  1. Hi Kim. I'm in San Antonio. I start my Pre-op diet on Monday and have my surgery on the 18th. Welcome to the journey. You are worth it. Hugs.
  2. I just want to hug you all. I so relate to all of these. It's so sad what we deal with. I once had to stop my sister-in- law about asking me yet again what I did for my weight as if I has never dieted in my life. I actually broke down in tears and told her that I was a good person dammit. That if all they ever saw was my weight and were ashamed to be seen with me then I would make sure not to be around them. I told her it seemed that no one cared that I'm a hard worker, support myself, don't have a criminal record, and help rescues and shelters. I told her it seemed it would be more acceptable for them if I was a drug addict, prostitute, pedophile, serial killer than a far person. She shut up after that. That's the number one reason I like animals more than people. My dogs don't judge me and they know when I'm sad. They love me no matter my weight. Sorry it's been an emotional day and I just had to vent.
  3. See those were my thoughts exactly. I'm going to be home recuperating so I might as well lose the caffeine too. I know I'm not going to have any and I will stick with it. It won't be a choice anymore. It will be a necessity.
  4. @Jussme. What's your pre-op diet? Mine starts on the 4th and I get 2 protein drinks a day and a small meal. No snacks just water.
  5. I tell myself this is my time. It's about me and it's ok for me to be selfish and think about myself for once. I'm worth it and this is an investment in myself.
  6. I'm looking for you to give me inspiration. I'm in San Antonio too. I start my pre-op diet Monday. I am with Dr. Gonzalez scheduled for Feb 18th. I will be at NE Baptist. Keep us posted on how your recovery goes.
  7. Great. The waiting is what gets you. So happy you have jumped through all the hurdles.
  8. This hits home. I thought I was the only one that noticed I couldn't tie my shoelaces straight. I won't miss the kind hearted comments of you are so pretty if only you lost some weight. The not so nice comments of you know someone of your body type or someone big like you. I won't miss my father-in-law's comments of when you were Normal. My Mom's comments of as if you don't like to eat. The therapy kids I work with endless questions of why are you so big or just straight out you are so fat. The difficulty involved in getting up off the floor. Lane Bryant, Avenue, etc. Buying super expensive bras bc they are the only ones that make them into size. Getting frustrated looking in the mirror bc everything I wear makes me look like I have a little head on a line backers body. Not sleeping bc of sleep apnea. Getting judged on what I eat. Achy feet and legs Rash in the summer
  9. Help me too. I have the same surgery date and start the diet on Monday too.
  10. I start pre-op diet on Monday. I have to have 2 Protein drinks a day and one small meal. Drink lots of Water. I am caffeine addicted specifically diet coke. I'm going to give it up for sure once I get sleeved. I can't quit right now bc with my sleep apnea I need a boost to get through the day. I'm going to try to drink only one a day on my pre-op diet. Not the best but I can't suffer withdrawal symptoms right now. I have to work since I'm already gonna take two weeks off for the surgery. My question is how did you all handle your own soda addiction? Please don't reprimand me that I should have quit drinking soda a long time ago. I will when I get sleeved bc I will be home and if I go through withdrawal at least I'm not working.
  11. Same here. I think maybe I shouldn't then I think of all the reasons I should. They outweigh the reasons not to. Pun intended. Surgery scheduled for Feb. 18th. Pre-op diet starts Feb. 4th.
  12. Unfortunately no. I will be at NE Baptist on Village Drive. I was going to be at Foundations but bc the doctors won't be available the last week of February it was either take the 18th as my date or wait until March 4th. I'm with Texas Center for medical and surgical weight loss.
  13. Good luck. I start my pre-op on Monday and get sleeved on Feb. 18th.
  14. I though about it too but I went for the sleeve bc: 1. It 's a foreign item in your body. 2. It will eventually deteriorate and need to come out and/or be replaced. 3. Visits required to get fills. 4. Most insurance won't cover fills. Or they make it part of your deductible. 5. More time consuming with weekly or monthly visits until band is filled appropriately. 6. Weight loss is slower and alot less compared to the sleeve.
  15. I'm sad, scared, excited, giddy, etc all at the same time. I just got my date today. I get sleeved Feb. 18th in San Antonio, Tx. with Dr. Gonzalez. Pre-op diet seared Monday. 2 protein drinks and a small meal for dinner. I get my pre-op visit done on the 14th. So my last meal on Sunday is going to be Rudy's Bar-B-Que. The "worst" bar-b-que. It's been on the Food Network several times. Bad I know to plan a last meal but I know I won't be eating Rudy's for quite a long time. I must have their cream corn one last time. LOL!!
  16. Finally got a call and I am scheduled for Feb. 18th. It was going to be the 20th but surgeon isn't available that day. I start my pre-op diet Monday. I get 2 protein drinks a day and a small dinner avoiding carbs. That's going to be tough.
  17. I understand how you feel. My surgery is scheduled for Feb. 20th. I'm an emotional wreck right now.
  18. ArcusX. I agree with you bc that's how my husband is being with me. He's very passive aggressive on my surgery. I just called him to tell him my surgery is scheduled for Feb. 20th. And all I got was cool. Meanwhile I'm emotional and scared. I just want support.
  19. Hi I'm in San Antonio and waiting on insurance auth. I'm hoping to have the surgery sometime at the end of Feb. My doctor is Dr. Gonzalez.
