Do you order a plate of food?
Really? did you request the card? I never heard of such a thing lol. I wonder if my bariatric office would give me a card? It is at the restaurant's discretion to accept the card if you have one, and as others have said the kid's menu normally does not offer the most healthy options.

Feeling like food doesn't go down
Sometimes a food does not agree with you the first time you try it, and then have it a week later with no problem at all.

Feeling like food doesn't go down
Make sure you are chewing everything to the consistency of toothpaste. You may still have some swelling which is causing the problem. I would definitely contact my doctor's office to let them know.

Do you order a plate of food?
So far my husband and I have split an entree. We just tell the server we are splitting whatever the menu item is. No one has given us any problem. If he ordered something I didn't like or couldn't have, I would order my own entree and eat leftovers or my son could eat it.

Literally lost my ass in 2013 - with pic
Congratulations. You look fantastic. Keep up the good work. Most times when you hear someone say they lost their ass it's not a good thing, but in this instance it is a very good thing.

2014 weight loss commercials.........bye bye!
2014 will be the last year that I will make lose weight my New Year's resolution.

Probably gonna tick some people off.......lol
This thread has certainly meandered all over the place. What scares me the most is when people eat foods too soon before they are healed and try to push the limits of the sleeve. It really makes me wonder why they would even be willing to take the risk of jeopardizing their surgery or themselves. The most important thing you can do for yourself to be successful is follow the plan your doctor and nutritionist have laid out for you.

December Fitness Challenge
I wonder how many calories he burns doing this? I read he started doing this because he was injured and could no loner run, and it allowed him to get exercise. I found his work to be truly amazing. I hope you enjoy. http://www.viralnova.com/simon-beck-snow-art/

TMJ Pain
Jean, I don't chew gum, hard candy or ice. Don't bite my nails. I am not even aware I am clenching my teeth or jaw. I have bitten my tongue a few times not sure if it is related. I had a two hour massage and had this area worked on and when I yawn it still hurts. I am on vacation right now so I don't think it's stress or work related. I also make sure to not prop my chin on my arms and I don't eat nuts not cleared for them yet. Just driving me crazy.

I shouldn't have watched the video
It's perfectly normal to be nervous. This is a big undertaking and a lot of unknowns since you haven't had surgery. I'm sure you're worried about how much pain you'll have, and wondering will it work for me since I have tried so many other diets?. I had heard horrible things about the leak test from this site. It was not nearly bad as I imagined. Please let us know how you're doing after surgery. I hope you have as painless as possible recovery and congratulations on your upcoming surgery. Good luck.

Nancy, Glad to hear it. Keep up the good work. We are all here to help each other.

Is broth important?
Right now at your stage the most important thing is to stay hydrated. For some people, warm liquids work better than cold or room temperature. I was fortunate that I could do everything from the beginning. Congratulations on your surgery, and hope your recovery goes well.

Onederland. Congratulations to you. Keep up the good work.

Shopping list for the hospital etc.
A moisturizing chap stick is so important. Phone charger and extension cord if your charger isn't long enough. I brought my own pillow because I hate hospital pillows. A pillow is also good to use on the ride home to keep between your incisions and the seat belt.

Does anyone regret this surgery?
Wennie, Have you asked your doctor and nutritionist what they think? I did not experience any pain from drinking or eating after my surgery. I was 8 weeks out on December 20th. Good luck. Make sure when drinking you are sipping small sips and eating small bites and chewing very well.

weigh in tomorrow
Nancy, I didn't have anything to clean me out. I had a three day pre-op which was liquids, sugar free Jello and three Protein Shakes a day.

weigh in tomorrow
Good luck Nancy, Please keep us posted. Each doctor's office is different. After I had my date, I attended a pre- and post-op diet class, got my bloodwork, chest x-ray and ekg done for my surgery. I saw my surgeon one last time prior to surgery to get any remaining questions answered, then showed up at the hospital at the appropriate time for surgery.

Aint nobody got time for shakes
donaboss, on 23 Dec 2013 - 19:08, said: ribearty said Maybe I did that so I can get as much information as possible. So that was not needed. You are new so maybe did not see it is a violation of forum rules to cross post topics. Thanks.

Is there a way to change or add to a Title ? Thanks
Yes, Alex, Susan or VIPs have the ability to make changes to topics. In this instance I found out what the OP wanted to have changed and sent a message to Laura-Ven who made the requested change.

:(
Part of it is head hunger and that's where the will power comes in. We are used to eating and not needing a reason to eat. I found myself cutting up banana slices for my grand children the first week after surgery, and found myself almost eating them. At this time I was on Clear liquids. I try to be conscious about what I am eating and why. Try to keep yourself busy when the urges hit by drinking and sipping slowly, walking or doing some other activity that does not involve food. I hope that the good eating habits I am working on become automatic for me. I feel I will always have to be watching or my old habits will sneak back in. Good luck

Aint nobody got time for shakes
I like Premier ready made shakes. No funky after taste. I added sugar free flavored syrups by Davinci and Toriani to the vanilla flavor and chocolate for variety.

Water!
If you are drinking cold Water, try warm. Try chicken broth if water doesn't work. Add flavor drops to the water. Drink G2. It is very important to be hydrated at this time, or you could end up with dehydration. If you are on full liquids, try no sugar added hot cocoa, skim or 1% milk, decaf tea or coffee. Good luck.
