  1. Your not being pushy at all Penni... thank you for caring so much. I do hope he removes the port, but the way the nurse sounded as though my infection was no big deal I dont know if I will get anything done. You know My Dr. is the sweetest man but if he doesnt fix me soon Im moving on, I will look for another Dr. to take me no matter what it takes. I hate all of this mess already. I am trying so hard to keep my hopes high but its hard sometimes.
  2. I feel really bad. Anyway they called me today from my Dr. to change the time just in case they have to take out my port. Well I told her about the size of the infection and she acted like it was no big deal. Maybe I am making it out to be worse then it is.... I dont know what to do now.. I guess I will drive up to CO and see what happens, I really hope this trip will not be a waste of time and money which I wam really squeezing right now to do this. I am just a little upset right now. Thanks for letting me vent over this
  3. GOOD NEWS!!!! I am going to go see my band Dr. Friday... I am scouring for change to make the trip but it is well needed!!! woohoo finally I got something done! until then...........
  4. No I dont have a band Dr. that is any closer.. There is a few a bit closer in ElPaso... but... I dont know. I am just going to see what happens
  5. I will be calling my band Dr tomorrow. Just to give you an idea of how big it is... the infection/hole area is about as big as the head of a thumb tack.. then the redness is around that. As I look at the size it didnt compare to Lisa's infected area.... my husband gave me a good idea I will take a picture of it holding a dime next to it... I will add it after Im done... Okay here it is
  6. Okay I have been on Antibiotics for 6 days now today is day 7... Does this thing look any better??? Reminder: the infection looks a lot bigger then it really is... it is almost as big as a dime... but still not quite. (thats all i knew to compare it too)
  7. I dont know of any.. my Dr. is in Pueblo, CO... Sorry Good luck finding one.
  8. Hope you have a GREAT day!!!! Happy Birthday!!!
  9. Best wishes to you, glad it is finally your turn! woohoo! Take Care
  10. That is a wonderful NSV! the best kind are the ones where you can hold your head up high and know that your weight was NOT an issue!! Thats awesome!
  11. Hi Vera, I didnt get my leak check under fluoro at all, what happen was he would put 4cc or more in and let it sit for a bit while I drank Water then he would pull out what he put in and only .5cc would come out. He did that several times. I know he checked the port after he removed it and there was a leak. Now this time was my 1st fill with my new port and the same thing happened. Yeah and he did replace most of the tubing. I am just waiting now. I was going to have the surgery on April 27th but my neice is getting married April 29th so I wanted to be there for that, and his next open spot was May 25th. I am keeping an eye out on this infection and I am now on oral and cream antibiotics so I hope that they will help.. if not I will be making a road trip soon.
  12. Yeah I did, I talked to Denise and she was very nice and is looking into my band leak. She is going to talk to my Dr. to get more information on it I guess. PM me if you want her email address or phone number.
  13. Oh belive me I am keeping an eye on it... if it does not show signs of getting better by this weekend... I am making a road trip!!! Thanks
  14. The port is NOT infected, it is the skin that is it was after i got my fill in March! the nurse at the doctors office if the port was infected I would have a lot of pain in the port area.. I just have stinging on the skin. Im not getting the band replaced right away because my neice is getting married and I need to be there. the band I have now is not hurtting in anyway. My Dr. even gave me the choice of keeping this band or getting a new one. Im just going to see what happens. Thanks you all for your information
  15. Im am praying it will be the same for me. I remember when you got yours replaced, your leak was in the tubing, correct? I am actually looking forward to my new band... but for now I am more worried about this infection. it seems like everything is getting tossed at me at once and I dont seem to have the ability to soak it all in... taking it one step at a time thats all I can do for the moment.
  16. Glad to hear your incision is closing up... Mine on the other hand was NOT an incision but merly a needle poke from getting a fill (for the 7th time) just one simple poke caused what you see above. I got my meds and will be taking them as the Dr. ordered.
  17. My Dr. put in over two bottles of saline Water in me still no restriction.... this was after my port was replaced. So therefore we thought none other then the band... During the prt replacement he replaced most if not all of the tubing so that was the case. he put over 15ccs in my 10cm band which would of closed me off completely and still nothing.. I could feel it. just my luck eh...
  18. WOIW everyone has done a great job!!! My one year will be April 28th. I have lost 54 pounds, I had my port replaced on Dec 22 due to a leak... went for a fill on March 10th and found out I have a leak in my band. So I am getting my whole band replaced on May 25th. I guess I will have a NEW band date. but you all will always be my band family of April 2005! (((((((((((((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))))))) every and GREAT JOB!!!!
  19. Jim, I am so sorry I did not see this post until now. There is another person on here that just had her band replaced due to a leak in the band. I was planning on have my surgery April 27 1 day before my bandaverisary but I have to wait until May 25th. I am thinking of it a new experence. I will be starting all over. Lets keep in touch okay.. PM or email me anytime! Well everyone my surgery will be May 25th. I talked to Denise from Inamed today and she was just the nicest person. I hope to get all this fixed soon. Right now I am more worried about the little infection I have over my port area then my leaky band. but I am hanging in there.. I want to cry sometimes but I WONT let myself!!! I need to be strong and know that this 2nd time WILL work for me. Thank you all for putting up with me and all my problems you all have been wonderful support! (((((((((((hugs)))))))))))
  20. Here is an updated picture of what it is looking like... you can see redness on each side of the infected area that is where the band aid was...
  21. I called my Band Dr. and he wasnt in but the nurse said as long as I dont feel any pain in the port area then it could be just on the skin. All i feel is stinging, and kind of a itching. I went to my PCP and yes he said it was a bad infection and gave me an 500mg of oral antibiotic and a cream. he said if those do not work then they will need to take a culture of it. ugh sounds like my microbiology class! anyway I hope its nothing to bad. I will let you all know. Thanks for all your thoughts and concerns! (((((((((((big hugs)))))))))))
