  1. Way to go Zoe! You strut them!
  2. Well that's just great. Fat lot of good that will do me, I don't get to do mushies until NEXT weekend! :cry
  3. Right Paula! Obviously our children are gifts. I was hoping to provoke something deeper. Now, if you realized that you had to get your act together because you realize that would be the best thing for your child, then I would say that was a gift from your child. (After my son was born, I realized I couldn't be a party girl any more, and that I had to get my act together. That was his gift to me.)
  4. Nancy, you are in my thoughts and prayers.
  5. curses! foiled again!

Welcome Vauren! Yes, that feeling around your diaphram is normal, I think. I had trouble talking a deep breath, and my surgeon told me that it was because they have to manipulate the diaphram to implant the band. I was banded a couple of weeks ago...
  7. Oh Vera, I'm so sorry to hear this! Stick to your guns sister!
  8. They actually have them, they are called doggles. Of course, the mere thought of doggles sends me into a fit of giggles. I think someone needs to steal the battery from Penni's notebook...
  9. Sure, I'm in with Penni, unless Donali and I can be a pair of cupids!
  10. The very best gift I ever received was getting back my sense of humor. In my early 20’s I was working this terrible job where I had to work 2 graveyard shifts, 2 swing shifts and a day every week. After about 6 months of this I completely lost my sense of humor. I mean, NOTHING was funny. At all. I quit that job, and it took me a few weeks to find a new job. The new one I landed was all graveyards, and I actually grabbed the dishwasher by his apron lapel and demanded that he keep me awake. (I was a short order cook…) He was the funniest person I think I’ve ever known, and he gave me back my sense of humor. So, what is your best gift ever?
  11. AHAHAHAHA!!! Oh my gawd! Yup, every morning a song wakes me up too! My husband thinks I'm nuts, but Spudboy does the same thing too. Yeah, some of my co-workers think I'm nuts. This afternoon I made one of my friends listen to the song that was playing in my head. ... I frequently laugh at apperently nothing as well. But I don't have ANY memories of my mother laughing. Not a single one. I don't think she even has a sense of humor. What a sad way to live...
  12. Over Christmas break, my son and I discovered that not everybody has a radio in their head. We had always taken it for granted that other people can just normally “listen” to music even when nothing external is playing. It’s like an internal soundtrack I guess. Music is very, very important to me. Here’s an example of what I mean about my head-radio: One morning, I’d been listening to Rammstein while working on my math homework. I get ready for my afternoon class on autopilot. This means putting books in bag, and getting my mp3 player, PDA, and stuff like that. I was about halfway to school before I realized that the music I was jamming to was only playing in my head… I’d completely forgotten my mp3 player in my apartment! Anyone else have a head radio?
  13. I didn't tell everybody about it at work, just some of the guys. Well after my surgery, my DH called one of my co-workers to let her know I was fine and she sent out an e-mail to the entire team blabbing the news! My boss told me yesterday that he was really proud of me for taking this step. That really meant alot to me, because I have the utmost respect for that man. I wasn't going to tell my mother, because, well, she is the least supportive person I know. (My sister outed me...) My mother really surprised me because she WAS supportive in my decision to be banded.
  14. Great job Wendy!
  15. What a great start Nyke! 40 pounds in 5 weeks! That is amazing work! okay, you do not deserve to suffer. No one deserves to suffer. You are a person with intrinsic value, and because you have value, you only deserve the best. Please find some positive affermations and read them every day! It really makes a difference. I know that chronic pain plays terrible games with your head. I used to wear my pain like a badge of honor. I didnt' realize it, but that is what I did. Buy yourself different types of bottled Water until you find one you do like. I personally cannot stand the tap water here in Idaho, it's ... horrible. I've tried to filter it, but still, yuck! I find that the different bottled waters all have their own subtle flavors, and currently really like the Earth20 brand. Partly because I can get it in gallon jugs. The well water at my mother's place is terrible, but the well water that my sister had at her old place was WONDERFUL. Good luck finding a water you like! It's important! WOW!!! What a great analagy! I've never thought about it in these terms, but that is a great way to explain it! I hear by announce my intent to steal this thought! It will go along way to explain in terms my boy-ohs can understand. Water is generally my prefered beverage, but getting them to drink it...
  16. Lisa, when I don't eat breakfast I find that I eat more at night. You're SUPPOSED TO EAT breakfast!
  17. Pugs: one of the guys on campus has two pugs and an elderly daushound... I call them the pug patrol. I don't know why, but that just gives me quite the giggle. (cue 1939 radio announcer) dun duN DUN! It's Pug Patrol! Keeping the streets of Pocatello safe! I'm afraid that when I get home for the summer that I'm going to have to put my beloved Astro to sleep. He's 15 years old, which in doggy years is... dead. The vet can't believe he's still doing so well. But unfortunately, he can hardly move any more. When he lies down on our hardwoods he cannot get up by himself most of the time.
  18. My biggest problem with easter candy are Cadbury's cream eggs and the malted milk eggs... looooove malted milk eggs. Luckily for me, there are no See's shops here in my exile. oooooo scotch mallows... bordoux bars... Yikes!
