  1. Tuesday, walked 45 minutes, no horseback riding Wednesday, walked 30 minutes today, walked 60 minutes
  2. Oh Shelly, this is wonderful! I'm so happy for you!
  3. Yay Lisa! this is such wonderful news! I'm doing the happy dance for you right now!
  4. isn't that funny. my right side is so much more comfortable than my left! (my port is just above my belly button...) I'm so glad you are making friends with your band Norma!
  5. Nicole! This is not a diet! You are not cheating. Be kind to yourself. You only had one piece, not an entire bag.
  6. Man, this thread is busy! I agree with Penni--I think a before pix is a good idea. Isn't that sort of the purpose of the band?
  7. Zoe! That is my usual scent at home! How'd you know?
  8. oh yes, count me in!
  9. Yeah, as a matter of fact, I also work about 20 hours a week... A nurse came into my room this morning and discovered that I was the "wrong" person. She jokingly asked if maybe I wanted her to bring me a baby... I laughed. My answer was "NO!, not just no but HELL NO!!!" Then I laughed, of course. I haven't had an issue with my period for a decade, when this happened. This period was just one from hell. I mean, I went thourgh an entire package of supers in 4 days. I don't expect to have further troubles after this D&C. Maybe I'm just being optimistic, but well, that is my basic nature... I do NOT want any sort of hysterectomy. The ob/gyn said that there is a new technique for dealing with the troublesome lining of the uterus. Ablative something... Thanks so much for all the warm thoughts!
  10. wow, great work Pati! I'm looking forward to racking up some NSVs of my own!
  11. I totally agree with Alex. A lot of people find it really difficult to deal with change, and you are changing before their eyes. There may be an element of jelousy as well, because you are doing what they have not been able to accomplish.
  12. Wow! the results are AMAZING!!! My DH will have to have massive plastic surgery after he's lost more weight, and I've been a little aprehensive about it. Thank you so much for posting these pix.
  13. I'm claustrophobic too, and I haven't felt ... confined by my new band.
  14. Woot! Way to go Pat!
  15. That is F-A-B!!! Mind you, I can currently fit all of me into one of my DH's pant legs...:devious
  16. I would like to formally request some prayers and white light headed my way. I’m having a rough patch with my health, and it looks like it is getting to be … habitual. Two weeks ago, I had to be transported to the ER via ambulance. I’d had a terrible asthma attack. Monday, the 14th I had my band (a good thing). Last night I had to have an emergency D&C. They found some “suspicious” polyps, as well as a nasty fibroid that runs through both chambers of my uterus. (Yes, that’s right. I have two chambers in my uterus.) So, could y’all please send a little help my way?
  17. someone needs to tell Penni that rain should never be a factor whether to go to Starbucks or not. In Seattle we never let the rain stop us from doing anything. I say "tell" because SHE SHOULD BE RESTING THOSE PEEPERS OF HER! Hugs Penni, and I'm glad things went well!
  18. I needed an emergency D&C... My DH wasn't terribly happy to get a call from the ER telling him that I was going in for surgery. 2 in two weeks is not a good thing...
  19. I never wear pany hose. EVER. When I crashed my motorcycle, I ended up with a terrible scar on my leg from the engine where I was burned. (people are white meat BTW...) The nylon has a terrible effect on my scar. When I do have to wear a suit, I just don't wear hose.
  20. Geez, see what happens when I spend the night in hopsital? I WANNA HELP!!! I know, Desk calendars! They have a weekly picture! Of course, Donali and I will want the same week in Feb...
  21. OW! Sorry to hear about your hubby's toe. Has your daughter asked you to kiss it and make it better? (something my boy-oh would have suggested at her age...)

Pain wise, this was a brease for me. I am having terrible menstral cramps though. These hurt worse than the surgery stuff.
  23. Welcome back Corgi! I've had some gas, but nothing terrible. Just feel like I REALLY need to have one of those BRRRRAAAAPPPP!!!! Burps. I've also not had anything close to pain, just discomfort. I don't remember anything about recovery, just waking up in my hospital room. I do have this mystery bruse on my thigh--still black and not yet turning to green...
  24. Hello Flower. I could have had the band probably in January if I wasn't a full time student. That means it would have just been a couple of weeks after meeting with my surgeon. Instead, I had my band installed last week during spring break.
  25. You will do just fine Tanya! I know that these next few days were an absoulute rollercoaster for me!
