  1. well, I didn't actaully go to Cold stone... I had salmon salad instead of ice cream. Good Greif!
  2. It is just yummy, and had plenty of anti-oxidants. I haven't heard that it helps with weightloss though. Sure hasn't helped me!
  3. I am a Leader. Natural managers who strive for efficiency See the big picture and make strategic plans for the future Think of themselves as bright, independent and logical May overlook other people's need for emotional support I think this fits, since I'm an ENTJ on the Meyers-Brigs.
  4. oh man, food is more center stage than it has been in a long time! I had sushi and sashimi for my "last meal" too. But I sat and savoured every single piece from the eel to the seattle rolls to the smoked salmon to the nigiri... mmmmm sashimi...
  5. Mine is a few inches above my belly button and to the RIGHT
  6. okay, I only lost one pound last week, but my calories have been down around 800 calories. I've decided that my goal is at minimum 1200 calories. I cannot eat very large meals (woot!) so I've decided to add a fouth meal. I was teasing my DH that maybe I should to go the Cold Stone Ice Cream place for my extra 400 calories! Ah ha ha ha ha At 800 calories I can't even get all my Protein in, so I"m adding a 4th meal. Time to take my own advice!
  7. (Pssst Paula! Scotty's a she!)
  8. Oh Tina! I'm so sorry! I didn't tell my mother for the very same reason! When I told her that I was getting a full ride scholarship, her remark was "they are going to waste that on a 40 year old woman??" Not, wow, that is amazing and I'm so proud of you, it was you don't deserve such a thing. I won't bore you with the details, but I learned that strong people ask for the help they need. (Wolves don't know about help...) Tina, you are stronger than you know, and you deserve the band. We all deserve good things, the best the universe has to offer.
  9. I just laugh about it. I'm not dating anyone because I have an exclusive contract with my DH... Oh, and for me to joke about bodily functions is a HUGE step for me. Growing up we were not permitted to have bodily functions, or appear to have them anyway. I find humor to be a great weapon/tool.
  10. Hey Gypj, not all protien drinks are created equal. Try to find one that has a lot of Protein and lower calories. The adkins are okay, but do try some other shake. Also, if you are on shakes, you can probably have blended Soups now, right? I found the soups to be more filling than the shakes. Good luck! (I just moved to mush, so the liquid stage is very fresh in my mind!)
  11. We have it every other week, at $65. per day. You cannot believe the ammount of arguments that has cut down! That was one of the condtitions of me going into exile--DH and Spudboy keep the housekeepers, and I don't freakout when I go home to visit.
  12. Yay Grammi! Is the doctor who is going to proctor your surgeon experienced?
  13. Ah, this is why I hired a house keeper Man, I hate being in exile!
  14. what the heck are you talking about???
  15. Also, don't forget to check in with the tape measure. You could be losing inches and putting on muscle mass. But I have to agree with everyone else, YOU NEED TO EAT MORE. Which of course, causes me to giggle. Who would'a thunk that you need to eat more to lose weight?! Please check in with us!
  16. Actually, I did have extra acne after my band. It wasn't terrible, but it was a lot more than I usually have. I know for me that if I'm starting to have an outbreak it is usually a combination of hormones, being dehydrated and constapated. When were you banded?
  17. The original date of this post was 3/22/05 I stole this from the "how much weight did you loose before your first fill thread. I felt that this desered it's very own thread. WAY TO GO SCOTTY! I know I'm so proud of you for this, and I'm sure that everyone else is proud of you too. So let me be the very first to open a bottle of cyber-champagne and toast your success! So give us the dirt Scotty! what is the name of your show, what network, and do you need any fat and shrinking actresses? (oh oh! pick me! pick me!)
  18. I've "only" lost 1 pound, BUT I LOST ANOTHER 5.5 INCHES since last week. This time, there was no bonus edema inch loss! And since I know the scale lies... Woot!
  19. My port incision is 1.5 inches and the other 4 are .5 inch, and all are healing nicely. I'm still pretty scabby, and the places where the glue and tape held me togehter are still quite angry looking. (I have very sensitive skin.) I expect all these scars to fade to nearly invisiblilty, based on my gall bladder scars. (sorry you have the nasty scar Paula!)

hey Party Girl, I think some level of envy/jelousy is normal. We see someone get what we want, and so we pout or throw a hissy fit at some level. Sometimes we pout in public, sometimes we pout in private. How we deal with this envy/jelousy refects our level of maturaty. (I'm firmly convinced that my mother is a three-year-old in the body of a 70 year old.) How do I deal with it? I first acknowledge the feelings. On their own, feelings and emotions are neither good nor bad, they just are, and they need to be recognized for what they are. After you acknowledge them, you have to deside wether you want to be the bigger person (pun intended) or not. I show compassion to those who've chosen the by-pass because they have chosen a much more dangerous and ardous journy than I. The band is completely different than the different by-pass WLSs. Your weight will definately be slower, and I have to think this is a good thing. It will give your skin a better chance of shrinking, but probably most important for me, it gives your head a chance to catch up with your weight-loss. It will give you a better opportunity to deal with all the various issues that have conspired to make you fat, keep you fat. Or, keep me fat, as the case is. I don't believe the by-pass patients have that opportunity we do. I have a very strained relationship with most of my sibs as well. Probably an offshoot of being raised by wolves. My younger sister is very mad at me because all our adult lives I've always been mistaken for the younger sister. With a 5 year difference, this just chaffs her something terribly. I have to admit that I am THRILLED that I look younger than her, but I never throw it up in her face. I'm sad that I don't have the kind of relationship with her that I do with our oldest sister. However, I didn't even invite my younger brother to my wedding because I didn't want to deal with him stealing my wedding gifts. Very sad, but he grew up to be a wolf too. (no offence intended to true four-legged wolves intended.) Hope this helps, or at least gives you something else to chew on.
  21. Great NSV Pam! When the new nurse taking blood pressure and stuff asks about your due date.
  22. *sniff* *sniff* I"m not done crying
  23. Sheila Honey! I sure hope you don't have the worst case senario! Sending you the warmest thoughts and the brightest white light!
  24. Welcome Hippiemams! I was really freaked out the week before my banding, but I sure got over it! The folks here are really great, and feel free to search any threads here. There is a lot of great information here.
