6 week post op visit
I was told by someone at my surgeon's office that the band isn't about restriction, it is about weight loss. Dr. Watkins said he understands that a lot of people trade one addtiction for another. In the case of the band, many people become addicted to feeling too tight. Patti, you are doing amazing! 36 pounds in 6 weeks! Heck, I don't even need a caluclator to figure out that average! That is tremendous work! (you too CarmelDeva!)

G'day from Australia
There is a chain of theme restaurants in the US (and maybe Canada) call The Outback. Nothing fancy, but nice places.

Good Drink
Yup, SoBe is fabu! I love the green tea, I always get a bottle when I go grocery shopping. I know, I know, it isn't sugar free, but my calories have been really low... (rationalize, rationalize, rationalize)

we almost always had chickens when I was a kid. When I'm able to move back home I want to get a couple of hens. I think my neighbors would kill me if I got a rooster. But unfortunately, if there is no rooster, the head hen will take on the rooster duties, which includes crowing... My younger sister carried home several baby chicks after visiting our Grandmother. She carried them in her jacket pocket. On the airplane... Of course, this was before there was much need for security....

Stalked
Oh Joan! I cannot imagine how you feel! I had my car broken into and I felt terribly violated, I cannot imagine the scale of something like this.

wardrobe malfunction!
As y'all know, I'm taking horseback riding for my PE class this semester. I am still really unsure of myself around these big beasts, but I'm getting better. Yesterday, I had a wardrobe malfunction! When I dismounting one of the horses, my bra got caught on the pommel an I was stuck! I'm standing on the tippy toes of my new cowboy boots because the horse is tall, I am not, and I'm trapped by my bra! Trust me, there is no way this bra is going to easily come loose or break, because they are made to hold me up! (Let's just say, I think a DD cup is really small...) Luckily, two of the women in my class came to my rescue. My shirt ended up almost coming off in the process! It was really funny, to tell the truth. So, anyone else have a wardrobe malfunction to share?

Exercise log book
okay, walked and walked and walked since my last post Horseback riding again, didn't fall off, or anything. I did get a little freaked out when one of the horses I was riding was starting to freak out because one of the mares was in heat... Yikes! Of course, when I dismounting one of the horses, my bra got caught on the pommel an I was stuck! I'm standing on the tippy toes of my new cowboy boots because the horse is tall, I am not, and I'm trapped by my bra!

Doing crunches
Amber, I started doing small amounts of crunches by the end of my second week. I don't know if you use one of the large excersize balls, but some of our folks use the ball. They find it more comfortable than the floor

Pain issues
Jody, I still cannot sit in some of the desks at school. The edge of the desk presses too much in a couple of my classes. It should get better as I loose weight and as I heal more. Cheers!

Bruising..
Hey Kendra, it looks liek you had the bruse for a while, given the yellow color. It is possible that the bruse just took a while to surface. When my bruse finally surfaced it had started to change color already

A feeling of Fullness
Hey Flower, man this question is more difficult than you realize, at least for me to answer! The fullness is ... satisfaction perhaps? I'm new at this feeling full thing myself. The first few times after eating mush I realized that I was full after it was too late. I learned that I have to stop eating before I feel full. It was uncomfortable, but not painful in anyway.

newbie with questions
Welcome Nettie! while I cannot speak to your questions, I think Jenna is right, that these should be discussed with your MD. But I am sure we have had folks with similar issues, so feel free to do a search on both those topics! Cheers and Welcome!

Is this normal???
Hey Isa, First off, what is normal? I don't know if it is normal or usual, but I lost about the same ammount of weight in the same ammount of time. Most of mine was Water weight, but yippi! that means no more edema, especially no more edema in my lungs. I'm not sure your diet is normal, but if that is what your dr recommended, then that is normal for your Dr. We are looking forward to those pix!
