If you go out on Amazon there are a ton of high Protein meal cookbooks. There is even a "Dummies" book for those who have had weight loss surgery that has a lot of great recipes in it.

You truly can puree anything. I blended Soup, eggs, and chili. I did not blend cottage cheese because it kind of sounded gross. Yogurt is a good staple too...greek. I returned to work at 3 weeks and was on pureed foods. I ate oatmeal for bfast and mostly Soups for lunch. Dinner...I just blended whatever we were having or had blended soup. I did do hummus a couple of times, as well as pintos & cheese (from taco bell) when we were out and about and needed to eat.

Dont forget about the 3 week stall. It happens to most of us. If you do a search here on the website you will see thousands of discussions about it.

I drink between 4-6 cups of Decaf with sugar-free Creamer everyday. I do count the calories for the creamer on my MyFitnessPal log. My NUT doesn't care about the coffee. I was only restricted from that during the first 2 weeks.
I don't drink milk or juice...usually just Water. I drink 2-4 bottles of Water everyday in addition to the above mentioned decaf coffee. Too much sugar in juice and usually not enough room or not enough calories left in the day for milk.

I dislike anything in a box or package. I shop on the exterior of the grocery store. the longer the shelf life the shorter the human life. I typically eat things that spoil.
If it has about 5 or less ingredients it goes into my body. If there are so many ingredients and I cannot pronounce most of them it does not touch my lips.
    That's just me.
I am sure you can make your own frozen type sammiches with a dough that has less carbs and better fillings and seal it with a sammich cut and seal device.
I would defiantly re-evaluate your frozen food choice.
But if you like them then go for it.

So, I thought...and still think I am a slow loser. However, I will hit my 10 month mark on Thursday and I am down 94 lbs as of this morning...and I have finally briefly touched (and hope to stay here now) "onederland" this morning. That is almost 10 lbs a month! That has NEVER happened to me in my entire life! It has taken me all summer to lose about 30 lbs, but my scale is finally moving again. In the meantime, I am down from size 24 bottoms to size 16 (and they are getting loose already) and from 26/28 tops to 18/20. EVERY TIME I see my doctor he reminds me that this is a marathon, not a sprint. Keep that in mind and you'll do great!

Well first of all, DO NOT believe everything that you read.
I was sleeved on 5/15 and down 48 lbs.
I was concerned and saw my dr and this is what he said.
1.Everyone is different. You can not compare what you have lost to what others have lost.
Stick to the plan, use your sleeve as a tool. The weight will come off. There will be times where you will lose inches and it will seem like the scale is not moving.
DO NOT Weigh every day, do it every other week.
Make sure that you exercise every other day for at least 30 minutes

    I believe him!!

a pound a day is REALLY good. Don't put too much thought into this. Just focus on meeting your nutritional and Fluid goals. It will come off as it needs to.
Great Job. Remember to take photos and measurements weekly to document your progress. It really helps.

I rarely do shakes anymore. A basic days menu for me is a hardboiled egg in the morning or some cottage cheese, a couple hours later I may have another or a couple strips of turkey bacon, lunch I usually have some chicken that I stripped off of a rotissiere chicken, a couple hours later I may have a couple more ounces of that, I munch on turkey Jerky bites, dinner is maybe some meatballs, a tilapia filet, more chicken, crockpot porkchop, lunchmeat rollups (lunchmeat with cream cheeses and a little chive rolled up), for a snack later I may have a glass of milk, a couple pieces of cheese or a small handful of almonds. I keep Protein Bars in my purse just in case Im out and about and need a meal quickly.

YEP.. that's how I do it.. add a bit of butter.. the lemon juice, olive oil, butter and spices make a great sauce. Switch out tilapia for Salmon and do the same thing. Easy, fast and taste great.

Get yourself some 5 spice and bake the tilapia with that seasoning. Cooks.com has the recipie my wife and I loved it.
I also bake flounder and tilapia by dredgine the fish in a beat up egg, then sprinkle with seasoned panko bread crums. Bake it in the oven at 350 for about 20 minutes or until the fish flakes easily with a fork. Both taste great this way.

I do a marinade for my fish tacos that I use on tilapia which is very easy. It is just lime juice, garlic, cumin and dill. I do it by sight but it is around 1/2C of lime juice, and 1-2 tsp of each of the seasonings. I marinate it for just a few minutes, the lime will start poaching it essentially, so I leave it 5 minutes max and it could be baked or cooked in a lightly greased pan. Good stuff.

First of all...I probably know more people who I am worried they will die from NOT doing it. While he was probably trying to give you a reality check, it seems a bit callous and irresponsible to focus on bad outcomes without providing other details that probably had a much higher level of impact on the bad outcomes than the surgery did. I can tell you...if you do what your surgeon tells you to do, and if you don't think this is a magic "cure" for being overweight - instead viewing it as a tool in your tool box of being healthy, then you should feel more confident with your decision. Despite success rates with this surgery, there are still a lot of pcps who are "old school" and who don't accept that fact that there are some people who this is truly a last resort for....that not doing it will be far more detrimental than the risks of having the surgery. There are risks with any type of surgery...even death. But the fact of the matter is that having all the weight related comorbidities is a far greater risk. That's my two cents.
