Where's Zoe?
You didn't miss her, she's hiding from you! Ah ha ha ha ha. No, seriously I believe she's in the upper Mid-West, I think Wisconson, but I could be just making up that part. Actually, I think you just missed her. She posted earlier today. (I'm such a brat!)

Surgery this Wed. March the 30th
Hi Amber and welcome! Oh, yes, you should have seen me in my freak-out stage--I couldn't have been wound tighter than that one night! Hard to believe that night was just 3 weeks ago! oh yes, if I let myself think about the fact I need to loose about 100 pound.. well, that seems pretty unrealistic. Instead, I am focusing on loosing sizes, and then I'm just focusing on just loosing one size at a time. I have my ultimate goal size in mind, but only in the back of my mind.

Delarla & LBT Calendar Girls!!!!!!!
I'm afraid I have to withdraw from this. I am in the process of trying to obtain a security clearance, and I've been advised to not pose for a naked calender. Although the look on my adviser's face when I told him what I was planning was priceless.

Formal Dinner dance Invite--what to wear?
We have a Nordstrom Rack down the street from my house, so that is where I do most of my shopping for anything but jeans. Target just doesn't carry much in the way of business clothing.... Is a Rack available in your area? Kimberlilly, please post some of the "NO" dresses so we can play too! I think your idea about posting your top 3 choices is fun too!

Would you use this?
If I was certian that it was truly one-way glass, then I'd use it. I would be fun to be inside and watch people. The windows on my apartment are tinted so they are almost one way. people walking right next to the windows can make out things that are right close to the window, but you have to work at it. I'm talking floor to celing almost the width of the room windows. Unless I got freaked out about people trying to peer inside...

New yummy recipes for mushy stage and beyond
okay Teresa, you inspired me. Here is what I've been living on for most of the week... Broccoli soup ½ onion Garlic Butter or olive oil Broccoli Salt 1 tsp (or to taste) Spice to taste (I've used basil, chipolte and Herbs de Provence (the lavender is wonderfully delicate) in different batches.) Milk or stock spiced Sausage (if desired) cheese (if desired) Sauté onion and garlic until soft and translucent. Add thawed vegetables, cook until soft on low heat. Add salt and spices. Add milk or stock. Cook until desired consistency. For variation, add a sliced spiced sausage before you add the vegetables, or instead of using broccoli, use broccoli, cauliflower and carrot frozen mixed vegetables. Add your favorite cheese to finish. For liquid stage, use a stick blender to completely liquefy soup.

How long on stage 3?., hungry..Yikes!
Hi Corgi, I was on clear liquids for 3 days, and I'll be on full liquids for 2 weeks. I don't get to start mushies until next Saturday. Of course, this has given me the opportunity and excuse to remember and use all my mad soup skillz. (my son isn't a soup eater)

weird LBT time/date stamp behavior
Hey Gang, I've noticed something really weird with the time/date stamp behavoir. It started lastnight. Threads will show new activity when there hasn't been any new activity. The main page will show that so-and-so posted such-and-such, but when I get into the thread, that person hasn't posted. Anyone else seeing this? Firefox 1.0.2

What's The Deal With Coffee?
Nope, no coffee ban here either. Of course, I think banning coffee in Seattle has got to be illegal, or something. In fact, my nutrishionist said to drink a latte every morning as a way of getting my milk in...

What did you tell your children?
My DH has been banded for almost two years, so my son knows all about the procedure, plus, he's 18. He didn't think I needed the band, he didn't think I was that big. "Gee Mom, you wear your weight well!" He couldn't believe that I weighed 270 pounds. I explained to him that my weight is causing me to have terrible asthma problems, like extended stays in hospital. He is totally supportive.

steroids
I was on steroids when I was banded for my asthma. My surgeon told me to take the steroids with real chocolate milk, not skim milk. What exactly are your concerns? My main concern is that I won't be as successful with the band because much of my weight is a direct result of steroids and other medications. (I've been banded for less than 2 weeks.)

welcome Traci! This place is really great, as are the folks! I think you will find us to be helpful so don't be shy about jumping into discussions or asking questions. You won't find any attitudes like "RTFM already." Feel free to search around and Welcome!
