I am not Irish but find these words extremely moving.
Nothing without Effort/nothing without Pain
Think I just found my 50 pound loss reward to myself for a tattoo idea just need a symbol to go with it.

This is a little rant.
I went to my doctor 1 week out for the routine post-surgery check. She was talking about my daughter's wedding, and she said, "you are going to look so good for her wedding!" I replied, "what do you mean? I look really good now!"
I am a beautiful girl (my husband tells me this everyday!). I was before the surgery. I am now after surgery - over 50 lbs lighter. I realize that I look "better". I do. But this surgery isn't a guaranteed fix to everyone's self esteem. If you had really low self esteem before surgery, losing weight may or may not fix it. If all of your self esteem issues were related to your weight, then maybe it will. If you have been skinny before and had low self esteem issues then...chances are you will have self esteem issues after your weight loss. Unless you work on fixing them!
At my heaviest, I always knew skinny girls that I had more confidence than.
You are beautiful, too! In all honesty....this forum is loaded with beautiful girls at all sizes. No matter where you are in the weight loss journey, embrace who you are at this moment and take a minute to feel beautiful and amazing. Don't wait until all the weight is off before you start loving yourself. Do it now.
That is all.

kcinpa got a reaction from NikkiV1986 in 399!
I know 399 still seems like a lot but I am very happy!! I was 475 when I started this journey in September of 2012. On my date of surgery 1/28 I was 450 and as of today I am down to 399!! There were times in the beginning I didn't think this was a good idea, but I am at the point now where I am getting into a rhythm and am starting to make better choices on what I should eat. It seems I can handle almost anything in my new stomach so far with what I tried except mashed potatoes, I've tried them twice each time I get so sick. I still can't have bread, Pasta, rice, or steak for another 3 months but besides that my doctor has given the go ahead on everything else. It's still hard for me to tell when I am full due to eating to fast, but I am learning and getting better.

AWESOME!!!!! It's a huge accomplishment and it DEFINITELY sounds like a big deal to me! Everything is relative to where you start from! I felt like throwing a party when I made it under 300 and was just regular "morbidly obese" instead of "SUPER-Obese".. I mean WHO is happy about being "just" morbidly obese? MEEEEEEEEEE that's who! Celebrate your accomplishment!

kcinpa got a reaction from Jen.D in Water iceblocks
I use the Water flavoring packets that are only like 5-10 calories a packet for a 20oz bottle of water. Then put it in a Popsicle mold I got for a dollar. It takes about 2 bottles of water to make a tray of 6 Popsicles and the whole tray only totals 10-20 calories.
