with diet soda. So just because one person has strong feelings about it doesn't mean everyone will. And more people will hear your opinions, if you don't berate them and treat them like an idiot.
  20. This is a little rant. I went to my doctor 1 week out for the routine post-surgery check. She was talking about my daughter's wedding, and she said, "you are going to look so good for her wedding!" I replied, "what do you mean? I look really good now!" I am a beautiful girl (my husband tells me this everyday!). I was before the surgery. I am now after surgery - over 50 lbs lighter. I realize that I look "better". I do. But this surgery isn't a guaranteed fix to everyone's self esteem. If you had really low self esteem before surgery, losing weight may or may not fix it. If all of your self esteem issues were related to your weight, then maybe it will. If you have been skinny before and had low self esteem issues then...chances are you will have self esteem issues after your weight loss. Unless you work on fixing them! At my heaviest, I always knew skinny girls that I had more confidence than. You are beautiful, too! In all honesty....this forum is loaded with beautiful girls at all sizes. No matter where you are in the weight loss journey, embrace who you are at this moment and take a minute to feel beautiful and amazing. Don't wait until all the weight is off before you start loving yourself. Do it now. That is all.
