  1. Measure you neck, waist, hips, bust, thighs, and upper arm and start tracking that. STAY OFF OF THAT SCALE! Only go on when you are visiting your Dr. or NUT
  2. Well, the no drinking with food is meant for flexibility... Docs don't want you oi fill up on Water and not on Protein. Additionally, they don't want the protein that you did eat to go through the sleeve faster. Think of hearty beef and veggie Soup or cold cereal- both of those have liquids and solids. So you CAN have liquids but make it a rule not to have it all of the time.... make it the exception. Just have a sip or two and leave it at that
  3. I have to chime in and let you all know that I had a very delicious cupcake the other day and guess what? it was awesome, delicious, scrumptious, and then sickeningly sweet, nauseously overpowering and I had to stop after 3 bites. I found myself lying down for an hour after those bites...I think I was getting a baby dump. It was too much sugar although I mentally wanted to devour it I really couldn't- it made me feel sick.
  4. Get them back then by bringing in gourmet cupcakes loaded with fat...LOL
  5. I am a huge foodie and I love to cook. I have been exactly where you were too. I agree to having the occasional treat and for us that treat is normally a bite or two. What I do to keep myself in check is tell myself that I can make a better version of those Cookies, brownies, pies..... Sometimes I have to tell myself what I don't like about the person who made it in order to further enforce my resistance to eating it. It can be things like she chew her nails, or he is easily distracted... and then I automatically assume that their delectable delight is terrible.
  6. Need to to mix up your Protein shakes and try something different? There is a clear Liquid Protein broth from unjury called chicken soup and it REALLY good.. BTW you can eat this one warm, and it taste EXACTLY like how you would want homemade chicken soup to taste. If you like chocolate, try Syntrax's nectar in Chocolate Truffle. With Water it tastes like a YooHoo, with milk it tastes like a Wendy's milkshake. I also have The Nectar in Vanilla Bean torte (23gm protein) and I mix it up with 2 oz of blueberry kefir and 4 oz of milk (9gm protein). Kefir is 99% lactose free and has just as much protein as milk. If you like fruit juices try Unjury's strawberry Sorbet. Mix it with water, lemonade, or milk and yogurt (strawberry cheesecake). I have made this one so many ways even into ice pops! Of course all of these items are 0 carb and 0 fat too. Samples of the Nectar can be purchases at Vitamin Shoppe and Unjury through Unjury.com Looking for sleeve & bypass recipes from someone who actually had it AND tastes YUMMY?… go here… http://theworldaccor...e.blogspot.com/
  7. There ARE better forms of Protein... and if you can tolerate it the best is to make smoothies and add in a similar flavor dry protein mix. I use Syntrax nectar. After trying the samples I bought a few tubs in a variety of flavors. The price point come to about $0.68 a serving and that is MUCH CHEAPER than those bullets out there. I make about 6 oz and enjoy my shakes... OP that was a funny post!
  8. As for Detox..... If you have already had the sleeve you should have already had detox. The process of liquid diets jump starts the detox process.
  9. Mr Dr didn't want me to leave until I had a BM and I was drinking enough fluids. By day 4 I had one and every day going forward I have one.
  10. To be completely honest sometimes I have to take a drink. I have had foods so far that were extremely salty, too dry, and too spicy. Additionally, I can eat Cereal now which consists of food plus liquids. I truly believe that the no drinking rule was set in place for a couple of reasons. 1) The liquids will get you full too quickly. 2) The food you just ate will pass through the sleeve much faster than without the liquids. 3) Many of us naturally choose drinks with calories in it or drinks with carbonation- all leading to less Protein being eaten.
  11. A lot of people on here get the costco one but for me it was waay too sweet, and tasted sort of like a really thick melted milkshake from McDonald's. If I were you get samples first before you invest in a tub that you may hate. unjury (unjury.com) and Syntrax nectar (luckyvitamin.com/vitacost.com) both have samples, have 0 carbs, 0 fat, and have an amazing amino acid profile... something that a lot of Protein shakes don't normally have. Isopure is also pretty good. If you are looking to go all natural without artificial ingredients try Jay Robb, who has shakes in Whey isolate and Egg white and a variety of flavors. Last but not least, get a variety of flavors because you will get sick of the same thing all of the time. Syntrax Nectar has over 20 different flavors from Cappuccino, to iced tea, to chocolate truffle, to fuzzy navel...
  12. As a marketing director, I would naturally think you are one as well. Very clever wit on the phone. I had something very similar happen a few years ago and my response was "Why are you wasting your time calling my company when you can find out everything from Yahoo! finance". So the focus was not so much on them wasting my time but they were wasting theirs and the calls stopped. If someone wants your service for the actual service you bestow they will call regardless of the DNC list. You can't please everyone, so worrying about that is not realistic. Any complaints that could be written up does not have to be legitimate. It may be something like rude customer service, broken materials, or overpaid postage. Know what I mean? I doubt a telemarketer will send a valid complaint that will reach your board of directors.
  13. Just out of curiosity... have you done the cottage cheese test yet? Maybe you are eating much less than you should and your body is starving itself and holding onto the weight. When i did the test I was surprised to find out that I could hold much more than I was actually eating.
  14. Well, if it were that easy, most of us would be a lot thinner. For me, my trouble is that I had no will power. Every meal time was like putting a feed bag over a horses head and I was going to town! I kept eating until I felt like I had a food coma. I am not sure why it happened, but it did. All of the diets I went on didn't work for a variety of reason, many of which lead me to go on a huge binge eating whatever it was that I couldn't allow. Weight Watcher's allowed me to have whatever I wanted but with my hectic schedule I couldn't always track my food and would end up eating over my points. After the sleeve, I am physically forced to stop eating because I feel full much sooner... so in a sense I can still go to town eating, but I wont eat nearly as much as I used to. Additionally, Since some of the ghrelin has been removed and some is produced by the pancreas, so far I have better control and will power to stop when needed so I don't eat until stuffed.
  15. Wow, I am so sorry this has happened to you. I asked in my classes about "deflated parts" and the entire class got in an uproar and laughed hysterically. They told me to expect it, and that it will happen.
  16. Um..... YEAH! Let me put it this way, Before surgery I could eat a baked potato, a whole ribeye, roll, and 1/2 cup of broccoli, with a soda. After surgery I could eat maybe 1 beef hot dog with bun and mustard. (We were out and there was nothing else to get that was small) The hot dog was at my max limits.. so I don't eat like that all often. Normally I eat about 1/4-1/2 cup of food per meal. I found out recently that the hot dog that I ate was considered by the FDA to be a "normal" serving of calories for a meal. Weird, right? I made me realize just how much overeating I was actually doing.
  17. When I was in Japan, the ladies there would reduce the appearance of cellulite by getting a "fat" massage 2-4x a week for 30 minutes. I asked about it and it helps to improve circulation too. While it was expensive in Japan, it seems cheaper if I can get my hubby to do it.
  18. So would I. Has anyone heard from the OP yet on other topics?
  19. ^ they are not used because the quality of Protein is not good. These bullets are often filled with Collagen. It is the difference between eating meat vs eating the connective tissues that joins two meats together. Which would you rather eat and which holds more protein that your body can actually use? Hopefully you said the Meat, LOL I haven't seen the Yes Whey ones, just make sue that it is mainly Whey isolate. If there is a combo of collagen and whey isolate try to find out what the mix ratio is or don't get it. Also try to find out if the essential amino acids are present in the protein.
  20. I make tuna fish "sandwiches". I mix the avocado with the tuna instead of mayo and wrap in warm baby spinach leaves.
  21. of course you can!
  22. I say the body is beautiful and what all of us can do with our bodies is even more beautiful. Why not feel confident in our own sexuality?
  23. Hold ON.... While a blood clot is a concern for everyone. I have a blood clot still and nothing she wrote would signify that she had one. I would really hate to see anyone on here get all frazzled when it isn't warranted. A rapid pulse when up could mean anything. A rapid pulse could signify many things including an infection, which I guess is why you are on antibiotics. I do agree with being concerned and calling a Dr. if anything is troubling you, as I mentioned previously. bandtovsgone52813, do you have any symptoms on a blood clot? Please go here http://www.hematology.org/Patients/Blood-Disorders/Blood-Clots/5233.aspx Keep us up to date on what is going on. {{{hugs}}}
  24. Hmmmm... When people write that they are unable to tolerate shakes it has to do with taste, texture, or smell. Do you have a variety of shakes flavors and brands? Right now is when you need to try out samples. I know cost is often an issue with people but think of it like this, a 2.12lb tub of Syntrax nectar Protein comes to $.83 a serving at vitacost.com.. that sounds pretty cheap when I consider the cost and flavors of the ones at costco which I found was waaaay too sweet for me. Also you can look into Jay Robb Protein Shakes. It is all natural and comes in Egg White protein and whey Isolate. Whichever protein you get you want to make sure that all of the essential amino acids are present in the profile otherwise you may be wasting your money and nutrition on garbage.
