  1. Yeah, any chance for a few more days off? or part days. Fatigue was a surprise to me. But recovery from surgery is a big deal!
  2. Yep makes sense. Obesity restricts lung movement, and that certainly can have an impact on asthma!
  3. Bodies are strange ain't they? All will be well. Pee-ing is important so drink like crazy (and don't weigh every day!)
  4. Heads Up. Consider getting ready for the preop protein fast by going on a controlled eating plan (focus on Liquids, Protein and veggies/fruits). Please AVOID food funerals, they'll make it harder for you!
  5. Oh boy, you got me. Actually, I thought a passport was required, so...
  6. Unusual but happens. Try OTC steroid cream and moisturize after shower and bath like Crazy. PS it'll be worse in winter. ANY possibility it's medications???
  7. WHAT A GREAT Thread! WOW!!! I think the bottom line to all is... do some MINDFUL things. THINK!!!
  8. Taper, don't go cold turkey. Get to no simple carbs (no sweets), no caffine, and no carbonation. Get to a diet that is Mostly lean meats, eggs, cottage cheese, etc. Don't worry about portions yet, just "detox"... And up the water! It might take two weeks or so to get there...
  9. Yes, CITRATE is recommended (it absorbs better). I use Unjury products: http://www.unjury.com/store/protein/bariatric-vitamins/opurity-calcium-citrate-plus-multi-vitamin.html
  10. Keea, this is the HARD part. We eat for SO many reasons that have nothing to do with hunger and stomachs and nutrition. I have no real wisdom, I am a true stress eater in a stress-filled world. I DO drink a LOT of water on the theory that if my stomach is full (even for just a little while) there is no room for jumk. Good luck, friend!
  11. I have BCBS Fed and my primary care MD had pleanty of weights!!!
  12. had a drain, removed day two. Did not have more than "some discomfort" but the pain pump sure made the music on the iPOD nice!
  13. A darned good day to see the MD!! And no staples for me either...
  14. Oh Lipstick, nice new colors, though I'll miss the watermelon of summer...
  15. MD time for sure, and edless is spot on. At this point worrying about dehydration is a good thing to worry about!
  16. No worries, this is a "longer view" process. You have not gained fat. More likely just water. In any case keep with the program and the losses will average DOWN!!!. Be excited with 1 to 2 piunds a week! Then you can be real happy if more.
  17. Delaware here, Christiana Health System.
  18. Well welcome. And ANYTHING is possible. I have about 225 to lose altogether, and have lost over 75 so far. The "stomach" part is easy. The HEAD part is where we ALL need to focus. Look forward to seeing your posts and comments.

If you have sleep apnea you'll probably get a CPAP machine. This happened to me and I Love it and I Sleep GREAT!
  20. I went the sensible diet route for months before the pre-op liquid fast. It helped me.
  21. Yes, starting early might be a good story for others. But for you, get your head in the game... And especially for the clear liquid days!!! And things WILL be strict after surgery... or you may be visited by pain and nausea and the slimies!!!
  22. Explore options re Protein shakes, and your NUT should be able to help. Headaches MIGHT be from detoxing from caffine??? Drink LOTS of Water to flush the system. And in this difficult diet it WILL get better after 3/4 days IF you stick to it. Cheat and start the 3/4 days all over again!
  23. Have you gotten advice from your program? Generally (and programs ARE different) until the 8th week you are either in pureed or soft foods, and the focus is (1) get your Water in and (2) Protein. If you have ANY (after your protein)room after your protein... then some cooked veggies or fruit. Stay away from starchy carbs for now. You will likely stay away from breads, rice, potatoes for at least 6 months. BUT again, ptograms vary... How many calories? It depends on your height and weight and activity. Your NUT is your best source! Stall??? no worries... Just be (and this is hard) patient and follow your program.
  24. just cut down... a little more and more each day. Some say try to substitute water, not other "sweet" options to get your tastebuds reprogrammed. I do find that I drink a lot more water, and don't mind it a bit!
