you could add a little mint to the lemon Water

I am going through the same thing. My taste buds change all the time. I can't do those "sweet" unsweetened drinks either. Right now it's plain Water, occasionally G2, and mostly water with lemon. I make a big pitcher of water, add sliced up lemons and a few limes and some ice. It is delicious! It gets more and more refreshing each day! Try it and let me know what you think!

I don't think you're crazy - I'd say hold onto those feelings but keep them to yourself. Being disgusted with bad food isn't a bad thing!

You're hangry. It's normal. Enjoy the company, sip your drink, and enjoy the healthy new you that is emerging.

Oh lordy! I didn't even see that. Strike everything I said. Hold my advice for post op liquid diet. EEEEEK!
Pre-op I was allowed one yogurt a day, two Protein shakes and one lean meat and veggie dinner.
I definitely wasn't allowed Gatorade unless you are drinking G2.
Sorry about that!

She's pre-op though. She'd probably be dying on what you and I are eating these days

In Colorado and I think California, there is a chain called Wahoo's. They are known for fish tacos. I stopped in for lunch and they now have a paleo plate. It was 4oz of 2 different meats, chicken, fish, beef. your choice, 2tbls of guacamole and some sort of cabbage slaw. Low carb, high Protein. 43gr of protein.

READY4CHANGE2013 reacted to Lisa's Hope in Progress Pics. Fifteen months out on 8/21/13
Hi friends!!
Just wanted to post my 15 months progression pics. I am currently 167. I am 14 pounds from my goal of 154 which will give me a normal BMI of 25. I wish I could get to 145 but I think that is a dream!! It has really been hard the last 3 months. This weight is crawling off. I know I will reach goal but it may take me until the end of my 2nd year out. That is ok though. I started out at 294 and to date I have lost 126 pounds. I'm so grateful!!!
I'm having a lot of back issues and finally had an MRI two weeks ago that showed 9 bulging disc, two protruding in my spinal cord, benign tumor, bone spurs, spinal stenosis. This MRI was of my neck and middle back. I still have to get thelower back scanned. I know that if I had not gotten this weight off, it could be worse!! Right now, I have no idea how I would be able to carry the weight I use to carry. I know that being that much overweight is probably what put my back in this shape.
I need plastics bad!!! I have sagging skin everywhere! I really want my tummy done and my breast lifted. I need my arms done as well but I think I can live with them. Not that I want to but I will have to pay for these surgeries as I had to pay for my WLS. So I think it may be another year before I can get this all done.
Ok, take care friends!! You guys rock!

I get out of my car at work today and start walking across the parking lot...I feel like I need to pull my pants up, so I reach to my waist...don't feel the pants...look down they have fallen down to my knees! I quickly pull them up and look around to notice not too many people are near me...the rest of the day I walked around with one hand holding up my pants...I must have looked like a fool...and somebody may have noticed in the parking lot--I either made their day by giving them a huge laugh or scarred them for life!

1st let me ask..who did you do this surgery for? You or everyone esle?? If you don't set in your mind that you will be SUCCESSFUL you will always FAIL!! Instead of eating try going for a walk or reading a book...NO ONE is forcing you to put food into your mouth...it's a choice that you have made. I'm not yelling at you or coming down on you..I'm just being real. I too have that issue and this is what I've chosen to do to AVOID regaining. GOOD LUCK!! You have a friend in me if you just want to SCREAM!!

I also moved back home when I decided to go back to school. I am 10 weeks out from my surgery. My family has not changed their eating habits or stopped bringing snack food in the house, and honestly, why should they? I am the one who wanted this surgery and to change my life, not them. I buy my own food, prepare it myself, and usually eat by myself. They are supportive in that they tell me I'm doing a good job and they can see the difference, but I don't expect them to change their eating habits. Hell, I went out with a close friend a couple of weeks ago to see a band and as I was sitting sipping on my ice tea, she ordered a chocolate Peanut Butter cup dessert thing!
We can't change those around us, we just need to do what we have to do take care of ourselves. You can do it!

Girl, you've got to pull yourself together. You have done an amazing job over the course of this past year. YOU have done that, no one else did that for you. YOU made the choice. We all have **** going on in our lives, but you have to decide for yourself that you are worth it, and you are worth it! Go back to basics. Get in your exercise. Don't let your family sabotage your efforts - YOU ARE TOTALLY WORTH IT!

Honey, moving back home is a bad step. I bet if you change your environment for the better, the weight will come off again. First, stop expecting help from your parents. It sounds like they've pretty much shown you none is coming from that direction. Move on emotionally and that will help you while you are living at home. Second, spend as little time at home as possible. Just sleep and bathe there. Never eat there, take your food with you to school. Get a cooler for your car. You can do this. You've come this far, and you can finish the journey and stay healthy. Good luck and prayers for you.
