March Bandsters Pre-Op diet?
I am scheduled to have surgery 3/19. My doctors office doesnt require a pre-op diet, but I wanted to start one, because I think it might be easier for me to transition. Is ther anyone out there who has to do one, and if so what do you have to do?

Your Aetna experience?
I finally got a surgery date of 3/19/08!!!!
-
If it aint one thing it's another!!!
Lonestar, it is crazy!!! Your right, I am grateful that I'm approved. I did have another nurse call me back the next day and she said she would make sure all my paperwork would get sent to UHC the next day. This would be 2/14/08. So hopefully I will be getting a denial soon. That sounds weird that I want a denial. Anyhoo, I am praying that you will get your approval soon. With all these new changes, everyones journey will hopefully become easier.

If it aint one thing it's another!!!
Got a call today from the surgeons office stating that they need to get a denial from my primary insurance which is UHC before they can give me a surgery date. UGHHH!!! I am so pissed. First off, I've mentioned to the nurse who is handeling my file not once but numerous times with regards to my primary insurance. Never once did she say we had to submit it to them first because we both new that it was an exclusion on my policy. So we just submitted it to Aetna, who is my secondary and it was approved. So because she is on vacation this week, we have to wait until Monday before she submits it to UHC for the denial. At first the other nurse said to me that I would have to wait until I get the denial before they would give me a date, but after I went off about how this whole process has been ridiculously long due to people dropping the ball, she said she would make sure I had my surgery date when I go in next week for orientation. She said they will just schedule me out a few weeks. I am so sick of these people. Another thing, they act as if there is only one nurse in the office, so when she's out, I have to wait until she gets back to do anything with my file. I'm calling them back tomorrow, to see if anyone is capable of faxing everything to UHC tomorrow, so I could possibly get the letter before I go in next week.

All this crap and now an appeal??!!!! I hate my life!
I'm so sorry lynne. That sucks. I'm going through something similar. I will pray for us both.

Your Aetna experience?
This is really great news for my husband. We are resubmitting next week for him, along with a letter form him and our PCP. I wonder since they changed the policy if we have to appeal or just resubmit???
-
Obesity law.com????
Thanks Walter. We will try to appeal first, espeically with the new great news about the 2 year history. If we need further assistance, I will be sure to contact you.

Aetna revises requirements for lap band surgery from 5 years down to 2!!
OMG!!!! This is great news for my husband. The whole reason he got denied was because we only had 4 years weight history instead of 5. Thanks for the great news!!!!!
-
Obesity law.com????
Thanks everyone. We just wrote a letter and are waiting on the letter from PCP also.
-
Obesity law.com????
He was denied by Aetna in January. Do you think we should appreal first then go to obesitylaw.com? Why did you get denied? What did you do for your appeal? thanks for your help.

Waiting on the darn letter....
The same thing happend to me. The only difference is I didn't and still dont have a surgery date, but they would'nt allow me to come to the surgery orientation to get my date until they had letter in had. It only took a few days for me to get it, but for whatever reason the surgeons office took forever to get it. Same thing as far as them not doing anything, even when the insurance coordinator said that's all they had to do. I emailed my nurse at the surgeons office a copy of my letter, then she scheduled my orientation date. The bad thing about this is the fact that they only offer orientation once a month, so by the time she got my copy of the letter, January was booked up. I had to wait till February 20th...which is coming up. She then said they are booking surgeries four weeks from when I come in because the doctor only does surgery on Wednesdays.

Obesity law.com????
this is actually for my husband.
-
Obesity law.com????
I have Aetna and have been denied because I only have four of the five years needed to get approved. I just filled out the form on obesitylaw.com. Has anyone here used them?

Game: What Color is Oprah Today?
Thank you. Green, I agree with you. It's been talked about since for ever, that's why I get frustrated when people act as if they dont understand why we get so offended by it.

Game: What Color is Oprah Today?
I found this forum to be very entertaining. There isn't anything wrong with what Opera does. She's an entertainer!!! If you dont like the way she talks, then stop watching her show. I dont watch her show, because I have a JOB. So unfortunately everthing I hear about her is through the media. I know that most people on here don't understand why some of us were offended by the post, but if you were "BLACK" you would. Yes we've come a long way with "racism" and "prejudice", but whether we like it or not, it's still prevalent. If you consider yourself not to be either of the words I mentioned in my previus sentence you would understand why some African Americans get offended when people say we talk "BLACK." Like one poster said, lets not act like this is a new thing that's going on. We all know that when people say you talk BLACK that means that your not articulate, you speak with slang, and you sound ignorant sometimes. If you dont want us to be offended by your comments and post statements defending such things, then dont post on a public thread. Hope everyone has a nice day!!!
