  1. I paid $149 for my Nike FuelBand that I ordered from Nike.com. It will link to the Lose It app on my iPhone.
  2. I am 4 weeks post op and I have learned the hard way several times on how much is too much. today I made some chicken tenderloins and put 3 ounces on the food scale and it didn't look like much. but oh boy was it too much! I will not have more than 2 ounces in the future. pain in my chest and stomach for almost 2 hours, spitting up large amounts of slime and even vomited up some.
  3. My energy is getting worse at 1 month after surgery. I'm taking my b12 and multi vitamin, I drink an average of 40 ounces of water and average 60-70 grams of protein. But by lunch time it's torture to stay awake. I have so much I need to do! Any ideas? I thought about energy drinks or even possibly asking my endocrinology doctor if its ok for me to take the diet pills he prescribed last year.
  4. this is totally normal after surgery. they pumped you full of fluids in the hospital. all of that fluid will fall back off in the first week. just drink lots of water so that your body doesn't retain it.
  5. I was wondering what actually causes leaks and how do you know if you have one?
  6. I will let you know how the FuelBand works for me. the FedEx tracking says it will be here by the 20th. I checked out the FuelBand app and it gets great reviews, but I have to connect my phone to the computer to download the app because it is so large.
  7. I bought some unflavored Greek yogurt to use in making chicken salad or tuna salad, in place of mayo, but haven't tried it yet. Greek yogurt has twice the protein of other yogurts but its hard to find ones that ate low in carbs. the best I've had is the Oikos Caramel Greek Yogurt. it has 10g protein, 17g carbs and 0 fat and 110 calories.
  8. My NUT didn't really tell me to count carbs, just protein, but I know this is important. Also, do you try to be in Ketosis like Atkins?
  9. wow!! I can't believe you look that great at 170 and 5'5" tall. you go girl! I'm 5'6 and definitely did not look that good when I weighed 170. you must have a lot if muscle.
  10. I just ordered the Nike FuelBand today for $149 from Nike.com. it has a free app to track your activity when you wear the wristband. you can also compete with other friends which would make it more fun.
  11. I just ordered the Nike FuelBand today. So how us it working for you? I'm going to link it to my Lose It app on my iPhone and iPad.
  12. don't give up! you have come too far to stop now. surround yourself with "positive"! watch some positive movies and read some positive books. pray and read your bible. put on some music that fires you up. (like the Rocky movie songs) Now go kick some but and show the world that you CAN do it!
  13. I weighed this morning and I've lost 14 pounds since my jan. 21st surgery. weight day of surgery was 232 and I'm 5'6" tall. (I've shrunk!) what is everyone else's stats from Jan. 21st sleeves!
  14. I know every doctor is different, I wish mine recommended a slice of whole grain bread or crackers. I have had 1 whole grain cracker with some pimento cheese twice and no problem.
  15. I bought the Viactiv Caramel Soft Chews calcium and they are delicious!
  16. Maybe you could ask him which one he would rather do, take care of you or the twins. that way it's his decision. or try the old reverse psychology. Very nicely let him know that your Mom has offered to go take care of you and that you've lined up another reliable relative or friend to watch the twins. And just go along your happy way and see if he comes around. He may be a little insecure about you having the surgery and that's causing his attitude. just my two cents. either way, you know Mom will take the best care of you. good luck!
  17. Yes I am dealing with the same thing. I'm 19 days out from surgery. I was 231 before surgery and on day 14 I was at 221, now 5 days later I'm still at 221. I read all the post about stalls and how it's normal. one thing that's hard for me is I'm afraid that everyone expects me to lose 30 or 40 pounds the first month and at my size that's just not going to happen. there can be a lot of stress from "expectations".
