  1. Hrm, I'm not sure. I know lots of thin people with darker skin there, though!
  2. I'm with you there on the head hunger. Ugh. I've lost 99 lbs, but would love to get down another 50 so I'd weigh 180. That would be awesome. I'm aiming for at least 30 more. My surgeon said his goal is for me to be under 200 lbs for the rest of my life.
  3. Thanks for the tip! I bet that will feel great on my feet.
  4. You look great! Congrats on those 70 pounds!
  5. Cool! I'll have to see if I can get it from my Library to try it. Thanks!
  6. You're doing great! Everyone looses weight differently. We have really similar stats. I don't know my calories or carbs or fats... I keep track of my food by weighing it.
  7. I brought lots of stuff that I didn't use. I USED: -hair ties -chapstick -breath strips -wisps (waterless tooth brush things) -ear phones (the sound for the TV was in my bed, so you plugged earphones into the bed -borrowed kindle (for reading/games) -nightgown -loose undies the surgery group provides everyone with a butterfly shaped abdominal support pillow. It REALLY helped for coughing, changing positions, etc.
  8. In the surgery prep cubicle I was asked to completely disrobe and then put on a surgical gown-thing, and non-slip socks.
  9. I would check out "modest swimwear" on google there's LOTS out there.
  10. I made Moosewood's Butternut Squash soup, herbed peas (that I then put in the food processor), stewed pears, applesauce, lasagna (homemade tomato sauce with lots of herbs, layered with ricotta mixed with salt, pepper, one egg, and Parmesan cheese, and then bake it for 15 minutes in an oven or toaster oven. I constructed those in a small oven-safe bowl,in single portion sizes) Buffalo chicken salad- 1 can of chicken (or a small chicken breast) in the food processor with 2T blue cheese, 2T celery, Franks hotsauce to taste, and lite Ranch dressing to get to the right consistency. I also pureed the dinners that my husband was having, sometimes. Stew beef or pork cooked in the crock pot for a LONG TIME pureed really really well. Then, you can also puree up the carrots and onions that were in there as your veggie. At the beginning I ate 2T Protein, 1T fruit, 1T veggie at each meal. Good luck!
  11. YAY!!! You need more calories, though. Try light fruit juice for a couple of your hour's worth of liquid. ALSO- you need Protein. Make up a Protein shake with 2%-whole milk and Protein powder. My nutritionist said that when you're just doing liquid, it's really easy to not get enough dietary fat, which can slow down weight loss and generally be bad for you. I was instructed to have 3c of milk with protein in it per day during liquid phase.
  12. SO true. Ugh, I don't miss that part either. I just wanted to CHEW something!!!
  13. I had a lot of people mention it this week, more than ever before. Huh. Congrats to you! Jillian Michaels, yeah? I'm jogging with my husband, but I always thought her workouts would be too tough. How do you like them?
  14. Congrats! I'm at 99 too. Oh scale... please move! I'm going to have a party when it gets there. heh.
  15. Thanks! I'm 5'10" and 25 years old, so my BMI in this picture is a little over 33, I think. The dress/belt/cardigan optical illusion definitely helps. I don't look like that in regular clothes. It's a very slimming combination. :-D
  16. You can do it! Your body knows this weight. It's happy here. Let it have its way for a few more days and then KICK IT"S BUTT!
  17. There's a monthly There's a monthy VST newsletter than you can get automatically emailed to you. Each month they have a different "member spotlight".
  18. I'm a conventional store XL on top and a Lane Bryant 20 on the bottom. I haven't lost weight this way before either, and it's a little frustrating... but part of it is belly skin. A BIG part of it is belly/abdominal fat. I still don't have a butt.
  19. I would suggest seeing a counselor. They can help you sort things out, and can be a great option. Weight loss surgery won't cure/solve depression, but not dealing with what you're feeling right now CAN sabotage your weight loss post-op.
  20. Oof. I hope this heals well and you feel better!
